Kaje Harper | 17376 comments Here's an interesting list of one person's 100 Must-read LGBTQIA YA Books"?

I have to say that I wouldn't agree on all of these, and they seem to have missed most of the small press (like Harmony Ink) and indie books, but there are dozens of my favorites here:

Rez Delnava (rez_delnava) I'm glad to see A+E 4Ever on the list, but I agree that the list skews way towards mainstream presses. Curiously, it lists many with only supporting LGBT characters, but then omits Will Grayson, Will Grayson.

Also sad the song of Achilles didn't get in, I like tsoa because it's a great retelling and I thought it brought lots of attention to the idea sexuality has always been a part of history and wasn't something modern people made up. Also Madeline Millers writing is beautiful

Rez Delnava (rez_delnava) I really liked We Are the Ants, but I'm not sure if it's better than Five Stages of Andrew Brawley. The list writer mentioned that each author was only on there once (with few exceptions). So that would be a really hard choice for me, picking between Hutchinson's two books.

Ugh, going through the list a second time and there is not a single book published by Dreamspinner, no Tales from Foster High, and no Last of the Summer Tomatoes. It's like the writer willfully skipped Dreamspinner...

Kaje Harper | 17376 comments Will Grayson is an odd one to miss - but it might have been the one-per-author issue with Levithan since Two Boys Kissing is there?
Openly Straight is another one I expected and didn't see. (Given the big-press focus. Lots of good Harmony/Dreamspinner not there. YA is much more skewed to big presses and actual bookstore sales.)

Also, I'll Get There. It Better Be Worth the Trip by John Donovan. It's the very first gay YA novel from 1969!
