Faye | 55 comments I do buy from ThriftBooks.com quite a bit because you can get great deals.
I also buy a lot from Barnes & Noble as well as Books-a-Million because I get teacher discounts and sometimes they even let me stack other coupons and deals on top of that discount.
Then, there’s this amazing used book shop in my town called the Old Book Barn...someone actually took a barn and converted it into a bookshop. It’s humongous (seriously, you could literally get lost in there) and the owners have cats that they keep there, so it’s my happy place.

Susy (susysstories) Sounds like the best barn in the world. Would spend quite some time there if we had something like that in the neighborhood!

William Macias (willdoggdotcom) | 19 comments I tend to shop online at my local bookstore, Cellar Doors (https://www.cellardoorbookstore.com), and pick up directly. Plus, they have book club meetings that I attend, also a good time discussing books! For interesting finds I go to my local Goodwill store, and occasionally browse the local used books locations. Seems like ThriftBooks a great website to try!

Vicky | 69 comments I buy as much as I can from the Waterstones in town. It’s a beautiful shop and I take pleasure in doing my bit to keep it open. There’s also something just nicer about shopping in a physical shop, seeing what’s on offer.

Hannah | 2 comments Charity shops usually. I then return them after I’ve read them. This means I’m supporting the charity twice and feeding my addiction.
I rotate which charity shops to go to so the choice is always different. I have so many books I want to read that there’s usually at least one on my want to read book. It’s also a good way of finding an old classic.
If I’ve been recommended something specific that I’m excited about I’ll buy it from Waterstones, usually because I can’t wait for the delivery! I also buy a lot of books as gifts as Waterstones is usually where I head. The Works is a good shop for children’s books but their adult section tends to be a bit lame.

Sammy (sammycataspires) | 3 comments I've gotten a few ebooks from the Amazon kindle app, kobo reading app and even Google play books app. Otherwise I usually do stores. I've been getting a lot actually at the local dollar store lately and even scored at a garage sale and thrift stores. I've also gotten a few at a book store that sells new n used. I'm a little every where with my purchases. lol

Betsy | 3 comments I’ve been doing a lot of audiobooks and ebooks on Overdrive using my local public library. I’ve been downloading free public domain French books from the TV5 Monde website. I love Daedalus Books - there are lots of good deals on its website. I sometimes use Bas Bleu for gift giving (also online). The independent bookstore Politics & Prose sells signed editions and its remainders on its website. It also has a book of the month club for kids and adults - they pick books based on what the person likes, and if he or she doesn’t like it, they can exchange it. I did a six month book gift for my father-in-law, who isn’t a big reader and whose tastes I don’t quite get, but he loved it (to my surprise). I’ve also bought books from Costco, Target, and WalMart, as well as Amazon and B&N, when I want the best price on a popular book. I hope you find a place that works well for you!
