I'm nearing completion of my second novella so I'm not the most experienced as far as advice goes. I'll know more when I publish again but I think my strategy worked well enough. I didn't really focus on the launch. I really focused on getting reviews then I did some promotions about a month after I published. Amazon will give your book a bit of visibility when it first launches and of course initial sales only help you stay afloat in the ranks but I thought I should pull out the promo big guns once the organic boost began to die down. This is in no way advice just sharing. I think I may do the same when I publish at the end of the month.Congrats on finishing your book and I'll be checking this thread to see what others have to say. Best of luck!!
I've never done FB stuff but I find doing takeovers always give me some loyal readers. I would kill for a Bookbub ad (instead, I'm just submitting once a month till they cave and take my money haha) but ENT is pretty much the best option for paid ads outside of BB. Bargain Booksy was pretty fab for me too, but has mixed reviews from some other members here.
And congrats, Miss TL!!

I have never had much success with actual ads but I have only run 2 Facebook ads! You all are probably tired of hearing about this I have mentioned it quite a few times in a few different places but I have found that Facebook takeovers really do help gain exposure! I do probably one a week sometimes more I had 2 in one day on Saturday! Lol. Another thing that worked well and will probably work better for you TL because they use a bunch of PNR blogs is a release day blitz with Xpresso! It worked out well for me but they are a bit pricey and others have said that they weren't happy but they did exactly what they said they would and the rafflecopter giveaway had a bunch of entries! That's just my two cents! Oh and hugs!!!
I've tried out a couple of different things and I would have to say the only thing that has really gotten results is running sales and doing paid promos to promote it, ENT has been the best, Bargain Booksy and Free Booksy were also good, Red Roses Romance and Book Adrenalin were also pretty good and much cheaper. And of course approaching bloggers for reviews is definitely a must! And of course . . .
Thanks everyone.
OK, so I'm making notes here.
I think I'm doing some stuff right at least, so that's good.
The hugs are much appreciated.
Okay...newb question. What is ENT?I tried two FB ads, and the results were questionable. I'm certain it's kind of a scam.
I just paid for an ad with Bargain Booksy, it runs June 13. And I currently have one going with Amazon, just bought it yesterday so the results are unknown.
Has anyone tried Tweeting services? I'm on the fence.
I need to find the right bloggers , I haven't really searched that out much! And I am writing down the others mentioned here!
Ereader News Today is ENT. They're great, but can be selective. I've had good results with Bargain Booksy, so I hope you do well with them. Freebooksy is awesome! For Twitter services, Ask David is a good one and I think they're worth the small fee.
I don't love FB ads. I agree with Mistress Ann that doing takeovers is the best with that.
Bloggers are key. For my first book, I emailed over a 100. Most didn't respond, but I did get some and now I have some incredible loyal bloggers that generously hook me up whenever I release a book. Find ones that review in your specific genre, follow their submission rules and go for it.
Re: Bargain Booksy Personally, I've gotten good results with these guys (pretty much 2nd only to ENT if you discount Bookbub cuz...yeah, whole nother ballgame haha). That said, I've heard mixed reviews about them from other authors...?
Re: Amazon Ads Okay, here's where my OCD got the best of me. I tried an ad but then canceled it a couple days in cuz I wasn't a fan of the way they billed for services. That's a dumb reason, I know LOL
Re: Bloggers Yes! So much yesss!! There's a blogger folder in here that should get you started, Miss Alyne ^_~

I signed up with Ask David, and my first tweets ran yesterday. I had a really nice day sales wise! Thanks everyone for the suggestions!

I'm not new to self-publishing, but I've made a lot of mistakes, which hopefully I've learned from.
What I'm after is TRIED AND TESTED ads that you've used, please.
Which ones worked the best (Twitter paid ads vs Bookbub for example).
Obviously, I'll be offering ARC copies, running the gauntlet of book bloggers, trying to get many reviews.
And I'll be plaguing fb groups like mad with my mad posting skills ;-)
But if you have any other tips for a successful book launch I'm all ears.
I really really want to give this duology its best chance at success.
(feeling nervous)
Maybe I just need you to hug me and hod my hand??
