Yesss! <3<3<3 They're so good, I remember reading them in school and my friend got Abhorsen in the US, it wasn't out in Ireland yet and it was the MOST EXCITING THING
I reread the original trilogy this summer (then proceeded to read Clariel, Goldenhand, and Across the Wall as well)! They are just soooo effin good. A major character in the DnD campaign I DM is inspired by them!
Do we know of any official illustrations of Charter Marks? I think they'd make a wonderful tattoo, but I can't find anything official about what they look like, except the ones on the book covers. Any help would be appreciated!
I pumped out Sabriel yesterday and loved it and I'm enjoying Lireal even more! “Please," said Lirael..."I think I would like to work in this Library."
"The Library," repeated Sanar, looking troubled. "That can be dangerous to a girl of fourteen. Or a woman of forty, for that matter.”
What a line. I've died and gone to some sort of literary afterlife. Spirits Podcast is the gift that keeps on giving.
Fully obsessed with these - I re-read the first two, finally read Abhorsen, and then got to Clariel and To Hold the Bridge for the first time this year. My coworker and I got our additional coworker into them as well! As soon as I pick up these, I struggle to put them down.
Also to reply to Olivia -- I concur, I think they would make an amazing tattoo! The only official ones I've seen are the ones on the covers of the books. "To Hold the Bridge" has a lot more charter marks on its cover since the first piece in it is a novella that takes place in the Old Kingdom.

I actually just featured this in a fun listicle I put together for epic fantasy books! I haven't read it yet but I plan on it. Amanda's rave reviews about it on Spirits are what inspired me to add it and seek it out! If any one wants to read my article you can find it here:
