The Devil of Light follows Detective Cassie Elliot of the Arcadia police force. The story revolves around murders that are conducted by members of a cult known as the Church of the True Believers. Yet the cult is not the only problem. A weak sheriff and media frenzy are destroying the trust within the department.

Cassie herself is an interesting character. The victim of a rape, she switched from accounting to police work. Her ultimate goal is to find the person who assaulted her. What she plans to do to him is still up in the air. Another point of interest is the Church of the True Believers itself doesn't know how deep the evil within it goes.

This book was a real page-turner for me. What did everyone else think?

My vote is for page turner! While I find pleasure in other literary features, I admit I love books where I can't put them down because of the action. I found the angle of the cult very interesting. I always do, because of my background in mental health. I also love detective stories. I guess Barney Miller made an impression on me when I was a kid.

I guess I'll stop here. My age is showing. ;) lol Good pick, Kurt.

It's always interesting when some of the bad guys don't realize that the other bad guys have really crossed the line.

I also find Cassie's attempt to deal with her own inner demons intriguing.
