Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments Chase smiled. He had a flashback to sitting in a tree, one of his first nights at camp, with tomb. They had been tracking the rivals, and were going to head back to camp to check on rain. They had payed truth or dare, and it was one of the first times he'd heard Tomb laugh and joke. He snapped out of his memory, realizing he had spaced out and said, "er, sorry. Anyway, games at sleepovers? Well, there's truth or dare, which is always better up in a tree. I think I saw battle ship in the cupboard. We could play never have I ever, which is where a person says something they've never done, and if the other person has done that thing, they clap. Sometimes people make it a drinking game, but everyone just ends up drunk. And there's also would you rather." He said, listing the few games he knew. Not bad considering he didn't go to many sleepovers.

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments Chase thought. All of them were kind of corny, and all of them were always kind of weird. "Actually, how about this. Why don't we tell each other riddles? We can keep track of points. One point if you get it, no points if you don't get it. It seems a little more fun that just doing a game that requires no real thought. Also, he kind of liked the idea, because he had watched the hobbit, and really liked the scene when bilbo bagging played the riddle game for his life with that creepy humanoid thing that referred to a ring as preciousssssss. "Except we aren't playing for our lives and I will not ask you what is in my pocket." He said, giving a laugh at his hobbit reference. He didn't know if Tomb had gotten the reference or not, but she just shook her head.

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments Chase thought for a moment and then a smile slowly took over his face. "Ok, what does a poor man have, and a rich man want, can't be lost, and can't be taken?" He asked. He loved this riddle because when he was younger, his dad had always told him things that made him think. Wether it be complex math equations, riddles, observations, or other brain games. For some reason, this one stuck with him. Maybe it was because of the answer, and maybe it was just one that was easy to remember. He didn't know. He watched as Tomb thought about it, scrunching her eyebrows and tapping her fingers. It was really cute and just made him smile even more. Maybe he'd get lucky on this one and she wouldn't get a point. He doubted it though, for she was very clever.

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments ((Didn't know if the answer was right.😂))

Chase thought a moment. He'd never heard this one, and it was kinda tricky. She didn't mention a ceiling so maybe you could get out that way? No, that was too much work. Chase pondered it some more, then he actually did it, imagining he was in a windowless, doorless room. Hmmmm. At that moment a small smile played across his face. He was 90% sure he'd gotten it. "Stop imagining?" He asked. When Tomb gave her response, he started thinking of one to tell her. "Oh, ummm, ok. What howls and whispers with no voice, rips and tears with no claws, pushes and pulls with no body?" He asked, giving a mischievous look at tomb. This one was definitely one of the harder riddles he'd ever heard, and it had taken him forever to get it when his friend had told it to him in middle school.

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments ((Omg I love this one! It's a mushroom right?))

message 258: by Mac (new)

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments ((Haha, sweet!))

Chase thought about it. As far as he was concerned, there were no such rooms that existed. He thought for a minute and said, "alright, alright, you've got me on this one, what is it?" When tomb revealed that it was a mushroom, chase almost whacked himself upside the head. Of course that was it! He'd taken the question too literally. Tomb laughed at him as he chuckled at his unfortunate mindset to take the riddle literally. "Ok, ok, that was good. But I've got one that will surely catch you. Ok, so there are 3 men on a boat in the middle of a lake. The only thing inside the boat is an oar and four cigarettes. Those items being the only things in the boat, how are they going to smoke? I'll give you a hint, don't think literally like me." He said to her, smiling at his riddle.

message 259: by Mac (new)

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments ((Haha, took me forever to get this one when I heard it!))

Chase smiled. He had actually had to ask his dad about it when his grandpa had told it to him. Fortunately, his dad had heard it from grandpa when he was a kid, and he helped chase work it out. It was a kind of funny explanation, and there is no real way for them to smoke, and that's what made it tricky. "Ok, so, there are four cigarettes and three men. If they throw one cigarette off the boat, they make it one cigarette lighter. Haha, it's a cigarette lighter! Oh don't give me that look, same type of riddle as your mushroom one!" He pointed out as Tomb gave him a sour look for the unconventional answer of his riddle. "Haha, I got you fair and square, no complaints!" He chimed in, leaning forward and placing a kiss on her nose. "Your turn!" He said, getting ready for his next riddle.

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments Chase laughed, "eye. And yes we can make cake. I have a box of cake mix in the cupboard. Wanna make one? I can snatch some frosting from mars, and we can make the cake say, 'when life gives you lemons, eat them'." He said, laughing as he watched tomb sucking on her lemons. He internally cringed. How the heck does she do it? Just a medical miracle I guess. Chase held her in his lap, running his fingers through her black hair, twirling it around his fingers and being genuinely intrigued by the long locks. "What's it like to have long hair? Does it get in your face all the time and get hot and tangly when the weather hearts up? If s it silky soft and all illowy in the wind? Seems funny, having long hair." He said goofily, still playing with her hair.

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments "Ah, envelope, very clever. And how about we don't whack me with a spear and instead give me hugs and kissed and cuddles." He said, poking tombs stomach so she giggled. He smiled, watching her loosening up. He picked her up, laughing as she protested, and carried her into the kitchen so she could keep chase company while he made the cake batter. He pulled out the box of vanilla cake, and opened it up. He got out all of the bowls and ingredients necessary for making it, and set to work. When he finished, his hands had lots of flour on them. He grinned at her innocently and walked over to tomb, placed his hands on her cheeks, and kissed her on the lips. She tried to whack him, but he hopped out of range quickly after kissing her. "Haha, you got a little something on your cheeks there love." He said cheerily, blowing her a kiss.

message 262: by Mac (new)

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments He laughed at her comments. When she sat on the counter, he walked over leaned forward to kiss her again. "Hmmmm, what are we to do? There's more movies, tv shows, or we could dance." A smile coming onto his face as he thinks of tomb dancing. "Please babe? Just one slow dance? We can throw on dream weaver, and it will be fun!" He pleaded with her, hoping that he might get one slow dance out of her. She looked down but he lifted her chin so their eyes met. "Please?" He asked, peering into her eyes. Chase remembered his father telling him that the eyes were the window to ones soul. If that was the case, what he saw when he looked into her eyes was a girl who was brave and courageous, but also scared and unsure. Maybe he could help that one day.

message 263: by Mac (new)

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments ((Haha, I imagine them as like black pools or lunar eclipses.))

Chase picked her up and twirled her around, ecstatic to be able to have a chance to dance with her. "It's easy, just step back and forth! You'll get it." He said happily. He moved the coffee table in the center of the living room off to the side for space, and grabbed the boom box. He selected a cd that said, slow rock anthems, and skipped to the track dream weaver. He smiled as it started playing. Tomb put her hands around his neck while he put his on her waist. She raised an eyebrow when he did this and he smiled and winked. They stepped left and right, swaying to the music, looking at each other, smiling. As the chorus came on, singing, "oh dreeeeeaaaaammmmm weaver, I believe we can make it's through the niiiiiiiiight," he sang along in his head, admiring the girl in front of him, thinking of how lucky he got. He leaned a tiny bit forward, and kissed her, slow and gentle, his mind thinking of nothing but her.

message 264: by Mac (new)

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments Chase kissed her back sweetly as dream weaver played in the background. He pulled her closer than she already was, letting his love for her, his emotions towards her, his feelings that words would never do justice in explaining, pour into the kiss. He felt vulnerable and strong at the same time, an interesting sensation that made his whole body tingle. When they finally pulled away, though only a few inches, chase whispered to her, "I love you Tomb, with all my heart." As nothing louder than a whisper was required. It felt good when he said those words, and they left a sweet, warm sensation as they flowed out of his mouth. The words just felt perfectly natural, like he'd been born to say them. He kept holding her, as they swayed slowly to the rest of the song.

message 265: by Mac (new)

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments As those words washed over chase, an indescribable sense of happiness came with them. "I want to tell you another story. And it's a Greek myth. Once upon a time, when humans were first created, they had four eyes, four arms, four legs, two noses, and so on, each body part, had an extra pair. Zeus thought that the humans were too strong, so he divided them into two different people. This satisfied Zeus, and so we are what we are today. But, because we are split, naturally we miss the other half. Thus our lives are spent in the ever lasting search for the one who completes us. I believe my search has come to an end much earlier than I expected, and I am definitely ok with that." He said, remembering it vaguely from a really good book series he read a while back.

message 266: by Mac (new)

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments ((I try:) ))

Chase smiled, taking her in his arms. "Cmon love, cakes almost done, and I know you've really been wanting cake! And hey, I have some more good news that you'll like to hear. Considering how well you've eaten today, and how much better you're looking, I think it will be a good idea for you to do a test run on your powers tomorrow. Shift, fly, move, just get back into the swing of things. I know you've been itching to try that out and I think you are ready." He aid watching as she smiled even more, getting excited to be able to stretch herself a little bit. He watched her, noting how beautiful she looked, with her smile and slightly messy hair. Never in his whole life could he have ever hoped to find someone better than tomb. It was impossible to.

message 267: by Mac (new)

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments He smiled as she hopped around like a kid, and barely contained his laughter when she noticed and tried to act more tough, poking him in the chest and telling him she didn't need approval, like she hadn't just hopped around like a child. He was quite amused. "Ok then," he said with a slight laugh, "and yes, I do believe the cake is ready." He said, turning on the oven light to inspect the cake. It looked really good and had risen nicely. He took it out of the oven and set it on the stove top. Chase grabbed the frosting, and started spreading it across the top, being sure to make it nice and even. When it was all said and done, the cake actually looked pretty nice. "Ok, let's let it cool for two minutes, and then we can cut some slices for ourselves." He told Tomb.

message 268: by Mac (new)

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments Chase laughs at this. "Oh you must be acting silly if you think you can order me to do anything." He said teasing her. The cake was really good, and chase was quite happy with his end product.it also seemed that Tomb liked it too, going back for seconds once she'd finished her first slice. After they were done eating, and chase collected all of the plates, it was around 10:00 at night. "Cmon tomb, it's getting late, and you need some sleep for tomorrow. It's my last day off so I'll be able to watch you fly and stuff, making sure you don't crash. Anyway, up you go." He said, smiling as he lifted her out of the chair and into his arms. She didn't protest this time, so chase carried her to her bed, laying her down, and tucking her in. He didn't want to leave her because the night had been so awesome that it felt almost wrong to go so soon so he stay there, kneeling next to her, giving her hugs and kisses, and admiring the girl that lay in front of him.

message 269: by Mac (new)

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments Chase smiled when she offered him a spot in bed, and crawled in next to her. When she cuddles back up to him, and told him not to try anything, he had to give a laugh. He smiled as he lay there, tombs breathing becoming even and steady. As he listened to her breathing become rhythmic, he himself felt his eye lids grow heavy. He slowly nodded off, sleep claiming him slowly, tomb cuddled up to him, thinking of how perfect things were. Now they just needed to save sailor. It wouldn't be easy, but he felt they could do it. When he woke up, tomb was still cuddled up with him, breathing softly. He smiled. It must've been a little later in the day, as the sun had risen a good amount above the horizon. He slowly adjusted himself so he could wake Tomb. He leaned over, kissing her, causing her eyes to flutter open. "Morning beautiful." He said with a smile.

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments "My my, aren't you hyper today? You even finished your entire breakfast? Alright, I guess you should test a little bit of flight." He said with a smirk as she hopped up and down, clapping. He laughed internally thinking of the stone cold tomb he'd met when he first got here, and now that he got to know her, there was so much more.when they made it away from the house a little bit, tomb shifted to a cat, just testing her powers. Then she changed back to tomb, except this time, she grew a pair of wings and launched into the air, yelling excitedly. "Be careful!" He called after her as she dove and then barrel rolled, and then flew into a loop the loop. Chase just watched on in amusement, grinning at her as she flipped and dipped and twirled and whirled.

message 271: by Mac (new)

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments For a second, chase was sure she had fallen unconscious and was falling to her death, but as she got closer, she pulled out of the dive, and landed next to him a little out of breath. "A little excited are we? That was pretty impressive, I'm glad you're making a solid recovery." He said, chuckling as she caught her breath. "Ok, try shifting into a few different animals. It will be a good idea for you to knock any rust off of your skills. Try some animals you don't really do a lot? I don't really know how you would re familiar yourself with your powers, if that's even a word...." he said, puzzling over the grammatical wreck the sentence he'd just said. She nodded and changed into a few different animals. A cheetah, an elk, a pine Martin, and then a boa constrictor. "Looking good." He said when she changed back.

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments Haze sighed and ran after her to go find Alana in the mess hall. When they got there, mars was in the kitchen, and yep, you guessed it, chase ordered some fish and chips cape cod style. Tomb rolled her eyes when he did, but chase just smiled and accepted the basket of food that mars had started as soon as chase walked through the door. Alana was sitting with Tomb and rain, playing some kind of patty cake game. "Alana, could we have a word with you real quick?" He asked, setting down his food at a spot nearby with Tomb. Alana gave them an annoyed look, but left her game to come talk with them. "So, tomb had the idea of throwing the little ones a birthday party, and having a small celebration to maybe improve the mood around here." He said.

message 273: by Mac (new)

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments Alana seemed to want to be involved in some level, so chase decided she could do the personal things. "Ok, you do the food, activities and such, me and Tomb will pick the place, get out the invitations and do the decorations ok? Be sure to include a ton of candy for rain!" He said to Alana, who seemed more than happy to be a part of helping throw this together. "Here, tomb, I'm pretty sure I saw some party supplies in a closet back home, and I know there was some random stuff shoved in the armory. There could be some things down there." He said, starting to get a little excited at the prospect of making a party for rain and Dice, and improving the gloomy mood that had been plaguing the camp since the last attack from the rivals.

message 274: by Mac (new)

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments Chase watched rain zip away, flying at top speed to keep watch at Mari's house. "Cmon, lets go find some stuff, you go to the armory, and I'll grab the stuff in the closet, I'll meet you in the camp square after ok? Last one there is a rotten egg." He said, giving Tomb a quick kiss and running off, back to the house. When he got there, he went to the closet where he'd found the boom box and shoved aside some boxes and old clothes, and grabbed a box of stuff. In it was streamers and some bright, bedazzled decorations, and some other miscellaneous things. He was about to leave when he saw a smaller box, a shoe box, that had been stuffed in the corner of the closet. It was labeled, campers old photos. He looked in it and found a ton of photos of campers doing things and other stuff. One caught his eye. It was of Tomb and sailor, arms around each other, smiling happily at the camera. He put it in his pocket and decided he'd show Tomb later. He grabbed his stuff and hurried off to the camp square.

message 275: by Mac (new)

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments Chase made it back last, and when he got to the mess hall, he saw tomb in wolf form, standing next to her box of things. Shoot, she'd beaten him. "You could've given me a head start!" He complained as he walked up behind her, lugging along his box. He set it down next to her and watched as she shaped back into herself. "If you plan on shifting at home, could you choose animals that don't she'd?" He joked, making her roll her eyes. "Haha, anyway, I was thinking we could decorate the mess hall with streamers and some decorations from Argante. We could have a piñata too! Oh, and what if we got a humming bird feeder and filled it with sugar water so rain could drink it! That would be funny, and I'll bet she'd enjoy it too. Wait, can you shift into a humming bird?" He asked.

message 276: by Mac (new)

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments Chase looked at the hall and knew they had their work cut out for them. "Ok, we have to clean up a bit, rearrange the tables into more organized rows, we have to hang decorations, make space for people to socialize, I'm pretty sure there's a karaoke machine in the box you grabbed from the armory so we can hook that up, and do that. Also, it would be cool to have other music, maybe mars has more speakers. I'll get busy cleaning up the area while you arrange the tables ok? Got team on three!" He called jokingly. Chase immediately got to work, nicking up garbage and cleaning the floors, trying to make everything look nice for Dice and rains special day.

message 277: by Mac (new)

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments Chase worked with mars to wire up the speakers, running all of the cords to a central station with an auxiliary. It took forever, but when they finally got it and tested it, American pie came through clearly over the speakers. He smiled, looking over at Tomb. The place looked amazing and he was so happy that it was turning out. Alana came over and informed him the food and cake was ready and being put out buffet style. They were pretty much ready for the big reveal to Dice and Rain. He walked over to tomb, grinning at her when she saw him. "I think its time we got the two little ones. I saw Dice in the red room and I think rain is still on her mission. Oh they are going to be so excited! I found something really cool in a closet a while back to give them for gifts." He said, taking her hand.

message 278: by Mac (new)

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments As chase and the rest of camp waited for the two young ones, he grew excited. Dice had been pretty sad lately and this would hopefully make them feel better. When they heard Tomb working the knob of the door, they all fell into a hush, awaiting the reveal. When the two little ones stepped in, they all yelled, "surprise! Happy birthday!" Rain squealed with delight and started zipping around the room in humming bird form, and then running around squealing some more, giving hugs to all the campers. When rain hit him from the side with the hug, he lifted her high and then set her back down saying, "happy birthday!" Dice was a little more thrown off as his eyes shone as he looked at the beautiful decorations adorning the hall. A smile grew on his face and he too started hugging campers at random. Even chase got a hug from Dice. He looked at Tomb who was smiling widely at the two little ones as they ran around excitedly.

message 279: by Mac (new)

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments "I think he's turning seven, there's never much certainty of course, but I'm pretty sure. Haha, you did a great job Tomb, this will really make them happy." He said, sliding his arm around her, and placing a kiss on her cheek. "Here come with me to the karaoke machine. No I'm not gonna make you sing, but I'm gonna make a fool of myself, so come watch." He said giving her a smile. No one had touched it wet, so it was still on the song select menu. He scrolled through the list and stopped at Hotel California. He loved this song and he was actually really good at singing it. It was the perfect key for him. He gave Tomb a wink and clicked play. The intro played, and soon he was singing, "on a dark desert highway, cool wind in my hair. Warm smell of colitas, rising up through the air." And he went through the song, having a great time singing as the words glided by on the screen.

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments ((Actually, it's because he knocked on the door. You don't knock on a door if you think it's your own room. Good one huh? Yours makes sense though too!))

message 281: by Mac (new)

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments ((And yeah! I love that song as well.))

He finished the song, and handed off the mic to mars, who was going to do rocket man, which he thought ironic because of the kid's name. He walked back over to tomb, who was sitting on a table next to Alana, munching on fries. Everyone was having a pretty good time, and for a moment, it was like any other high school party he'd been to. People socializing, flirting, having fun, meeting people they didn't know too well. He smiled at this as he sat down onto the table next to tomb. "This is pretty alright if you ask me." He commented, taking a drink of a root beer he'd snagged out of a cooler on the way over here. Observing the scene, he felt a sense of family amongst those gathered here, celebrating. He was shoulder to shoulder with Tomb, and she leaned into him as he put his arm around her, feeling like maybe everything wasn't as desperate as it seemed. Because at the moment, everything felt manageable.

message 282: by Mac (new)

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments Chase was caught a little off guard by the guy and actually thought Tomb was joking when she said for him to back off, as if this guy was trying to steal him from her. When he realized she wasn't quite joking he said, "er, I happen to be taken, thanks tough, I think?" Chase wasn't gay so it had been a little weird, but he really had no problem with the concept, I mean, love is love, and who are we to decide or define love for other people. He smiled at Tomb saying, "oh don't worry love, I ah, I tend to stick to the females, and only the females that can wield a spear, shape shift, have black eyes, and a name starting with t and ending in b." He said, getting a smile out of her. It was nice to meet all of these new people. He kept forgetting that he hadn't really been here that long and didn't quite know everyone yet. There were tons of people here he'd never met, though he'd taught a lot of them in class.

message 283: by Mac (new)

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments Chase laughed at the joke she'd made and smiled when she kissed him. Just then rain ran up, hyper as ever, wanting to do more things. "Well, we have a piñata, would you like to try that?" He asked, patting her head. After a lot of assuring that there was candy in it, she agreed. Chase gave a nod to mars and he hoisted two piñatas up, one for rain, one for Dice, who was loving every second of the party and was causing a little statue he kept with him to tap dance. Rain beat at her piñata fruitlessly, until finally, with the help of mars, she knocked off its head, immediately going for the candy that came out. Dice was a little more swift and clean, taking a few swings before bringing down his broom shaft on the back of the piñata, breaking it open. During this, chase did not dare move from his spot, as he was comfortable with Tomb on his lap, watching the party.

message 284: by Mac (new)

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments Chase felt relaxed, at home, comfortable. The rivals were too scrambled to launch an attack, everyone was having a good time, and he was with Tomb. There was no better feeling in the world. He knew Tomb was a little anxious about everything going so well because she kept glancing over her shoulder, and let's be honest, how often did things ever go right with them? But just for tonight, everything was ok. Of course he knew that as soon as Tomb was 100%, they would be going after sailor. That was a few days from now though, and chase decided to live in the now for tonight. He held tomb as people sang at the karaoke machine, ate mars feast, and talked with their friends. "You know, I never ever thought I'd love this place as much as I do." He commented.

message 285: by Mac (new)

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments Chase frowned at Tomb, who was still coughing from eating the nutmeg. It was getting late, as campers were starting to leave, and it definitely was not a good idea to have a hallucinogenic tomb out in front of all these people. "Ok, cmon tomb, time to head home. I can't believe you just ate a giant thing of nutmeg, even when he tried to warn you not to. Ugh, so stubborn. Cmon love, let's get out of here before you start seeing things." He said, helping her onto her feet. They went by rain and Dice and said happy birthday, to which they received bright smiles and hugs. Chase smiled, and so did tomb, then they walked towards their house. He put his arm around her as they walked, pulling her closet to him, and placing a kiss on her forehead.

message 286: by Mac (new)

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments Tomb was acting pretty goofy, and laughing at everything, which in turn made chase laugh. "Cmon ya joker, lets go." He said, opening the door to their house and pulling her inside. She was giggling about something and it was hard to tell what, but he swept her off her feet and carried her into the living room, laying her on the couch where she giggled some more. "I swear Tomb, you will never ever hear the end of this one." He said laughing at the thought of how embarrassed she would be tomorrow. He sat down next to tomb, who was examining the couch cushions intently and occasionally giving bits of laughter. Chase pulled her into his lap and held onto her as she giggled some more saying something about his face.

message 287: by Mac (new)

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments "Oh my poor tomb. Look where you're stubbornness has gotten you." Chase said, tickling her sides a little, causing her to laugh rather hard. He just smiled as she recovered from the laugh attack. She went back to tracing all of the scars on his chest, moving her fingers from one to the next. It tickled a little and it was sort of comforting in a way. Tomb was moving her finger onto a particularly long and thick scar and looked up at him with a look that said, look what you did to yourself. Chase grinned and said, "hey, it was worth it because I got you to sing to me. And I got to rest for a bunch of days with you at my side." He winked at her, then pulled her in for a kiss, moving his hands to her sides and then wrapping them around her, pulling her closer.

message 288: by Mac (new)

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments Chase smiled at Tomb, still holding her, facing him. She was smiling too, and her eyes were as wide as dinner plates, staring at him. He was sure his were as well. "Haha, I love you too baby." He said, as he rolled her onto her back on the couch so he was on top of her now. He winked and kissed her, then he tickled her some more. She just laughed and laughed, not being able to escape as he'd trapped her against the couch. When he stopped, she pushed him over, laughing with glee, and ended up laying on top of him. They stayed like that for a while, smiling at each other. He drew hearts on her back, and she sighed contentedly. This was what life was supposed to be like, and he was glad they could still live a little in a place like this.

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments Tomb drifted off on top of him, and he was getting pretty tired too. He lifted her up, and carried her into his room, tucking her in. He then turned off the tv, tidied up, and turned off the lights. She had protested weakly when he left, but when he climbed back into bed, situating her in his arms, he heard her purr a little bit. He smiled and placed a kiss on the top of her head. He drifted off to sleep, holding Tomb close, and listening to her short, soft breaths. He slept well and when he awoke, he felt energized and happy. He dared not move though as Tomb was still asleep and he did not want to wake her. So he just lay there in bed, looking at her lovingly, wondering how it was possible to feel so lucky. When she started to stir, he kissed her, saying, "good morning beautiful."

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments Chase was surprised, but he also laughed as he hadn't necessarily meant rain, but she was already asleep again, curled up against him. It was just gonna be a lazy morning. Chase looked at Tomb who smiled at the girl who had wedged herself next to chase. "Good morning beautiful to you too then." He said laughing. How could he not smile at rain. Apparently some time in the night or early this morning, she'd come in and cuddled up with them. It was somewhat odd but also endearing. They stayed like that for a bit until rain woke again, and from her spot looked up at the two and asked, "you more candy?" Chase replied with a chuckle, saying, "I hear tomb hid some under her pillow." It was a complete lie, but it was funny as she was crawling over tomb, trying to get to her pillow.

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments Chase wondered about it, but he had not felt the child climb into bed at any time in the night. "No, i didn't. She darn near gave me a heart attack. Did you?" Tomb shook her head. She looked like someone had drugged her, which was somewhat true, except that she'd drugged herself. He motioned for her to come back and lay down. He heard Tomb rattling around in the kitchen, looking for candy no doubt. When Tomb settled back in his arms, he said, "I've got patrol later on, but nothing else. You should hydrate to help get rid of that hangover, and if you're feeling it, maybe get some practice in and work on some skills. It would be good for your recovery and I'll bet you it will feel nice to get back in it a little bit." He said to her, brushing some hair out of her face.

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments Chase looked at her and got up himself. "I've got patrol at 12:00 till 2:00 and it's... what time is it? Oh, its 10:00 right now." He answered, grabbing a shirt and heading into the kitchen. Rain was sitting on the floor, a sad look on her face. "You no candy! Where'candy? Give candy!" She said, obviously distraught over the lack of edible sweet things in the house. "Aw rain. I'm pretty sure there is some left over from last night in the mess hall. Maybe if you ask mars politely he will give you some. Use your please and thank you!" He said. She thought, repeated, "peas and tank you" then flew off in hummingbird form to go find mars. Well, that went well. Tomb just smiled and started brewing some coffee, presumably to help her get over her hang over.

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments Chase was not eager to guard the border with Neus, as he figured it would consist of neus hitting on him, and awkward silence. He was glad Tomb felt up to training, but he hoped Alana would take it easy at first to warm up Tomb. Alana was a damn good fighter, and though she hadnt yet beaten him, chase knew it was only a matter of time. "Sounds good, try not to hurt yourself, and remember to ease into it!" He called as she strode out the door, looking strong and healthy again like she was that day on the beach. He smiled at the thought and ate the breakfast she'd handed to him. He ate, then got dressed in some more rugged clothing for a border patrol. It wasn't going to be fun, but it needed to be done, and at least he could get to know neus a bit more, though he wasn't sure that was a good thing.

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments When chase met neus for border patrol, the first words out of his mouth were an attempt at a pickup line. Chase shut it down and said, "I'd be careful. Tombs already pissed at you for the nutmeg, and I wouldn't do or say anything else to upset her." Neus seemed to consider this and decide it was best to stay on tombs good side. Chase was ready for patrol, dagger in sheath, small steel disc underfoot in his sock, rubber ball in pocket. They set off, walking the border, keeping extra vigilant, being careful to not make much noise. He talked to Neus, and found out more about him. His power was interesting. He could manipulate light in ways that allowed him to turn himself, or other objects invisible. It was pretty interesting to chase.

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments When Tomb and Alana came, Neus smiled. Alana put her elbow on chases shoulder which he gave a questioning look, and then looked at Tomb. She had a few cuts and such, but nothing too terrible. "Nope, not-" he was cut off by a crashing in the bushes to his left. Immediately everyone disappeared, and chase was extremely confused for a second, but then he looked down and couldn't see himself. Neus had turned them invisible, and as soon as he realized this, he turned his eyes back to the crashing noise. It sounded like someone or something was moving pretty quickly towards them. Chase drew his knife, and he was pretty sure he heard Alana's knives slide out of her sheaths as well. Whatever was coming, it would have a nasty surprise.

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments What came next was quite a sight. A practice dummy came tearing out of the brush with Dice on his back, laughing his head off while rain flew around them making high pitched shrieking sounds which he interpreted as squeals of delight. They all materialized, and when Dice saw them, he told his animation to stop. He got down from his stuffed friend and said with a giggle, "hi guys! Look what me and rain are doing. My powers are getting better thanks to the training, and now I made a play mate. I named him Quin! Like mannequin! Haha! Uh... why do you guys all have weapons?" Chase realized they were all in attack mode and he sheathed his knife as the others disarmed themselves as well. "Well, uh, you kinda scared us. We're on border patrol. What are you doing so far from camp?" He asked.

message 300: by Mac (new)

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments Chase nodded in agreement. They couldn't have young campers running around so close to the boarder. There were still threats out there that could potentially kill anyone who went too far away from the camper. He shot a worried look at Tomb and then they continued on. The four of them patrolled the rest of the boarder, still wary of the surrounding forest. When they were done, they all walked to the mess hall for lunch. Of course chase got his usual meal while the others ordered theirs. Tomb sat next to him, and when she did, he absentmindedly put his arm around her, giving a quick squeeze, and then said, "so tomorrow we can make a plan and gather supplies for our, ah, excursion." Not wanting to notify the others of their trip.
