Contest For Fastest Serial Killer?

OK, I have heard that Tony Atkins, the Highland Park Strangler, is the fastest-ever serial killer, on the strength of the discovery that he killed 11 women in 9 months. This is far from the record. When I read Serial Killer Timelines: Illustrated Accounts of the World's Most Gruesome Murderers I learned that Gary Ridgway, feeling resentful at having to pay for sex and apparently not willing to go without when he was between wives or girlfriends, killed a woman or more DAILY for more than a month at a time, putting Tony's record deep in the shade. And I just pulled up the dates of Christopher Wilder's killings today, never having gotten around to reading a book about him. Dear Scrod, he killed 9 women in 2 months' time -- and 6 others escaped him alive in that short period of time.

Sorry, Tony! Come on, man, stop blaming your mom for everything and smile! You're still the worst thing that ever happened to Highland Park, MI -- and that's saying a great deal.
