well waaaah."
LOL At least it's off my to-read list now. Even better, it was one of the print books taking up space on my bookshelf, so now there's a bit more room for the remaining books to breathe -- at least for now :)

Thanks, Jennifer :) At the risk of adding the straw that broke the camel's back ... I really like this series, and am glad for an excuse to move this book higher up in the pile.

I normally don't choose covers with no color, but I like the texture and simplicity ..."
It's actually on my TBR for April! Now I have an extra reason to read it!

Jennifer, I'm choosing

And because why not add to my pile to be read, here are five more!

My next five:

Thanks, Jennifer :) At the risk of adding the straw that broke the cam..."
I like when the pile gets so big it falls over, and I realize there's a book I'm suddenly re-excited about revealed at the bottom. :)

That one keeps catching my eye when trying to make monthly TBRs so I now have a reason to add it!

A Trail Through Time (The Chronicles of St. Mary's #4), by Jodi Taylor, finished 4/12 ★★★★

I've read probably a dozen of her books. I steer away from the "cowboy romance series" etc because those really aren't my thing. The ones I've read are heartwarming family-focused with some romance, but legitimate issues to deal with. I think you'd like her, and I strongly recommend that you read

Here's what I said about it at the time:
Woot! Take an off-the-chain old Southern woman, throw in a few others who have difficulty controlling her, point her in the direction of her arch-enemy with a few fresh grudges to avenge, and let 'er rip! Hilarious! Reminded me of MKA's Hissy Fit and others of that ilk.
(It also reminded me of Gertie and Ida Bell when they're talking about that uptight old biddy who was the mayor for awhile in the Miss Fortune mysteries, except with slightly fewer armaments.)

Not all her books are like that, although all have some humor. I find I"m picking her books up pretty often these days. Some of them are "read for free" or "read and listen for free" on KU.

I've been in it for a few years but I realized about a year ago that I was rarely reading the books I had downloaded -- just got busy reading other things. I made a shelf for KU and one for KU with audible (which I have erroneously named "on prime" but whatev) and now I'm making a point of reading or listening to at least two per month. That will more than justify the cost in most cases, if I were to buy the two books. It's working out well.

Finished:

Barb, assuming you haven't read it yet, I'm choosing

My next five:

For you I'm choosing

My next five are all pastel-y covers:

Great pick, btw. I'm savoring the books of hers that I have left. :-)

And to get us back on track with a new pick list, here are my next five:

Thanks, Barb. That bottle is looking pretty good to me too!

I finally finished this this past month. It was a lot more interesting than I thought it might be!

Jennifer, I chose

Since I'm only one book behind, I'll give another 5 to choose from!

The Rhyme of the Magpie by Marty Wingate - 6/5/21 ♥♥♥♥

I love the simplicity of it, with the contrast between the water background and the font containing what looks like flames.
My next five:

I've finished two recently:

I'm almost done with the book chosen for me most recently, so I feel brave enough to post a new round of possibilities. My next five:

I have not, so I'm putting it on my list. I know we all get on and off of this thread so I try to use books I am not using for a month or two.

Can't Hurry Love by Molly O'Keefe - 6/19/21 ♥♥♥♥

I found the characters to be frustrating but compelling, and the narration very well done by Susan Denaker. I'll definitely continue with this trilogy.

Just Down the Road by Jodi Thomas - 6/30/21 ♥♥♥♥

I've updated my hot-guy cover choices:

Both were very good additions to their respective series, so thanks, Jennifer!
The Night Hawks (Ruth Galloway #13), by Elly Griffiths, finished 6/12 ★★★★
Pekoe Most Poison (Tea Shop #18), by Laura Childs, finished 6/26 ★★★★

My next five:

Broken Promise by Linwood Barclay - 7/2/21 ♥♥♥♥

Here are my next 5:

Connie, I'm choosing

My next five:

Glad you liked the Barclay book. He's been recommended to me several times, so I should try one of his books one of these days.

I wish I had seen this challenge sooner, I've missed this!
My first five:

My next five:

Slow Heat by Jill Shalvis - 7/31/21 ♥♥♥♥

I have fewer-than-usual abs covers, so this is the best I can do for hot-guy covers this time;

No Time Like the Past (Chronicles of St. Mary's #5), by Jodi Taylor, finished 8/10/21 ★★★★
