Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments Chase had a glass or two of whisky when sailor padded into the room. Apparently she hadn't been able to sleep, and chase wasn't surprised. "I didn't have you pegged as someone who drank." She said snarkily to him. He just gave her a glance and replied in a tired voice, "well, I have my moments, and I never get drunk as I limit myself, but sometimes I need a drink. Care to join?" Maybe he was a little buzzed, or maybe he was using bad judgement as it probably wasn't a good idea to offer alcohol to a wildly unstable sailor, but he did anyway. She looked at him, trying to decide if he was kidding, but seeing he wasn't, she grabbed a glass and held it out to him. He poured her a drink, and clicked another song on. "You know, I never understood why some people drink their problems away, but I can see the appeal now. It must be nice, to be able to give up like that. Lord knows we were never afforded the option." He said wistfully.

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments Chase pushed away sailors hand and replied, "I've shared a drink with Tomb before, when you almost killed her, but she doesn't know I'm drinking now though, I'm sure she will once she gets home. It's not like I'm hiding it." He replied, and at that exact moment, Tomb walked in with a choke hold on some poor guy. Chase wasn't even phased, but he was curious. "What have you got there Tomb? Poor guy looks like he's being strangled. Come on it, we can all sit down for a drink." He said. He wasn't drunk, but he could feel a warm feeling rising in his chest. He decided he should probably cut himself off so h stood up and walked over to the guy to get a closer look at him. He had a black eye, and he was gasping for air because of tombs iron grip. "I see you've already hit him, that's good. What does he want?" Chase asked.

message 353: by Mac (new)

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments This caught chases attention as he sat next to tomb, sizing the man up. The guy was a bit taller than him and he had what looked like black military fatigues. "The government has a mission for us huh? So now we are just henchman that do peoples dirty work? Nuh uh, I don't think so. You can ask us nicely to please help you out, but we aren't helping unless you've got a very good reason. You can't just put us on an island and ignore us, and then come and nonchalantly ask for a few of us to go on a dangerous mission, like we are just supposed to be waiting for your orders, falling over ourselves to fulfill them. So, think carefully on your next words, why exactly do you need us?" He asked, narrowing his eyes at the man and giving him a sneer.

message 354: by Mac (new)

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments Chase glanced up at the guy and replied, "so you need us to what you guys can't huh? I guessed that much. If we came, we'd need, Neus for sure, but we'll have to see how he's doing with that broken arm." Chase said, pondering how exactly they could pull it off. It was definitely doable and he definitely wanted a chance to get back on the mainland, but what would they get out of it? Sent back here to rot until they found another mission for them to do? "Say we do this, and say we succeed, what then? We get sent back here to waste away? That doesn't seem like it's very fair, is risking our lives and getting nothing for our troubles." He said, giving the man a piercing look.

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments Chase knew that was the best offer they were going to get, but still it wasn't a very good one. He thought on it and decided he wanted to see his family, even if it was just for a little bit. He gave Tomb a look and then turned to Jefferson, "Fine, I'll go, and I'm assuming Tomb is too. We'll meet you on the beach at the north side of the island in 3 hours. We just need to get people." He replied, sounding a little more confident that he actually felt. Tomb gave him a squeeze that told him that she was with him and that made him feel a lot better. The fact that he also might see his family soon helped a little as well. Oh man, what would he tell them? Hey mom, hey dad, I've been at a superhero camp and have been fighting other super heroes and now I'm gonna go save people on an explosives rigged ship. That crap didn't fly with his parents. Then he gave a laugh, after all he'd done it didn't matter what his parents thought. It was funny to him that he'd thought about what he'd tell his mom and dad. That was the least of his worries.

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments "Hey, that's my girlfriend you're talking about." He said, glaring at Jefferson. "Anyway, we'll be there, in four hours I guess. Tomb is right, she'll need her rest." And with that, he waved his hand, indicating for the guy to leave. He heard him walk into sailors room, and then directed his attention to tomb. She was going to be fussy when she woke up, but if he did it softly, maybe rubbing her shoulders or tracing hearts on her she wouldn't be so grumpy. And he was sure she could sleep on the ride to the boat too. He situated her in the crook of his arm and laid down, holding her close. He set an alarm and fell asleep. When it went off, he quickly turned it off and looked at Tomb. She was still sleeping, so he started rubbing her shoulders and when she started to wake up, he gave her a soft kiss on the lips. She tried to go back to bed, but he was patient with her.

message 357: by Mac (new)

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments Chase sighed, he wasn't going to make her get out of bed. He packed everything up for them, and went and talked to Neus. Alana was there with him trying to get him to move his fingers, but instead of doing his exercises, he was hitting on her with a stupid grin. He talked to the two of them, and told them what was happening. They agreed to come, as Neus was healing well, and he would only have to disguise their approach. Alana could definitely be useful with her telekinesis, so chase had invited her too. When he got back, tomb was still sleeping, h guessed he wasn't going to be able to get her up, so he just slung on their backpacks and scooped her up gently. Man! she must've been tired if she was letting him carry her.

message 358: by Mac (new)

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments Finally, when Tomb, chase, Neus, and Alana were ready, he led them off into the woods. after a short while, they came to a helicopter. Chase put Tomb in the seat next to him and looked back towards camp. He hoped everything would be ok. He'd made arrangements with mars to watch over sailor and to make sure no one hurt her and vice versa. The helicopter took off and they were airborne, cutting through the dark morning sky. Chase could hardly believe they were already headed back to the real world, to his family. He held tomb in his arms as she slept, making sure she didn't fall out of her seat. He felt bad that she'd gotten so little rest, but apparently there were people in danger, and he was eager to show Tomb the outside world.

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments "Me? Well, I'm headed back to Minnesota. See my sister and parents. They weren't happy with my disappearance. And who knows, maybe I'll be able do skate at the hockey rink or go on one of my old running routes. That's where I'm headed." He replied, hoping he'd make it back alright. The helicopter ride was a couple hours long and somehow Tomb slept straight through it. When they landed chase looked around to see where they were but all he saw was miles and miles of fields. He woke up Tomb who protested some more. "Cmon baby, it's time to get up. We're... well.... I don't know where we are." He said, tracing hearts on her shoulder and trying to get her to wake up. She definitely was not s morning person, that's for sure.

message 360: by Mac (new)

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments Chase, was glad he'd finally gotten Tomb up. He gave her a kiss and then turned to Jefferson. "so, where are we?" He asked, looking around at the arid field with sparse grass and dry shrubs. "Were close enough to where we need to be. Well be leaving for your mission in five hours. The FBI have managed to stabilize the situation, so that gives us some time." Explained Jefferson. Chase nodded as he spoke, "what is the plan as of right now. I've got a few ideas but I'm assuming you want us to do a specific thing." Chase said. Jefferson just shook his head and replied, "nope, it's up to you four. We don't know what plan would work for you guys and your powers. We're putting a lot of trust in you." Jefferson said to the group.

message 361: by Mac (new)

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments "Check the side pockets love, I put one of your leather jackets on there and a t-shirt." Replied chase giving a dirty look at Neus. They arrived at an outpost with tents and people on radios, talking loudly and giving orders. When the people saw them, all activity in the camp stopped. They all watched as the newcomers arrived. Chase felt like an animal on display as everyone looked at him and he did not appreciate it. Someone barked a command and they all put their heads down and went about their various jobs. A stately man with skin that looked like worn leather strode up to them and offered a sulfur, then continued on to say, "I am General Watson, at your service. It seems the cavalry has arrived. We hapear you are going to help us." Said the man. Chase gave him a look and said, "it seems to me it's more like you are helping us."

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments ((Thank you))

message 363: by Mac (new)

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments General Watson gave chase a steely look, and chase knew he wasn't used to getting any talk back from people he interacted with, but chase didn't care. They glared at each other, and when Jefferson finally broke the silence, the general nodded, telling Jefferson to take them to their temporary quarters. Chase broke his stare with the General and followed Jefferson, towards a tent at the edge of the little camp. They walked inside and were then left alone. They all looked around but it was just a tent with cots lining the walls. Chase sat down and Tomb flopped down next to him. In the center of the tent, there was a table with pictures and a blue print and some schematics. They must've been of the ship, he dragged one off the table and sat back down next to tomb studying it.

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments "I know, I don't like it either. Don't worry we won't be here long baby. Once this is all over, um, I'd love to take you to meet my family. If you'd like of course. I mean, uh, you know..." he said, trailing off, kind of nervous about the whole idea. Would Tomb be ok with it? He knew she wasn't really comfortable with meeting people and he wasn't sure if it would make her sad or uneasy meeting his family. He knew his family would like her, especially his mom. Tomb was one of the girls his mom would say, "that girl has some attitude." While secretly approving of her. His mom liked girls that he met that weren't quite conventional and Tomb fit that perfectly. Heck his mom might not even notice the black eyes and pale skin, and he had a strange feeling that Tomb would like his mom.

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments ((I agree, saw the opportunity and took it. Sorry it took so long, I was at a track meet.))

Chase smiled, she had agreed, and that made his spirits soar. "Awesome, and yes, lets. Now, based on these pictures, we should be able to take a small speed boat around the side and climb the ladder, or have you fly us up. Neus will disguise our approach and our ascent on board. But he will stay back, hiding our getaway ride. I'll take point once on board, in metal form in case bullets start flying. Once on board, we find the detonator. According to the side notes here, it's a dead mans switch, so as soon as the one holding it let's go, it blows up. We will find him and attack quickly. I'll go at him first, you go right behind me, using me as a shield, and Alana will use her telekinesis to keep the button pressed. Once we are close, you jump out from behind me and kill the unlucky bastard. I'll take a knife and a rifle so we can shoot back. How does that sound?" He asked, laying out his rough idea of a plan.

message 366: by Mac (new)

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments ((That's so cool!))

Chase looked at him and nodded. It was time to do this. As they walked, he asked Jefferson for a gun and after a little convincing he was handed a military grade m4 assault rifle. He grabbed a chest rig to hold a few more magazines, and another knife. Chase was no stranger to guns, as part of his intrigue in fighting styles inevitably led to a fascination in fire arms. He slid a magazine into the mag well, racked the bolt which chambered a round, and checked to be sure it was on safety. He had his metal in his shoe, knife on his leg and chest rig, and now an assault rifle. They were led onto another helicopter, and flown about 30 min south to a large bay. There was a boat in the middle with military water craft surrounding it. "Ok, everybody knows the plan, stay close, to cover, use your powers efficiently and effectively, and don't die. Be careful." He said, looking at his team. They landed and were herded towards some boats.

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments ((A bay port in Laredo, about to lead an assault on the ship. Using speed boats to get to the ship. Sorry if I wasn't clear, my b!))

message 368: by Mac (new)

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments They were loaded into the boat, and the made a circle around their objective. Chase directed the driver on where to go, and told him to stay there until they got back. As their speedboat was turned toward the ship, neus turned them invisible. As they closed the gap of about 500 yards to the target, chase said a quick prayer, asking for the protection of his friends and the people on board. As they pulled up, chase slung his rifle over his shoulder and grabbed the ladder, to anchor them to the boat. He started climbing, giving a backward glance, but he couldn't see anything. He gave a whistle indicating he was on the ladder. He turned upwards and started to climb. When he got to the top, he swung unto the deck behind a guard. He quietly shoved him overboard and, still invisible, clicked his weapon off of safety.

message 369: by Mac (new)

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments As they crept towards the center of the boat, chase noticed wires running all through the boat, down the halls, along the corridors, and into rooms. He saw red blinking lights on blocks of what looked like plastic explosives attached to walls, steel beams, and doors. There were enough explosives to tear this place apart and then some. They were coming up on a larger area and he stopped moving. He felt a hand on his shoulder, but couldn't see it. He gave a click with his mouth and heard the shuffling behind him stop. He peeked around the corner and what he saw was a scary scene. They had made it into the ship and had come across a cafeteria area where the hijackers had gathered the hostages. They were in a huge group all huddled in the center with a ring of guards around them, yelling in an odd language. One particularly nasty guy was walking around, shouting orders with a clenched fist. Then chase realized that he must have the button. It looked bleak, but then again, they had a few things going for them.

message 370: by Mac (new)

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments Chase told Neus to stay there as him Tomb and Alana advanced. They would need to take out all of these guards quickly and efficiently without allowing anyone to open fire on the hostages. They were within twenty yards of the man when he turned to Alana and tomb. "Hey," he whispered, "tomb, take out the man with the switch and kill him, securing the button. Alana, keep that button pushed until you know Tomb has it. I'll open fire on the guards as you take them out with your knives. We need to stop them from getting a shot off. Alana, when I tell you, use your telekinesis to eject the magazines from their guns. Once you do that, we attack. Magazines, secure the button attack, ok?" He repeated. They clicked in agreement. "Ok, as soon as the mags hit the floor, we attack." He said. He waited for a tense five seconds, then all of the hijackers magazines fell from the guns. Chase opened fire.

message 371: by Mac (new)

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments Chase was relieved when the firing stopped. Their assault had gone according to plan and everyone was alright. All of the hostages were screaming and crying, and when chase, tomb, Alana, and Neus became visible they backed away screaming. "Woah, woah! Everybody calm down! We are here to help. I need you all to come with me so we can get you off this ship!" He called, trying to settle them down. Eventually, they got everyone on the deck of the ship and helicopters swarmed around the ship, evacuating everyone. Chase and the others were the last to be evacuated. As they flew out, he put an arm around tomb, who was still holding the button. "How are they going to disarm the ship?" He asked. The pilot called over his shoulder, "like that" and a few seconds later, an explosion tore through the air, turning night into day. They had blown it up with a torpedo, not even bothering to disarm it.

message 372: by Mac (new)

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments ((Just a heads up, I won't be able to respond for a good part of tomorrow due to a track meet.))

Chase had said bye to Alana and Neus, and then went to check on the status of the hostages. Before he left, the general walked up to him and handed a wad of hundred dollar bills and smiled saying, "here, we'd like to thank you for, uh, letting us help, and I think we'll leave you alone for a week or two. Don't do anything stupid." Chase accepted the money, and thanked the General, then went to the tent they were given. When he walked in, tomb sat up, poking him into the chest and demanding new clothes. Chase just laughed and replied, "well, I never pegged you for a girl that liked shopping. And I don't know what store sells your kind of clothing." She smirked and gave him a light punch. He smiled and put an arm around her. "I got us a helicopter out of here and then we can take a cab the rest of the way. They guys gave me a gps that will take us back to camp when we're ready, and some money." He added, showing her the wad of bills.

message 373: by Mac (new)

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments ((No worries! Too much writing?))

"Well, I'm sure we can go now it if we want, but it is gonna be one hell of a road trip to Minnesota. But hey, we can rent a car instead of a cab and I'm up for a good road trip. Let's do it." Chase said smiling. He looked at Tomb again who seemed really nervous. "Hey baby, you got nothing to worry about ok? Everything is going to be fine. Camp is in good hands, were done with our mission, and my parents will love you. Let's just have a little fun and relax ok? Come here baby." He said, wrapping her in a hug. They stayed like that for a little while and then he said to her, "you ready? It's almost morning, and once we fly into Laredo, we can get you some clothes and we can pick up a rental car. Ok?" She nodded so chase grabbed their stuff and lead her out to the air strip. He found a pilot who had some time on his hands, and in no time they were up in the air.

message 374: by Mac (new)

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments Chase could tell that Tomb was having a rough go at it and he felt bad for her. He didn't know what to say to her and it seemed like she really didn't want to talk to him. He decided that he best stay silent and just be there for her if she wanted to talk. When they came up on Laredo, a city with sparkling lights and somewhat of a sprawled cityscape, he nudged Tomb. She looked at if but made no expression. The pilot set them down at the airport where they were escorted to a rental car service. Chase got them a Cadillac SUV and peeled some 100's off of his cash wad. He still had plenty left, and he didn't think he could run out even if he had a few weeks to spend it all. He lead Tomb to their car and loaded up. He pulled out of the airport and found the nearest mall on the list. There they were in downtown Laredo, like a couple of normal young adults.

message 375: by Mac (new)

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments They had entered the mall and were looking around it, wondering where exactly in this maze of stores, booths, and food courts they should start. Tomb had suggested he get something for himself, so he looked around for a store he liked. When they were walking, he saw a gap and decided to grab a pair of jeans from there, and when they went by a von mar, he saw a pea coat he liked. It was a grey pea coat and he thought it looked pretty good, so he got that too. Tomb hadn't shown any interests in any stores yet, so they walked on. Chase saw a shoe store and grabbed a pair of black combat boots. He found a bathroom and changed into his new purchases as people were giving him odd looks with his torn jacket and shredded pants. He put on everything and walked out. Tomb smiled widely at him and he said, "oh cmon, I can't look that bad! Cmon, we need to find some clothes for you."

message 376: by Mac (new)

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments Tombs mood hadn't improved at all and he could tell she wasn't happy. He tried to help and comfort her, but she would just shrug him off. When they got in the car chase turned on the radio and found a classic rock station. He stopped by a dunkin doughnuts and bought two breakfast sandwiches and two doughnuts. He ate his quickly, as did tomb. Then they were on the road, barreling north towards Minnesota. He figured it would take a day or two to get there so he plugged in a hotel about 10 hours away and off they went. It was going to be a long ride but the Cadillac was nice and roomy, so it wasn't so bad. Tomb dozed off for the first four hours, sleeping pretty heavily, even when he stopped for gas. He passed the time mostly by looking at license plates and singing some of the songs that came on.

message 377: by Mac (new)

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments Chase checked the gaps when she asked how long. They had been going for a while now and it was starting to get dark. "We've got about an hour and a half before we reach the hotel love. Not too long. And as far as driving, of course I know how to drive. I got my license when I was sixteen like the other high schoolers. It's pretty fun, and not too hard to learn at all. Maybe I'll show you sometime." He said with a little chuckle. He was glad Tomb was in a better mood, and because of this, he was able to smile. Tomb was sprawled in the back, and for the rest of the ride, she mostly stretched and occasionally leaned forward to place a kiss on his ear. When they finally got to the hotel, chase was tired from driving all day.

message 378: by Mac (new)

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments Chase smiled as Tomb relaxed into the comfortable bed. It was his turn to shower now so he hopped in and cleaned himself. When he got out, tomb was still watching tv and enjoying the soft bed. He changed not his pjs and flopped down next to her and let out a sigh. He was quite tired as driving all day proved to be extremely challenging. His eyes were already heavy when he laid down next to her, so he let Tomb cuddle up with him, and then he drifted off. He could feel Tomb tracing his scars as he did so. Not so long ago he'd gotten those scars, though it really seemed like years. How was he going to explain all of this to his parents? He decided to think about it later, as he was too tired to really solve any problems like that. And with that, he fell asleep.

message 379: by Mac (new)

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments Chase awoke to a cat licking his face and ears. He groaned, but Tomb was persistent and did not let up. He sighed and opened his eyes and Tomb changed back to herself. He pulled her down to him and gave her a soft kiss saying, "that's what I call starting the day right." She smiled at him and gave a small laugh which, in turn, made chase smile. It was early in the morning, and he felt tired but according to the clock he'd slept about six hours. He lay there for a little bit longer until Tomb started bugging him again and made him get up. Another days drive and they would only be a few hours from his home. They would sleep in a hotel one more night and then surprise his family the next day. He got up, brushed his teeth and got dressed, ready for some more driving.

message 380: by Mac (new)

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments Chase smiled at her new trick. Sometimes he forgot how impressive tombs natural skills and talents were. They ate a good breakfast and loaded up the car for the long drive. It was going to be a long day, but he wasn't even phased by it, as at the end of this long journey, he would be with his family and that was all that mattered. They got in the car and drove off, finding the interstate and taking it north. The first few hours went by ok, but as it got later, chase could feel the fatigue of staring at endless road getting to him. "Alright, that's it, screw it. Tomb, you are gonna drive for a few hours ok? Right peddle makes go, left makes you stop. It's just highway for a long time so don't worry about any stop signs or anything. Just keep it within 5 miles per hour of the speed limit and you should be fine." He said as he pulled over and jumped out of the drivers seat, stretching.

message 381: by Mac (new)

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments Chase dosed for an hour or so and when he woke up, he saw that tomb was barely keeping it together. Mental note, don't make Tomb drive anymore. He told her to pull over and switched with her. She looked so very relieved when they switched as she climbed into the passenger seat and then shifted into a cat and napped. He felt bad for making her drive but he was feeling much better now and the rest of the day went by smoothly. They stopped for gas and food once and then coasted to their hotel. They were two hours from his house, but it was extremely late and they were both pretty tired. Chase got them a room and grabbed their stuff, leading Tomb up to their room. When they got there, he flopped on the bed, and she flopped on top of him. "Haha, hey! Watch it babe." He said, wrapping her up in a hug and then tickling her sides, smiling widely at the giggles that ensued.

message 382: by Mac (new)

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments When Tomb laid on top of him he laughed. She was being silly, and when she bit him and told him she was a vampire he laughed. "Baby, you are waaaaaaay prettier than any vampire, and I'd rather be bitten by you than a vampire." he said smiling as he joked with her. She nibbled on his ear a little and he laughed some more as it tickled a little. He kissed her cheek and her face and her neck, showering her with his kisses. She giggled at this, until one of his kisses landed on her lips. He lingered on her lips, tightening his hold on her, one hand wrapped around her waist, the other lightly on her cheek. He kissed her slowly, feeling the softness of her lips against his. As they kissed, flashes of memories of her flew through his mind. Her flying in the arena, sitting in a tree with her, their first kiss, and waking up with her at his bedside in the hospital.

message 383: by Mac (new)

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments They kissed for a little bit longer and then they just laid there, tomb on top of him, just enjoying the closeness of each other. It was true bliss. "Tomb, I know I've said this before, but I can't even tell you how much I love you baby. I just... well... imagine this. Of all the 7 billion people on this planet, somehow I ended up next to you. Of all the odds and probabilities, I met you. Now if it was luck or destiny or fate, I don't know. All i know is that I love you. And I don't know what my life would be like without you. Probably just some kid on an island smarting off to someone. I don't know, I just think that it was meant to be, some how. And as corny and cliché as that sounds, I believe it." He said, looking deep into the two lunar eclipses that were gazing back at him.

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments Chase cherished these moments, as these were some of his favorites. He had never felt this way about someone before and he liked it. After a little bit chase got up and took a shower, and after him tomb did the same.chase settled into bed and flipped through the tv shows and a certain channel caught his eye. It was a man vs wild survival tv show and it was about this guy who was dropped into remote environments and then having to make it out alive using survival skills. When Tomb finished her shower, she put on her PJ's and joined him, cuddling up with him again. How could his life get anymore perfect? He smiled down at her and gave her kisses. "Haha, you're my perfectly lovable, spear wielding, shape shifting little girl." He said laughing.

There is a guest bedroom next to mine and that can be yours, unless of course you are uncomfortable with it, in which case I guess I can find a hotel for you but I bet you my mom will insist you stay. Don't be nervous, my family is very open and they don't judge books by the cover. They raised me to do the same, and maybe that's why I saw past your black leather, hair, and eyes. Seeing instead a smoking hot girl who can kick but." He said laughing as she gave him a smirk but didn't protest. It was true, she was hot. The smile stayed on his face as they lay there, chase tracing hearts on tombs back and tomb messing with chases hair, occasionally laughing when she got his hair messy.

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments Chase fell asleep with Tomb laying on top of him and as everything got quiet and still, he could feel her heartbeat on his chest, mixing with his own. He smiled and then he fell asleep. He awoke the next morning to find tomb had gotten mostly ready. "Good morning love, how are-" he stopped as she turned towards him. He froze as he looked at Tomb who was looking back at him except with violet eyes. Her irises were a soft shade of purple rather than black and her hair was braided. He finally said, "uh, tomb? What the heck did you do? Don't get me wrong, you are still pretty and all but, uh, why?" He asked confused as to why she had changed her eyes and hair. She looked a little nervous and definitely looked like something was giving her some serious anxiety.

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments Chase sighed, "I just don't know why you're doing it. I know you're nervous and all, but pretending to be someone you aren't just makes things worse. Babe, I love you for you, and my family will too ok? It's going to be alright, and you aren't scary, I promise. Ok love? Oh baby, come here." He said, pulling her in for a hug. She had tears in her eyes and one rolled down her cheek. "Baby, you aren't scary, you are pretty and very likable. Hey, I fell in love with you so you obviously aren't that scary. I think you look wonderful just the way you are, I like your style. If you really do wanna change things up, then give it a shot, you look good in anything babe, but don't do it to hide from others." He said as he held her pulling back so he could wipe a tear from her face. "You truly are beautiful." He whispered in her ear.

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments "Baby, baby, my family has seen me change from flesh and bone to solid steel. They won't look twice at you having black eyes. And once they've heard how many times you've saved my ass, they will see a halo over your head and wings on your back. They aren't going to judge you just because of your looks, I promise. Hell after hearing how many times you've gotten me outta a sticky situation, they might make you a member of the family." He said with a chuckle, still holding her. He knew his family would be ok with her, because they had seen how the government guys looked at chase and they hated it. After seeing all those looks shot in his direction, his parents never looked at someone funny or crazy, because they knew first hand the damage those looks could do.

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments Chase knew she was feeling really self conscious, so he stepped in the mirror next to her and looked at the two of them. He carefully undid her braid, and then asked her to take her contacts out. After a little bit of arguing she complied, though not happily. He pulled her back in front of the mirror as her good old self, and they just looked at themselves, each other, and so on. Then chase said, "tomb, I know you look a little different, and I know that you hate it when people talk behind your back, but they don't matter ok? Look at yourself in the mirror. Look how pretty you are. You are incredibly beautiful, and just because you have black eyes doesn't mean you are a monster. Because you aren't baby. You are an amazing, pretty, incredible young girl." He said as they stood there.

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments Chase kissed her back, trying to convey how beautiful he thought she was through the kiss. "Yep, lets go grab breakfast, and then we'll hit the road ok baby?" He said, eager to get moving. They ate a quick breakfast and then loaded up the car with the few things they had with him. They were still good on money and so he stopped for gas quick, wanting a full tank for the trip. And soon enough, just like that, they were off. He clicked on a classic rock channel and held tombs hand as the scorpions played over the radio. He smiled, as he was so excited to see his parents and his sister. He'd missed his family so much, and he'd not talked to them since he'd been away. He hoped they were doing ok, not being too overwhelmed by his leaving.

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments When chase pulled into his drive way, he noted that both cars were here, so his family was home. He just sat there for a minute, looking at his house, somewhat amazed that he was seeing it again. He unbuckled and got out, then he took tombs hand and led her to the front door. He rang the doorbell and waited. When his mom answered the door, he said, "hi mom, I'm home." She screamed and threw her arms around him, then called into the living room, "Paul! It's chase!" And a moment later, his dad was there, patting his back. When they finally calmed down, he looked at Tomb and said, "uh, mom, dad, there's someone I want you to meet. This is Tomb, and, well, she's my girlfriend. She helped me get here." They both turned their attention to Tomb and studied her. Chases dad said, "nice to meet you miss, I'm Paul." Shaking her hand. His mom jumped in after saying, "oh honey, I'm sally, it's nice to meet you too. Now you have got to tell me how my boy tricked you into dating him." Chase groaned and they both stepped inside, chase smiling at how his parents weren't even the least bit thrown off by tombs appearance.

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments Chase's parents laughed at tombs joke. Chase smiled and they all went inside and sat in the living room. Chase sat with Tomb, holding her hand and supporting her as she gently leaned against him. Immediately his parents peppered him with questions about what happened and how he was doing and basically what had he been up to. He told them what happened during his times away. During the bad parts their faces grew grim, but whenever he talked of how Tomb saved his butt, they looked at her gratefully smiling at her. When he finished his story, his parents eyes were wide with amazement. Of course he got yelled at a little for almost dying, and it was a title embarrassing that Tomb saw it, but in the end, they were just grateful he'd made it out alive.

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments His mom was taken a little off guard by tombs response, but leaned forward and gave her a hug saying, "oh I'm sorry to hear about your parents my dear, and were happy that you are a part of it." Now it was tombs turn to be taken off guard as she was quite surprised by this show of affection. Chase smiled though, as Tomb relaxed and returned the embrace. It was nearing noon, so hi parents prepared them lunch which made chase happy, as it had been a long time since he'd done something so normal as have a parent make lunch for him. Tomb seemed to be enjoying herself and loosening up a bit after finally meeting his parents. He knew she had been nervous so it was nice to see her tension ease. His sister would be back a little later in the afternoon because she was at school currently. Oh man would she be happy to see him.

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments "Of course they like you! You're awesome Tomb, didn't I tell you?" He exclaimed, holding her and tracing hearts on the back of her neck as he often did. About thirty minutes later, the garage door opened and in came his sister. She stopped dead in her tracks when she saw him, and then she screamed, "Chase you're back! You're back! I can't believe it! And you brought someone too! Oh what's happened to you, what happened after you left?" Chase held up a finger and replied, "woah woah woah, one at a time ok? Yes I'm back, yes, this is Tomb, my girlfriend, a lot has happened." She wasn't quite satisfied with these answers so he ended up just telling his story all over again, except that he softened the story so it sounded like he wasn't in as much danger as he really was.

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments Chase hugged his sister, glad that he had made it home to be with his family. When Tomb said hi, his sister turned to her and looked up in what chase thought was awe. His sister, Samantha was nine, but sometimes she acted like a teenager, as she was pretty mature, but looking at Tomb, she looked like a child taking in a new person and trying to figure out who they were. Naturally she asked questions. "Oooohhhh you have pretty eyes, how do you get them like that? Can mine be like that?" Then blushing a little and looking at the floor she said, "we can play dolls and stuff together later if you want. You can be the princess bride!" She said, starting to elaborate on how they could play dolls. After a little bit, chase told her they would, but for now they were going to eat and rest. That seemed to satisfy his sister and so she skipped into the living room and clicked on the tv.

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments Chase smiled at her. "Cmon tomb, I'm 19, you can stay in the guest room next to mine." He said with a laugh. His parents wouldn't mind, especially after hearing everything Tomb has done for him. When she said how lucky he was, chase couldn't agree more. His family was awesome. They were completely trusting and accepting which really helped a lot. They were so awesome and chase didn't know what he would do without them. "Yeah, I am pretty lucky. They are all really awesome and i wouldn't have it any other way." He responded. They finished eating and chase suggested that he help her settle into her room. There wasn't much to do as she didn't have much with her, but they grabbed what she did have and put it in her room.

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments Chase sighed and decided she could use a little sleep. "Alright, just come upstairs when you wake up or want some company ok? There's a tv down here in the main room so you can watch that too if you'd like. Love ya baby." He said, returning a kiss and then trudged up the stairs. When he got up, he informed his parents that Tomb was sleeping and then plopped himself down in the living room. They watched tv for a little bit, and then his mom said, "I like that Tomb girl, she looks like she's got some attitude. And she's very pretty." Chase just smiled and said, "I thought you might say that mom. Anyways, how have you guys been doing?" They told him of what was going on, nothing too exciting and he was happy to hear that everyone is doing ok.
