On Tyranny:Twenty Lessons From the Twentieth Century -Timothy Snyder 4 stars
Lot’s of food for thought, lot’s of thoughts for action. At 128 pages, this book packs a lot in a very small space. I see it as an excellent teaching teaching tool. I wish I’d had the benefit of a teacher like Snyder. More than that, I wish either of my millennial children had a teacher like this as some point in their education. For myself, I felt these 20 lessons barely scratched the surface. Snyder reinforced my feeling that we do a very poor job of teaching history and civic responsibility in our public schools.
Lacking the advantage of having Timothy Snyder appearing personally in my living room ( so jealous, Jennifer), I’ve added a couple of his longer books to my mountainous tbr.
