Life was good. Okay, it was more that life was good compared to the last three weeks — summer school was perfectly boring. Gwen did fine academically, but she wasn't a huge social person, so while she'd gotten along with her peers and teachers just fine, she couldn't wait to devote her time to her full-time passion again.

Luckily there was El Castillo for that. Her parents had called it a treat for her and that she was allowed to do anything she wanted. To be fair, it wasn't like Gwen couldn't do whatever even without that stipulation, because her parents would have let her do anything anyway — her dad would probably be off golfing or something boring like that while her mom got manipedis and spas every other day, or whatever they even were.

So it was with that attitude that she glided into the lobby, almost floating in excitement at the thought of being permanently reunited with her computer, a luggage in one hand and a duffel bag slung over her shoulder, which she dumped unceremoniously onto the marble floor as soon as her parents headed towards the check-in desk.

Ok-aayyyyy, so at least the bellhops were cute. Or maybe it was just this specific bellhop, but he was cute. Even if he looked eternally pissed off at his job, though she would be too — he was sort of wasted carrying stuff around. "Be careful with the luggage," she called, a bit anxiously, out of habit. In it was all her gaming equipment, like her laptop, headphones, controllers, and the new mouse she got for her birthday.

She couldn't help but shadow him all the way back to Room 217 — it was hard not to hover when her things were in the hands of someone else, even if he wasn't half-bad looking. And by hover, Gwen really meant following him half a step behind the whole time.
