Barry Ricks I saw the movie trailer for the movie coming out this Fall, and I wanted to check out the book. I guess I didn't realize it's a series. Do I need to start at book one? Or is a series you can start where ever?

Katie You can start it whenever :) All Poirot stories are individual cases with the rare reference to other books, despite having a specific 'order'. Murder on the Orient Express is one of the most well-known Poirot mysteries and is a great read by itself.

Kris Oh trust me, you don't need to read the others in the series before this one. "Murder On The Orient Express" was my first Hercule Poirot and Agatha Christie novel. I read it at 15 and was able to understand it just fine.
