Helen (helennn) | 1020 comments Just finished my second for the month, Murder of an Open Book (A Scumble River Mystery, #18) by Denise Swanson .
Love this series. This one has plenty of scenes with Skye doing her job as a school psychologist.

Anna Catharina I finished my second July book some days ago, it was the second book of the Hamish Macbeth serie by M.C. Beaton. I don't know what to think of this serie, I don't like the description of the characters, especially not of the female ones. I know these books are nearly 30 years old, but I can't like them.

Kristie (kristiesbooknook) | 49 comments I finished my first pick for July - Lemon Pies and Little White Lies by Ellery Adams. It was just okay. I am hoping to read the 2nd pick before the end pf the month amd cross this series off as finished!

Joyce Rawlins | 2 comments I like the M. C. Beaton books. you have to accept the fact that she makes her characters a little weird and then go on to enjoy

Gary Sundell | 794 comments At the 12% mark on my second book.

Jess (mividadulce) | 145 comments Finished my first book, Through the Grinder Through the Grinder (Coffeehouse Mystery, #2) by Cleo Coyle by Cleo Coyle. This cracked me up quite a number of time. I am not a big fan of romantic fictions but this book has just the right balance of it, with interesting facts on coffee which I love as well. This is my first urbane cozy so it felt quite original (though I now know there are a lot of urbane cozies). Only wish the mystery were a bit more stronger, or the main character to be a better sleuth. Started the second one and am quite confident I'll finish it soon.

I like the Agatha Raisin serie as well, but I have problems with the Hamish Macbeth mysteries (at least with the two I read). It's not the problem that the characters are weird, it's more the point of the describtion of female characters. Priscilla is 23 y.o. and behave like a 12 years old girl. And I don't like that her virginity is mentioned so often, it has nothing to do with the mystery.

Linda (rudylkr) | 716 comments Finished my second book Murder Boogies with Elvis. I enjoyed this book and am now a little sad because it was also the last book in the series for me to read.

Again, it cracked me up so much. I have to admit, some part of this series is a bit cringeworthy (not a big fan of romance..), but still makes me laugh so hard, and couldn't help but finish it.
Having said that, the 'mystery' part is not strong, it just seems like everything spills out at the end (unless I'd missed all the clues), but it is definitely 'cozy' and fun so will come back to this series.

So far every book I have looked at is 350 or more pages. Yes I could read the 3rd of The Continental Op series. I am not sure I am in the mood for Hammett at the moment.

Kristie (kristiesbooknook) | 49 comments I finished my 2nd book Breach of Crust yesterday. That series is finished!
