12. What passages strike you as insightful, even profound? Perhaps a bit of dialog that's funny or poignant or that encapsulates a character? Maybe there's a particular comment that states the book's thematic concerns?

Sarah | 91 comments For some reason, when Sophie and Jake were in the tunnels, the way they were talking about the glow stick was insightful to me.

I forget whether it was Jake or Sophie, but one said that the glow stick lit the path to escape the dark mine and was his/her only hope.

I felt the glow stick might have been a metaphor for Jesus, and the mine was a metaphor for sin and temptation. After all, SPOILER the drug dealers hid their operation there, and dealing drugs to get people addicted is obviously sinful SPOILER OVER.

Did anyone pick up on that, or is this just me?
