Bobbi (schadenfreudian) | 506 comments Finally finished The Lost Apothecary by Sarah Penner 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 5/29.

Connie N., Stirred (Love Story, #5) by Tracy Ewens looks really interesting.

My 5:

message 702: by Jennifer (new)

Jennifer (jhaltenburger) Haven't read any of them yet, Connie, and thanks for that pick!

message 703: by Chelsea (last edited May 31, 2022 10:03AM) (new)

Chelsea Skinner (chelspels) | 1021 comments Bobbi, this was such a hard pick! I chose The Love Hypothesis by Ali Hazelwood because I want to read it! Plus it's such a cute cover!

My Next Five:
Cheater's Game (Jake Lassiter, #13) by Paul Levine Summer at Sea (Summer #1) by Beth Labonte Sign Off (Caught Dead in Wyoming, #1) by Patricia McLinn The Wickenham Murders (Marsh & Daughter Book 1) by Amy Myers Recruit (The United Federation Marine Corps, #1) by Jonathan P. Brazee

Connie N. | 3775 comments Thanks, Bobbi! I've been meaning to get back to that series for a while. Thanks for the push.

Oh good, Jennifer, I'm glad you haven't read it yet. I hope the book is just as pretty on the inside as on the outside.

message 705: by Connie N. (new)

Connie N. | 3775 comments Chelsea, I can't resist the mysterious-ness of Sign Off (Caught Dead in Wyoming, #1) by Patricia McLinn . Plus, it has a car on the cover (and I'm looking for a bunch of those for a challenge task).

My next five are from my hot-guy section:
Home Field Advantage (Milwaukee Dragons, #3) by Liz Lincoln The CEO's Seduction (Hamilton Family #1) by Diane Alberts That Cowboy of Mine by Donna Grant Until Jax (Until Her/Him, #2) by Aurora Rose Reynolds Hard as Rock (The Rock Star's Seduction, #3) by Olivia Thorne

Connie, is it for the Tower of Books challenge? Because that one is killing me too! I never realized how few books I read with cars on them until that one popped up!

message 707: by Jennifer (new)

Jennifer (jhaltenburger) Chelsea I was thinking THE SAME THING.

message 708: by Connie N. (new)

Connie N. | 3775 comments Yes, that's the one! Glad I'm in good company.

message 709: by Jennifer (new)

Jennifer (jhaltenburger) Heh. Y'all two see if you can deny this train of thought: "That building on the cover looks like it might have a garage around back, and I bet that garage has a car in it. So what if the building is a florist shop. I can make a good case for it counting..."

message 710: by Marla (new)

Marla | 2844 comments Book #5: Being Jamie Baker (Jamie Baker, #1) by Kelly Oram by Kelly Oram
Read: 5/23/22
Rating: β˜…β˜…β˜….5

This was surprisingly entertaining if you could overlook the teen drama. And it had a pretty pink cover.

message 711: by Jennifer (last edited Jun 01, 2022 08:32AM) (new)

Jennifer (jhaltenburger) Connie, I'm choosing That Cowboy of Mine by Donna Grant for you. I like his stance.

My next five:
Hitting the Books (Library Lover's Mystery, #9) by Jenn McKinlay Radio Girls by Sarah-Jane Stratford Mercy (Brigham Theodore #2) by Victor Methos Our Kind of People by Carol Wallace Wrong Side of the Claw (Mystic Notch #7) by Leighann Dobbs

message 712: by Marla (new)

Marla | 2844 comments Man, Home Field Advantage (Milwaukee Dragons, #3) by Liz Lincoln is my favorite cover, but Until Jax (Until Her/Him, #2) by Aurora Rose Reynolds sounds the best IMO and it's not a bad cover. But since this is the Eye of the Beholder challenge, I'm picking Home Field Advantage (Milwaukee Dragons, #3) by Liz Lincoln . Final answer.

My next 5:
Crying in H Mart by Michelle Zauner Heartbreaker (Buchanan-Renard, #1) by Julie Garwood Rapture (Shadowdwellers, #2) by Jacquelyn Frank Better Off Friends by Elizabeth Eulberg The Sparrow (The Sparrow, #1) by Mary Doria Russell

Connie N. | 3775 comments Thanks, Jennifer! I see that you're being your conservative self again. (I like his stance...heh-heh)

Marla, I don't care what Jennifer says, I'm going to go with your choice also--go abs! (And I agree with you about the covers.)

message 716: by Jennifer (new)

Jennifer (jhaltenburger) Not saying I don't like the abs..... But you have to admit that cowboy has a sexy stance.

message 717: by Connie N. (new)

Connie N. | 3775 comments OK, ok, it's true. It's not always all about the nekkid abs. (Although I do have such a category in Genre Madness, so I've got to keep my hand in, so to speak.)

message 724: by Jennifer (last edited Jun 14, 2022 02:55PM) (new)

Jennifer (jhaltenburger) Barb, if you haven't read Cruel Winter (County Cork #5) by Sheila Connolly yet that's your pick.

I've finished two old picks recently: The Daydream Cabin by Carolyn Brown which is heartwarming just like most of CB's books, and Family Money by Chad Zunker which was a fun quick thriller.

My next five:
Radio Girls by Sarah-Jane Stratford Mercy (Brigham Theodore #2) by Victor Methos Our Kind of People by Carol Wallace Wrong Side of the Claw (Mystic Notch #7) by Leighann Dobbs The Last Dance of the Debutante by Julia Kelly

message 736: by Connie N. (last edited Jul 11, 2022 12:51PM) (new)

Connie N. | 3775 comments I've finished the book Chelsea picked for me in Post #688. It was very good, but I took off a whole point because it's a cliffhanger, leaving the book right in the middle, without any answers to the mystery or romance or anything. Very frustrating.
