A Clash of Kings
question
How should I read this book?

I read the first book last year and had the most fun time. I was smitten and wanted to pounce on the next book as soon as possible, but then I thought I'd better read all of them when the series is complete.
Now I can't ignore GOT, and I can't and don't want to watch the series. I'm dying to start this book, but I think I wouldn't remember anything from the first book. So, umm, can anybody help me with the best possible course that I can take?
I know someone must have already posted such topic, but I can't look it up without coming across a multitude of spoilers. I'm sorry for the inconvenience I may have caused!

Just get the Audiobooks, after a while the characters come back to you.
Are you sure you don't want to watch the show's first season? The first season of GOT actually follows the first book VERY closely. I watched the show first and it was what got me into the books. It really helped with visualizing the characters and the story line.
If not, what I would do is read this:
http://www.sparknotes.com/lit/a-game-...
It breaks every chapter into summaries and no risk of spoilers!

Well, you could re-read book 1, or, you could just read the Book 1 summary; it has no spoilers for future books, just spoilers for the first book.

Been there. But don't worry, once you start reading everything will come back to you. You don't have to keep track of every person (this is impossible) and every event in this series. Some of the major events are repeated through different POVs so you would always be able to follow the main story.
And anyway, if all you need is a refresh, why don't you just go to Wikipedia and just skim through the summary once.
