Once Upon a Castle (Once Upon, #1) by Nora Roberts

Thanks, Marla. I didn't rate it highly, but I think that was more about my mood than about the book. There were some fun moments in a good selection of short stories, but they just didn't hold my interest. I'll continue with the series later because I do like these authors usually.

This was a pleasant character study. I liked that it featured a couple of 40-somethings looking to build something more substantial than a superficial romance.

I have 3 of her books on my tbr (now 4), but I've never read any. Which of her series do you recommend? I had planned to listen to them.

message 933: by Connie N. (last edited Oct 12, 2023 05:57AM) (new)

Connie N. | 3775 comments Marla, this particular book was a standalone. For series, I very much liked The Bakery Sisters, although I read those so I don't know about the narrator. I'm currently listening to Fool's Gold. Most of them are very good, but there's one recurring character than I dislike immensely. And once in a while, Mallery bases a book on a scenario that I just completely disagree with, as noted in my review for Summer Days.
