Starting to consider severing my stuff into small independent episodes, especially since they have a samovar folder -:)

I've been vigorously pursing shorts as a way to improve my writing (they're a shorter turnaround than a novel) and earn credentials (not only to have something published by a well-known SF&F venue, but to also become a member of the SFWA) for about a year now.
Thank you so much for posting this! I just submitted now, and will let you know how it goes! Fingers crossed!

And it you're in Australia, 'every Monday' translates to 'mostly Tuesday.' ;-PAs far as I can see they really motor through the submissions too. I submitted last week (I suspect my story isn't what they're looking for but as I heard from Jack Dann last weekend - if you're submitting, that's a good thing, and you never know), and I'm now 78th in the queue after starting out in the high 200s.
Is Dann the editor? But wait, you're still 78th? Does that mean they're looking at it? ^_^ That would be very cool.
However, should anything else happen, I'll let you know :)Basically it says Status: In progress
Queue Position: 78

oops. i wrote poorly. what a sin. and i read poorly too. an even greater sin. ^_^
i see now, Dann wrote that it's a good thing you're submitting.

Short Story 1000 to 7500 words 8 cents/word
Novelette 7500 to 10000 words 8 cents/word
They prefer works under 5,000 words.
They're an SFWA-qualified market.
