The Help question

ok so the book im looking for is kinda spelled like this "Broderick". all I can remember is that the cover art is a bunch of silhouettes of people some smoking and some with hats on and some upside down if my memory serves me correctly. and its a very well written book i picked up at the library. but i didint check out. now that I'm back at the library the reference desk lady is like you need the author but i don't remember the name. i searched up and down the fiction section looking for it for about two hours. its a reeeeeealy good book. but i cant find it and now im sad. please help me if you know what book im talking about please reply.
