Kathy E | 3313 comments I read this book for week 15, a book written or set in Scandinavia. This book, which is part of a classic trilogy by the author, is part historical fiction (14th century Norway) and quite a bit of romance. I liked it so much that I've added the other two books to my TBR.

Note: Sometimes this book is called just The Wreath.

Goodreads summary:
The acknowledged masterpiece of the Nobel Prize-winning Norwegian novelist Sigrid Undset, Kristin Lavransdatter has never been out of print in this country since its first publication in 1927. Its story of a woman's life in fourteenth-century Norway has kept its hold on generations of readers, and the heroine, Kristin—beautiful, strong-willed, and passionate—stands with the world's great literary figures. Volume 1, The Bridal Wreath, describes young Kristin's stormy romance with the dashing Erlend Nikulausson, a young man perhaps overly fond of women, of whom her father strongly disapproves.

Kathy E | 3313 comments Yes! Will do.

Chrissy | 1137 comments I read this a while back, and might finish the trilogy for my “long book” next year... I liked but didn’tlove it. What did you think?

Kathy E | 3313 comments I read the first two books of the trilogy and plan to read the third, Kristin Lavransdatter 3: The Cross, hopefully in 2021. I really enjoyed both books I've read so far. They weren't fast reads, but I loved the medieval setting and the characters. I hope you enjoy the rest of the trilogy if you decide to read them.
