The publication date is: February, 1997

Problem is, when you enter this ISBN into a search, this is the edition that pops up: https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/3...

I'm convinced the cover we have for ISBN 1-57322-579-7 is correct. Am I right in understanding that you are saying the same ISBN was used for this cover as well: ?

That's correct. If necessary I can provide photographic evidence, or something.

Not necessary. My guess is that the cover you have is the original and the one we have is a modern, maybe print-on-demand edition.
ETA: as a matter of fact, if you click in Amazon on the "look inside", you get your cover.
