Chapters 13-19

(view spoiler)[So the whole Lucy as a vampire thing was weird. I didn't expect it. I thought when she was dead, she was dead for good.

I thought there would be more of Dracula in the book. He's not physically present a lot but he's looming in the background.

It was a bit annoying when the men were like Mina is too delicate to join the investigation and they're like saving her from the gruesome details. But it was a different time, I guess. I would love a modern retelling where Mina is leading the hunt for Dracula and one of the men is the delicate flower. I believe there's a comic with a female Van Helsing. I think I'll look out for that.

(view spoiler)[I didn't know this was told in journal/letter format. Love it! Harker is so toast. He's getting more and more hints that he's a goner. Dracula has no reflection, he freaked out when Harker knicked himself shaving, Harker is a prisoner, etc. Does Dracula post fake ads to lure victims? People still do that to this day. I wonder if Harker will be able to escape or use the crucifix as protection (hide spoiler)]

Gross story about the guy eating all the creatures..

Dracula's got Lucy now. The garlic was working to keep him away but everyone kept taking it off of her. Does Dracula only bite women? Will these people find catch Dracula? (hide spoiler)]
Ch 12

(view spoiler)[Lucy died and became a vampire. Van Helsing figured out it was Lucy who was biting all the kids and has turned into something evil. With the help of the other men, they're able to save Lucy's soul and kill the vampire in her. Van Helsing knows a lot about vampires. He knows about the nasferatu and how to kill vampires and how to protect themselves. Now they are on the mission to kill Dracula. Not sure what's in Dracula's boxes or what the guy in the asylum who eats spiders has to do with all this. (hide spoiler)]

I'm at 19% I was fine with the journal as it was just first person, but (view spoiler)[the letters and journals of others are something else. Especially since they are from different people. Adds a layer of confusion. Its just now coming together too. (hide spoiler)]
