He smiled at her, "So I noticed we're neighbors." As he gave her a small elbow nudge. "Which is weird because I never see any young people in old lady Harrison's house. So are you new around here?" He asked, scooting over for other passer-byers.

Her eyes darted up. "Yeah I'm new and I'm a foreign exchange student from France.' She lied like her grandmother told her to. French was the only langue she knew so it could help her with lie.
"Oh really? Never thought that old grouch allowed anyone in her home except other old grouches." he laughed, "Well, welcome to our school or should I say, bienvenue à notre école," he smiled.
"You tell me." She said with a smile. "merci comment va ta journée? La vieille dame est ma grand-mère. Ne pas écouter ce que je dis. Elle n'est pas ma grand-mère" She realized she blown her cover. She prayed he wasn't that good at French.
"I got good day, grandmother, and do not." he laughed. "I'm not to well in French, even though i'm taking a class right now. But is Judith your grandmother? Gee I feel bad for you!"
"No she is not my grandmother." She said. She was lying but that's what she had to do. "I'm taking I don't know. I need to get my classes. But I will be taking French 3." She said.
"Oh, well we can go there together then, cause that's my next class." he smiled, "I can lend you my notes in case you need to catch up."
"I don't need to catch up." She said. "I'm pretty sure you need to because what i said was basic french and French 3 is advance." She joked.
"psshh.. no need to be a show off," he smiled, "If you had written it down, I could have read it and understood it easy. The talking part, ehh, not so much," he laughed. "And I'm sure some of my notes are worth catching up on." The two walked into the classroom.
((should we skip the class?))

She had a good day so far. She got to know her neighbor. She was scared people will find out about her past. She was scared that he had a girl friend. She didn't want anyone to treat her poorly anymore. She walked in the lunch room. She looked around for a spot to sit.
As John started on his lunch, his friends got up to get a head start on football practice. "I'll see you guys there later!" he said, giving a faint wave. As he turned, he noticed his neighbor again. Smiling he yelled, "Hey! Frenchy!" He waved at her, hoping she'd sit by him.
She smiled and walked to him. "My name isn't Frenchy it's Elaine." She said. She sat down. "Are you football player?"
"Yes, I've been playing since I started highschool." he leaned in close toward her, "But I doubt I'm any good," he whispered with a grin. "So it's Elaine? That's not what i'd expect from a French person. I thought you were like a.. Marie," he laughed, "My name's John." he smiled, "So.. have you seen the beach that's in town?"
"Marie is Spanish."She whispered with a grin. "I'm sure your good." She said. "John is so plain? And no i haven't seen the beach but i doubt i will."
"Gee thanks," he laughed hearing her opinion on his plain name, "Well I can take you sometime, you know, if you're worried about getting a ride. Because you really should see it, there's never anyone there." he smiled as he got up to dump his tray, "And by the way, Maria is the Spanish name, Marie is French. That's one thing I learned in that class," he smiled as he started toward the exit doors.
She looked at him with a smile. "No grand-mere wouldn't approve of me talking to you let alone go with you." She said. "Ops." She said. She realize she told him. She looked down. She walked out of the lunch room quickly.
"Hey hey hey!" he said as he quickly caught up to her, "So she is your grandma? Why didn't you just say so instead of making up stuff?"
She looked up at him. "Because she told me too. and im not suppose to be talking to you because your the neighbor." She said. "its not you she's just embarrassed like the rest of my family for having me as their child."
He let out a sarcastic laugh, "Why? Did you kill a man or something?" He nodded at the other students who walked by. Returning his attention to her he added, "And what right does she have to say who you cant talk to? Did she say I was bad?"
Tears came in her eyes. He was laughing at her and he wanted to know if he was a bad. She wiped her tears. "Like I said before because she thinks i'm an embarrassment." She said.
"Well, whatever it is. She shouldn't be so harsh on you. You don't seem the type that messes around anyway."
She walked away. "I told you why."She said. "She thinks im an embarrassment." She soon walked further away. Tears were coming down her face.
John didn't know whether he should follow her or not. Obviously there was no reason around it. She was just an embarrassment to her family. He didn't understand how she could be. Had she done something? or was her family just that heartless.
Her eyes were filled with tears. She walked out and got in the car that the driver was driving. She hated school now. He laughed at her. He thought it was funny.
As John walked inside to his house, he sat right on the floor in front of the door.
"Three.. two.. one." he said to himself and suddenly someone yelled right on quo.
"Honey? Are you home?" asked his mother.
"Yes..."
"Well get ready because we'll be going to go out for another doctor's appointment, and then we're going to have to run over and get you those measurments for that suit of yours!"
Everyday it was something new. John faked a smile, "Whatever you say mom," he sighed.

She quickly walked into her 'house'. She wiped the tears off of her face. She hope her grandmother didn't ask how school was. It was awful. She thought things would be different. She was wrong. Things weren't different they were worse. She sighed and walked slowly to her room.
Her grandmother looked up from her desk, watching as the sad spirited girl walked up the stairs. THough her grandmother was very spiteful toward this whole situation, she did feel a slight bit of pain for the girl. After all, she wasn't too happy with how her son had turned out, making his children an even bigger reason to be bitter. But she did have her reputation to hold up, and wasn't ready to be loving toward the girl till she was certain. "Ramona!" she yelled. A fearful Ramona came in quickly. "Yes ma'am?" "Send my granddaughter a glass of water or some refreshment, she looks de-hydrated,"
She blinked as tears came down her eyes. She wanted to end her life. She bit her lip. She knew that it wouldn't make anything easier. She hated how she thought things would be different. "Nothing is ever going to change." She whispered softly to herself. She was going to keep clam and keep her head up. Thats what she had to do.
A faint knock appeared on her door, followed by a small voice, "Ma'am? May I come in?"
Ramona entered quickly with a tall glass of cold koolaid. "I hope you like cherry koolaid, i'm surprised you're grandma allows me to buy it since she's so against sweet foods. But I thought you'd prefer it over just water." She paused noticing Elaine's saddened appearance. She sighed, "I know this is hard for you. But, we must all look past our pasts and rise to our futures. Though I'm not a good example." she gave a faint laugh, "Just don't look so down, you're face is to beautiful to look so sad."
"No that's not it." She said. She looked at her. "Thanks for the drink but I'm allergic to cherry." She whispered softly. "I just had a bad at school. Thought this boy was different but was wrong." She said."Thanks but my past is my present because it goes with me and tells me that I'm not good enough for anyone." She said.
Ramona quickly kneeled by the bedside, "No,no no madam! You mustn't think this way. One boy shouldn't have that power on you. Nor should anyone else. You're family may have givin you a rocky start. But I know you can pull through it." She stood back up, "I'll be back with some water."
"No listen to this I thought i had a friend." She said. She nodded her head. "Its ok." She whispered. "i don't need a family. And water would be nice."
Ramona nodded and went down stairs to fetch it. Outside, in the neighbor's yard. There, John angrily told his parents off as he threw the bench he once sat on out toward the fence. His father then came out yelling at John. "If you're not going to put in the effort, then just kiss this future away! I don't need any pathetic sons in my family!!" He walked back inside slamming the door. John sat on the grass as his eyes began to fill. He was so done with this life of rules and orders, his body filled with anger as he cupped his face in his hands.
She heard yelling. Her eyes widen some. She slowly peaked outside of the window. She saw the kid from the school. She slowly climbed down from her window. She walked over to him. "Hi." She whispered. She sat on the side where no one could see her. "How are you doing. I heard everything that happened. It takes courage to stand up." She whispered softly.
John nodded, still cupping his face. "I'm tired.... tired of living their way. Always getting pushed around by my own parents... And school's been terrible so they're threatening me with my inheritance..... But I don't want it or need it.." His face was still covered, mot wanting to show Elaine his sadness. pinching his face with hands as he removed them he faintly smiled at her with red tear filled eyes. "I'm sorry for today. I wasn't laughing at you, I was just in and awkward position." he wiped his eyes,
"If you need help with school I can could help you." She whispered. She smiled at him. "Its ok you have to calm down your giving them what you want. They know your going to be upset and they want to know you care so much about it." She said. She smiled some. "Its ok about that I'm used to it." SHe said trying to clam him down. She wiped the tears out of his eyes. "Listen I'm fine with everything but you can't let them see you care." SHe said.
As she touched his face his smile faded. His arm reached out to the side of her face. Leaning toward her, he closed his eyes and began to come in for a kiss. He didn't know her, but so far she had been the only person to actually connect with him. As he continued leaning toward her, his lips finally met hers. Her lips were so smooth as he slowly kissed them. His hand rose from her face to the back of her neck.
She smiled at him with a happy face. then she felt his lips on hers and she was happy. She felt like this was soon but she never been kissed before. She kissed him back softly. She relaxed against his touch. She didn't say anything else. She knew she would be dead if she was caught. "I should go my grandma would be so mad." She whispered against his lips but she didn't want to move.
His eyes still focused on hers as she pulled away, nodded, "Yeah, you should go." His hand leaving her back and resting back by his side. As he helped her stand back up he looked over at her and smiled, stroking her hair back, "Thank you.." was all he said. He then began walking back into his house where more yelling could be heard.
Ramona had come back and noticed the open window. Going to it, she saw outside was Elaine, "Elaine! what are you doing outside!?" she whispered, "you'll get chilly out there!"

She smiled some. "Thank you too and hey I'll see you tomorrow I guess." She smiled some and climbed back up. She saw Ramona. "I'm cheering a friend up please don't tell grandma anything about me being outside please." She looked at her with pleading eyes.
"No I would never tell!" she smiled, with still a concerned face. "But you must do these things later." she helped Elaine back inside through the window. "If you must leave to visit friends, then I suggest you do it during nine o'clock. Your grandmother goes to be about that time." She smiled patting the girl on the shoulder, "Your water is on your nightstand miss," she curtsied and left the room.
She nodded her head some more. She looked at her. "thanks." She was scared the way she looked at her like she did something sinful. She didn't say anything wrong. She was just kissing the cute next door neighbor. SHe smiled and fell on the bed. she was so happy.
Months flew by, and Elaine and John had become very close friends, in some ways, even closer than friends..
Night was now their favorite time, and once again, night had come,a light wind blew and the coolness of the night provided a clear cloudless sky. With the moon showing fully, it casted a light through Elaine's curtains. As she slept, a couple of clinks began to sound from her window. Outside her window was John, he was throwing little pebbles at her window, in hope she could come out once again. "Pssst! Elaine!" he smiled. Tonight was to be a special night.
((I hope you don't mind me fast forwarding! D: I couldn't resist!!))

((Thats so fine))She stretched some. She smiled some. She wonder what he had plan tonight. She slowly got up and climbed down the window. "What?" She smiled with a grin on her face. She ran to him instantly grabbing his hand wrapping her fingers around his. She looked at the moon. Her blonde hair flow in the moonlight. She looked in his eyes. She was so happy. SHe loved being with him. SO far she didn't get caught. She prayed she never did. She knew what would happen if she did get caught.
"I have a surprise!" He lead her toward his driveway where his car was. As they approached it, he opened her door for her. When he got into his seat he turned his key and started the car. Quickly getting out of the driveway, he headed out toward a newer place in town that Elaine had never been to. "You're going to love it," he smiled as he continued driving.
She looked at him with a smile. She nodded her head. She got in the car. "thank you." She said as he open the door. She looked at him some more. they haven't kissed since the first day they meant and that was awkward. She knew him and liked him now. She wasn't sure if he liked her liked that but she hoped that.
