Wonderful writing and a wonderful story - emotional and haunting, full of tradition and humanity.
(Far from being depressing, I found it uplifting)
5 stars.

As far as I know with the fast-reading-techniques it's possible to read up to 100,000 pages per month. I was wondering that same think some years ago as well.
The other thing I noticed in some of my challenges is that many of the Asian readers have often much higher page counts and I was wondering if they have different kind of page formats due to their scripture or if they just need to space to express the same thought (German translation of English book are usually about 40 percent longer only due to the language differenc) - perhaps Amber can help to answer that question.
Agnieszka, that is so interesting to me! I've notice how much shorter English is to, say, German and Spanish when the translations are next to each other. Aren't Asian symbols made up of words rather than letters? That would seem to make reading much faster!

The women in this book became very real to me, and they will stay in my mind for a long time. I was glad to witness their accounts.
Finished reading And Then There Were None and I absolutely loved it. Thanks :)

Also looking forward to reading Dark Matter, but then I also have to read The Stand, so lets see how it goes.
I have finished my June selection, Close Your Eyes. I am glad you all selected this one. Great writing and a pretty good mystery. I can recommend this one.

I am about 25% through my June read Presumed Guilty. It is so so. It will be a quick read. She is one of my favorite authors, but this was before she was mainstreamed and just wrote some mediocre romance novels. So it is predictable and cliche, but am happy to read it and knock it off my list.
