I'm slightly behind on the schedule, but I'm for sure reading this one. It's a relief that I own it and I don't have to wait for it from the library!

I read the first chapter (ie. story) yesterday. Will start chapter two later this evening...

I am a horrible member. My other part time job didn't work out so I got another part time job at a retail store and I am getting so many more hours than I expected on top of my full time job. I hope to read a good chunk of this book on Sunday since I don't work until 4 pm.

Congrats on the new job! I have been busy with work and houseguests lately. Hoping to read a lot of it this weekend.

So far, I find this book is well-written...a bit too descriptive for my taste...but it's okay.

I like your description, Lilith - I completely agree. I've had a hard time getting into it. I haven't read many short story collections so not sure if this is a reflection of the format or the author's writing style. Maybe a little bit of both. I did more of a skim through than thorough reading of it - I liked The Passenger and The Light Through the Window the best.

I tried...I just can't get into it. I felt like as I was reading it, I just wasn't absorbing it. When I read about the book and what kind of stories it had, I thought it looked very interesting. But I did no more research than that and I didn't check out anyone's comments or reviews. Next time I will do that before suggesting a book.

It's tough to know for sure. Reviews for this one seem overall quite favorable...
