Quarterly Read-a-thon Friday 2nd June - Sunday 4th June 2017
I am hoping I can beat my last Quarterly Read-a-thon total.Finished reading Country at Heart by Mandy Magro - LP addition - 253 Pages
I'm starting on Ch 55 of Dust of the Land by J.H. Fletcher via audiobook. Not quite sure what page that would be in it's paperback/hardcover equivalent. I also want to start Liverpool Angels: A gripping saga of love and bravery during the First World War by Lyn Andrews later this evening. So starting on pg 1. :)
I'm a slow-ish reader (I get distracted halfway through a chapter and my mind wanders while I stare at the wall haha) so I'll only aim for 300 pages this weekend. But that's a decent effort for me.Currently reading Seven Ancient Wonders
I am in too if it's not too late - so far I have only read 20 pages. But I am off to bed to read more :) nice place to be when I am full of a cold and it's cold outside.
Currently reading The Bands of Mourning - Brandon Sanderson, and since midnight last night I've read 87 pages. I think I'll finish this one by tomorrow night!
Started and finished Peacemaker for 311 pages and am starting the next in the series Mythmaker , though I might not get far tonight.

I'll say wow! That's incredible!
Just finished Dust of the Land in audiobook format. "Read" from chapter 55 to the final chapter in 61. The paperback equivalent has 490 pages... anyone have any ideas as to how many pages the last six chapters would be??? I'm guessing somewhere around 50 pages, but I could be well off!
ETA: 56 pages of the afore-mentioned! Thanks so much Owl! :) xo

Here's what I do for audio books. Take the # of pages from the paperback and divide by the # of chapters in the audio book. (Some audio books do the chapters differently than the book) That gives you a # of pages / chapter. Round up or down if how you'd like.
Example. I'm currently listening to 1st to Die on audio. It has 462 pages but only 8 chapters! So 58 pages / ch. Why, is anyone's guess! So it's really tricky for me to get exact pages. For this read-a-thon I'm only adding pages once I finish the entire chapter.
So for this book 490÷61=8 pages per chapter.
8×7=56
So you guessed very well! Now you can add 6 more pages! Yeah! =o)
I know this is very specific, but there's no intention of insulting your intelligence here, Kylie!
I just wrote it all out so you can see all the steps clearly! Sometimes Li'l Owls think differently due to all the feathers!! Hope this helps! =o)
Hi everyone.Today's tally for me is 141 pages of Better than Fiction 2: True adventures from 30 great fiction writers
Happy reading, everyone!
...Never mind tomorrow night, apparently books are better than sleep anyway. I finished The Bands of Mourning and will start my next book tomorrow.Total so far:149 pages
Total pages for Friday: 80. Hoping to get more than that tomorrow as I'll have more time. Enjoying myself nonetheless!
A very quiet day at home yesterday. Mr Lugubrious went to Geelong for the AFL game, leaving me in peace. (His team won, so he's marginally less morose this morning!!!) I managed 566 pages for Friday, and hope to get a decent block of reading done today.
Friday total 119 pages. Started at page 94 of Joy of Living: Postponing the Afterlifeand now finished. Today I startRadical Passion: Sacred Love and Wisdom in Action
I have some serious catching up to do it seems! You guys are all so quick!Work all day yesterday and distracting work emails kept me down to only 60 last night.
My contribution is not going to be very high this weekend. A busy weekend unfortunately. Also, life has become very busy with a couple of additional roles and interests I have taken on.My reading total for Friday was:
Completed And Quiet Flows the Don - 75 pages
Continued Family Secrets - 82 pages
Total for Friday - 157 pages
Thanks Owl for the explanation on audio books and the page counting :) And well done MaryG2E on your great Friday total!
Some excellent totals coming in from everyone - have a great Saturday's reading as well :)

No as you go each day Kerri, then on Sunday night/Monday morning (whenever you've finished) put the grand total of the weekend's pages in a post. That way I can add the totals to the names and tally them up :)

Thank you so much for that great "how-to" Owl! I appreciate it. I "read" so many of my books in audio-book format, but until now, never had to give too much thought to working out how many pages that correlated to! :)
Hehe, no offence taken whatsoever, and I wasn't too far off at all! I'll most certainly add the 6 to the 50!
And, there are some remarkable number of pages being read! Mine will be quite low in comparison! Especially now that I've been called upon as a late replacement for a Professional Development course which is a good 2 hours away and I'll be leaving tomorrow afternoon in order to be there for the start on Monday. Oh well, I'll do my best! :)So far today I've read 60 pages of Liverpool Angels: A gripping saga of love and bravery during the First World War by Lyn Andrews.
Running Total so far: 116 pages
I can imagine when you arrive and finally "hit the sack" Kylie, you'll relax a little with your book ;) And don't worry - every little bit helps!
