Please keep all discussion and speculation to the events of Part 6 (Chapters 27-32).

No spoiler tags required. Though it would be highly appreciated if you Uncheck Add to my Update Feed to avoid accidentally spoiling this for your good read friends.

Please do not discuss events from later chapters/books. Referring back to events from a previous section/book is fine.

So as expected, the daughter of the nine moons was really a trap. She was really Semirhage in disguise. Lucky for Rand, Nyneave and Cadsuane are able to detect the deception. However Rand ends up losing his left hand.

This section also ends on an interesting note with Elayne being taken prisoner by Black Ajah. I'm not really sure what she was thinking with her plan to take them with just 4 of them. Especially when she suspected one or more of the Aes Sedai with her to be Black Ajah as well.

I forget what happens next, so I'll be curious to find out.

Oh yeah, and our long suffering of Perrin and his rescue of Faile is finally at an end. I really just hated that whole subplot and I'm glad it's finally over. I really liked Perrin at the start of the series. This subplot really hurt that for me.

Roland or whatever his name got what he deserved. I guess we're supposed to like him because he doesn't try to rape Faile? Instead he tries to talk her into adultery instead?

Also, I wonder if Faile finds out about Morgase in disguise. No one realized she passed out because of the forkroot water. Oops.

I was glad to see that Galina got her Kharma and was being dragged by Therava back to the waste..

Sumant | 522 comments I agree with you regarding Perrin, that his story seems to be going on and on, and his character has gone downhill especially in this book as he doesn't care for anyone else except Faile.

I hope Sanderson kills this couple in coming books. Also Aram is dead thanks to Maesema & Perrin. I consider his death Perrin's fault because I don't think he tried hard enough for Aram.

Roland actually saves Faile, and when Perrin kills him in the battle she doesn't give a damn about Roland.

Rand loses his hand but he mentions that he can still feel it. What does that mean exactly ?

Also Lewis Therin now actively seizing one power from him is not good for him.

Perrin & Faile have taken the crown for me from Elayne regarding worst characters in WOT.

I'm not sure I lay all the blame for Aram's death at Perrin's feet, but his neglect of anything but his quest to get Faile back is certainly a good portion of it.

I also disagree that Faile doesn't give a damn about Roland. I think she's just being pragmatic. She didn't love him, and she was using him to help her escape, but she's not quite that cold.

From what I've read, phantom limbs are a common phenomena. I'm not sure that there is more significance to it than that. I guess we'll see though.

Derek | 3 comments Yes, glad the Faile rescue story line is over. Glad that Roland thing didn't move anywhere except to the grave. Let's face it, what he did along with the rest of his tribe was to enslave thousands of people. His 'rescuing' of Faile was to satisfy himself, not to help her.
