Cindy | 5 comments I am fostering a 6 week old blind, grey tabby kitten. She is so sweet and lovable and I have no idea what to name her. I want her name to be something book related. Does anybody know any female blind characters, or names that reflect her fur color? Or anything geeky related?

message 2: by [deleted user] (new)

There is Jenna from Pretty Little Liars.

Lauren (laurcooper) | 8 comments Oh my gosh! That's so sweet, I'm so happy for you! I love my cats wayyy too much. (I have 3; Theodore, Lola and Tinkerbell)

Names wise, my first cat was grey/ ginger/ white and my mum and dad named her Pebbles (pebbles being a character from Flinstones).
There's Grey Wind from Game of Thrones (although that might be a bit of a mouthful for a kitty).
There are names that also mean 'blind' like Cece or Cecilia.
Personally I quite like Woolf for a cat after Virginia Woolf, probably because it's a bit different :):)
Hope you find a name soon!

Natalie Grace | 21 comments I highly suggest Luna from Harry Potter, that's what I named my kitty :) She's a grey tabby too!

Elizabeth ♛Smart Girls Love Trashy Books♛ (pinkhairedwannabe) | 102 comments Oh man, everyone has way better ideas than me....I was just going to say Smokey because I suck at names. Or Mouse.

message 6: by Martina (new)

Martina (karamazovsister) | 18 comments You can name her Lucy. Saint Lucy protects eyes, moreover Lucy from Narnia is an adorable character

Cassie 'The Thinker Go Go Go Go' Mis. Roben Goodfellow'\Isabelle Lightwood (cassiecrow) | 168 comments Sir Meow. or something like that, it's cute I think. Or Smokey.

message 8: by Wayward Skyril (new)

Wayward Skyril Asha means hope. It also sounds like "ash," which is gray.

message 9: by Wayward Skyril (new)

Wayward Skyril Congratulations on your sweetheart, by the way <3 :]

message 11: by Jez (new)

Jez (helloimjez) | 9 comments There's a blind seeress in a game I like called Theresa, which I think would actually be quite a cute name for a cat :) the game is Fable 2, if you're interested!

message 12: by — Massiel (new)

— Massiel (rollitosdecanela) | 2 comments I have three cats; Jeimi, Brandon (because of Game of Thrones's character since my cat is invalid -he has a bad leg-, and Dracarys (the name for fire in Game of Thrones)

I think you should name your cat with something that's value for you. All my pets have their names because is something value for my family and remains us of something.

message 13: by Grace (new)

Grace Trelawny lol????

message 14: by Sam (new)

Sam Chase (hernameisam) | 175 comments Church is a grey cat (the mortal instruments), but your kitten sounds immensely sweet- which Church is not. ;)

I'd also recommend Beth (Little Women), who wasn't blind but was sick and sweet like your kitten. And earlier someone suggested Asha, which I loved! Beautiful name! Let us know what you pick out :)

message 15: by sara (new)

sara (daggerandrosae) | 12 comments Your description reminded me of Jem from the infernal devices, so maybe jem as a short for jemma?

message 16: by Anita (new)

Anita (neet413) | 160 comments How about Hendrix? There was a movie some time ago where Audrey Hepburn played a blind woman named Suzy Hendrix. I believe the movie was "Wait Until Dark".

message 17: by Benjamin (new)

Benjamin Uke | 62 comments Gandalf... on account of him being grey?

message 18: by MixItUp! (new)

MixItUp! Name it Jay or Jayfeather

message 23: by tiberius (new)

tiberius (tiberiusbane38) Kemon pronounced Keemon just because it's a cool name

Emily Just Emily*~* | 52 comments Tiresias (Tie-Ree-See-Us)

was the blind prophet of Apollo in Thebes. He was famous for clairvoyance and was transformed into a woman for 7 years.

Not especially book related, but mythology is cool.
:)

That is an awesome name!

She who must not be named (she_who_must_not_be_named) Arya after Arya Stark from Game Of Thrones!
She's a brilliant character who works very hard to get what she wants and nothing can stand in her way . She went blind for a bit,but she sort of earned back her sight.

She who must not be named (she_who_must_not_be_named) Not from a book but there's this amazing character named "Toph" who's blind from this brilliant animated TV show - Avatar:The Last Airbender. Being blind hardly bothers her.
If you haven't watched it, watch it :P

OMG GREAT IDEA! I didn't even think of Toph- but why not?! I love her!

Oh my goodness I love Avatar! I am really liking that one!

message 33: by Cindy (new)

Cindy | 5 comments Man, so hard, I need more cats to give them all these cool names!

message 34: by Emmi (new)

Emmi Hermione's cat is called Crookshanks. I think that would be a cool name... (even though Crookshanks isn't gray)

message 35: by niamh (new)

niamh | 30 comments reading the comments somebody mentioned Asha which sounds so cute and perfect XD

message 36: by MixItUp! (new)

MixItUp! Bugsbeak? Or Hippogriff.

Bugsbeak, your little Hippogriff

message 37: by Hanna (new)

Hanna Jenny is the name of a blind girl in Adventures in Odyssey.

She who must not be named (she_who_must_not_be_named) I'm curious... did you decide?

message 39: by Pixye (new)

Pixye I mean, this might sound a little obvious, but how about Annabeth from Percy Jackson? She's not blind, but her mom is Athena, the goddess of wisdom and all, and somehow Athena is always associated to the color grey in my mind. Or you could call her Athena. Or Artemis, she's really cool too. I also really liked how someone said Asha, or you could have Ash as short for Asha or Ashley.

message 40: by Fishface (last edited Jun 30, 2017 12:48PM) (new)

Fishface Cassandra was a blind prophetess from Greek mythology (or "Cassie" for short?). See Bullfinch's Mythology: The Age of Fable.
In the same book you can find Tiresias, another blind prophet.
The Dust Witch in Something Wicked This Way Comes is a cool character, and "Dusty" would match the kitteh's fur...
How about "Keller," or her teacher "Annie," as in The Miracle Worker? They were both blind.

Other blind characters:
Daredevil -- a name that describes most kittens accurately

Libra, also from the comics:

Or "Archer," as in the Blind Archer comic character?

message 41: by Fishface (new)

Fishface "Lee" is also a good general name, and Lee Truax is the name of the blind heroine of A Dark Matter.

message 42: by Brittany (new)

Brittany Walker (brittanywalker) | 37 comments How about Jem from The Infernal Devices or Annabeth (or anna) from Percy Jackson?

Yasmin (yazg.books) ✨ (yazgbooks) | 14 comments You might not have read this but there's a book called Jennie, she's a grey tabby and it's about her and a white tom cat named Peter. I reccomend reading it, I enjoyed it and sobbed for three hours after I read it, I promise you I'm not over exaggerating I was really emotional. So I say name her Jennie, but I'm sure you could come up with something wonderful for her.

Also really geeky name but I've always wanted to name my next cat Zelda. I have two kitties named Majestic and Storm, just thought I'd say their names also.

message 47: by Brittany (new)

Brittany Walker (brittanywalker) | 37 comments You could also name her Professor Mcgonagall ;)
