GIVE WAY
They tell me this is ridiculous and
poets make little money, and
didn't I always want a white house with
a big yard and an attic hidden in the canopies
and songbirds dusting the treetops
and a little silver carousel and a
bronze trumpeter swan on a chain
when I grow up?
But I need something, I need this that I am
looking for and isn't it so ridiculous
that I want to go somewhere,
though I've been locked in this luxury
hotel and I'm aching to tumble
through the window and land on a marshmallow
cloud that gives way for me to
fly.

that poem was about what would make me euphoric, or at least veryveryveryveryveryvery happy - to become an amazing writer that gets payed for my writing and gets rich.
wouldnt it be exceedingly wonderful to get money simply for floating off into la la land and just writing about what happened there? ;)
sigh.

Battered and torn because you are loved, you see,
it isn't the effect of age,
you look stunning to me,
Sadly, you're looked down on with disgust,
by the crowd that should never be spoken of,
your exterior is insipid they say,
and is often found accumulating dust,
In any case, you're a fine specimen of adventure,
page by each wondrous page,
you are my euphoric treasure,
It would be imprudent to say,
you are bland and aged,
every word you offer will seep into my intellect,
no word will be wasted or mocked,
A story and a life you provide,
concealed in every leaf,
it's a beauty to behold,
a wonder to indulge in,
an euphoria to cherish.

We will meet again
After a long time perhaps
But for just one moment
We will meet for sure.
We will sit together
No words, no talks
No past to hold to,
No future to hope for,
Just that one moment...
That solitary moment;
Looking into each other's eyes
Not with the love
That brought us so close;
Not with the differences
That tore us apart;
Clear as dewdrops
Pure as morning light,
Just that one steady gaze
The only regard of the only moment;
You will know you
And I will find me,
You will have me
I will have you,
We will smile softly
At our foolish ignorance
That lasted so long;
That one moment will be
The only life of this life.
