If ever, recognition may not come momentarily and it takes time, sometimes years to get noticed. The problem is that even after years one may still remain unnoticed -:) Moreover, just sitting and waiting is not enough. One usually needs to actively increase exposure and pitch his/her book to potential readers through ads and other means.
I mean - magic happens when with relatively minimal effort a book picks up, but the rule is probably this - not very encouraging results despite serious promotional efforts.
Do you have a years-long patience and hope that one day a recognition will come or would you not bother much, if nothing much happens during some reasonable period of time?
Do you have a plan for a peaceful resolution of a Syrian crisis or at least - for promotion of your book?
