Good Reads has now included individual comic book issues both old and new in the website. We will add a monthly comic book discussion now as well.

Please suggest one comic book only (new or old) for our comic book discussion for June 2017. If you suggest more than one, then the first choice will be added only. Thank you.

The Suggestions so far:

1] SUPER SONS #1 by Peter J. Tomasi: “When I grow up” part one! The sons of Batman and Superman have graduated to their own monthly comic—but if they want to survive, they’re going to have to share it! Writer Peter J. Tomasi (BATMAN & ROBIN, SUPERMAN) teams with rising-star artist Jorge Jimenez (EARTH 2) to bring you the adventures of the World’s Smallest. This debut issue looks at the lives of Robin and Superboy and their destiny to follow in their fathers’ footsteps, while we meet a new villain whose ascension parallels the boys’ own understanding of their powers—except that he believes it’s his right to rule over every being on the planet!

2] Wonder Woman (Rebirth) (2016-) Annual #1 (Wonder Woman by Collin Kelly: The world of the Amazing Amazon expands in a collection of short stories that take Wonder Woman around the globe! In the days after “Year One,” Diana comes face-to-face with Superman and Batman for the first time, as illustrated by “Year One” artist Nicola Scott…and years later, Liam Sharp brings you the story of how their friendship has evolved!

3] Astro City: Samaritan #1 by Kurt Busiek: Revealing the long-awaited story of Samaritan’s greatest enemy: Infidel! It’s Samaritan’s first solo special; and the story of one brilliant, tormented man whose will is strong enough to shatter the world.

4] Drive #1 by Michael Benedetto: A hard-boiled pop-culture sensation re-created for comics. In L.A., there's one man you want behind the wheel. Just tell him where and when. He doesn't take part, doesn't know anyone, doesn't carry a weapon. He drives, and he's the best. Ride along as James Sallis' lean nu-noir masterpiece unfolds onto the sun-bleached streets of Los Angeles in this exciting 4-part comic book adaptation.

5] Cable (2017-) #1 by James Robinson: WALK SOFTLY...AND CARRY A BIG GUN! CABLE sees the mighty mutant return on a brand-new mission…with all of time in the balance! When Cable picks up the trail of a threat in the timestream, he sets off on a high-speed, history-spanning chase to save reality as we know it. From prehistory to modern day, whether it’s a six-gun duel at high noon or a high-tech sword fight in an ancient land, Cable is the only man who can keep history from unraveling!
