Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments Chase walked back into his room and went to bed. He was tired as hell and fell asleep quickly. When he woke up, it must've been 10:00 or so because the sun was pretty high in the sky. He got up and went to take a shower, reflecting on yesterday. He felt good and not crazy at all. But that's what a crazy person would say. He walked out of the bathroom, put some clothes on and walked into the kitchen where tomb was already sitting. "Have you got to do anything today?" He asked, contemplating how he was going to spend his day. He though about going hunting, maybe going on a run through the woods, or maybe just going on a walk. It was going to be nice out today and he wanted to take advantage of it. Being outside always helped calm his mind. It was a great place for him to think.

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments "No, I think I'm gonna go on a run, and eating before a run gives you food cramps. And you can go do what you need to do, I'll be ok on my own." He replied as he headed to the door. He stepped out and jogged to the edge of the forest, doing various stretches and such, gearing up for his run. He had no particular route or distance in mind, but he just figured he'd run. He started off easier and then worked into a quicker pace with a faster cadence, and was really moving through the woods. He probably ran for 45 min before he turned around and headed back. He ran hard, and when he reached the camp, he was breathing hard and drenched in sweat. He felt great. Nothing like a hard run to clear your mind. He walked through the clearing, and spotted Alana. "Alana! C'mere!" She came over to him and he greeted her, than continued on to say, "Alana, I'm going to be taking some time off. I want you to teach the knife combat class. You're the best we have, better than me. The only reason you have trouble with me is because of my ability. Keep doing what you're doing ok?" He said to her, wanting to make sure someone was keeping up his classes.

message 203: by Mac (new)

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments Chase was confused by tombs behavior. She'd missed classes? That's weird, he'd ask her about it later, but it was probably just because of what happened yesterday and she had a lot on her mind. Chase went back to his house, hungry and sweaty. He showered quickly and went into the kitchen, looking for something good to eat. He settled on oats and berries cereal, pouring himself a big bowl of the cereal and saturating it with milk. He loved this stuff. He ate and flipped on the tv, turning super natural on. It was a rerun, and he finished his cereal and watched a few reruns before walking outside looking for something to do.

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments Chase froze at the door. What had she called him? Cemheard a ca- but that was the beginning of his name, just without the h. She had probably just misspoken. She seemed busy though and instead of asking her why she missed her classes, he decided he'd wait till later. "Nah, I'm gonna go try and find something to do. Maybe take a walk, maybe go and explore some. Might go have some fun at the archery range. What are you going to do? Do you have stuff you need to get to?" He asked, wondering if she knew what she had to do. He was definitely going to have to ask her about those classes. He didn't know why it bothered him so much, but it was just uncharacteristic of tomb to miss a class. Especially when she guarded this place with her life.

message 206: by Mac (new)

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments Chase watched the interaction between Alana and tomb, and found it awkward and off. He didn't know why, but it wasn't like it usually was. When Tomb asked what Dice's power was, he was momentarily confused because it seemed impossible to forget the little kids power, especially after the demonstration theyd had a few days ago. "Well, he can animate things that are vaguely humanoid, like practice dummies or statues, and control them. If he learned, he could raise his own little army. Quite unfortunate because the rivals would do anything to get him. And I was thinking. Why do the rivals fight us? What's the reason. We did not provoke them, we did not harm them, but they attack us anyway. We just wish to live and train here. If they beat us, what do they gain? Control of the island? Big deal. It seems like so many lives are lost in such a futile effort. Every time I kill one of them, I can't help but think of whose little boy or girl I just condemned to death. How could so much bloodshed and death justify any end goal? I mean, what is the goal? It all seems useless. I don't understand why we can't just live peacefully, and if they hate us so much, separately. What end are we headed to Tomb? Because I sure as hell don't see any justifiable one." He replied. It had been nagging at him for a while, and he only spoke it now, because if they trained Dice, he would be deadly. And would they really do something so condemning as sending an unbeatable army after the rivals?

message 207: by Mac (new)

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments Chase listened to tomb, and immediately knew something was up. Why would she say something like that? Maybe we should let it happen anyways? What? Doubt started to creep into his mind again. He needed to confirm if she was really Tomb once and for all. "Hey, I have to go talk to Alana about some class stuff." He said, sprinting after Alana, leaving tomb sitting there with a puzzled look. When he caught up with Alana, he spoke softly and quickly to her, pulling her away from the young ones. "Alana, this is urgent. Tomb is acting really weird, to the point where I'm not sure if it's tomb or sailor. I need that brilliant analytical mind of yours to tell me if it's Tomb or sailor. Please, but don't tell anyone? If it's sailor, we want the element of surprise. Be wary." He said, glancing around nervously.

message 208: by Mac (new)

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments Chase sat stunned, and Alana's lack of fear worried him. Literally, she could have maybe dropped by, said hey how's it going, yeah I almost forgot, tomb is actually sailor, the evil twin with psychotic tendencies and a maniac for a boyfriend, have a nice day! Speaking of which, chase wanted to cremate himself he felt so disgusted with himself at cuddling with the evil psycho. And that meant Tomb was in big trouble. He about had a nervous breakdown right then and there. Tomb was with the rivals? Oh god. This was not good. But he had a plan. It would have to wait for later though. He went back to sailor to keep an eye on her. There was no way he was leaving her unattended in this camp. Not one chance in hell. When he caught up to her, she was walking off into the woods. "Where are you going?" He asked, sounding curious and nothing else.

message 209: by Mac (new)

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments ((No worries. Just curious, shouldn't you focus on your test?))

Chase almost recoiled when she took his hand, but kept it together formtombs sake. It felt weird to be holding the hand of a psychotic evil twin. Oh, but as long as he had her here, and as long as she would play along, he was going to wage psychological warfare on this girl. "You know tomb, I keep thinking about your sister, and how you almost killed her. I know you felt bad about having to injure her, and I know she probably died due to her injuries, but I hope she didn't suffer. Whatever happened, I hope she didn't. No one deserves to suffer. Remember that group of kids you told me about Tomb, the ones that sailor killed with her black fog. You told me they killed themselves and you specifically told me of a little boy who slit his wrists and after sailors fog had gone, he looked at himself and cried, all the way up to his death. I can't even imagine his suffering. No one, and I mean no one, deserves to die like that boy." He wanted sailor to know how she had ruined lives, how she had been responsible for the terrible suffering of many. "And all for what? Did that kid dying have any affect on the outcome? No. Did his death resolve anything? Nope. It was just another meaningless death that could have been avoided." He finished, watching sailor for a reaction.

message 210: by Mac (new)

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments Chase had followed at a safe distance, but stopped and watched as sailor paused, crying in a clearing. He may have had gone a little too far and aggravated her too much. She looked like she was going to go on a rampage. This was not good, he saw wisps of black smoke radiating from her. He thought and decided he needed to do something. So he stepped out from behind his cover and approached sailor. Except he did it noisily, and threw his knife sticking it into a tree a foot away from sailor. She spun on him, anger evident in her eyes. He held up his hands and said, "hold on sailor, let me just say one thing before you kill me. Or I kill me. Whatever. Just listen." She lowered her hands and glared at him through watery eyes. He took this as his allowance to speak. "Sailor, I'm sorry about what I said back there, but it's true. No one deserves to suffer like that. I know you've done a lot of bad in your life time. And obviously it doesn't sit right with you. I'll bet the faces flash through your mind every night, like a slide show, making you angrier, making you want to kill more people. I dunno, maybe I'm wrong, but I'm basically betting my life right now that I'm right. You have caused so much pain and sorrow sailor. Do you not think of the families of all the kids you have killed. Do you not think about how their death doesn't just harm them? Do you ever consider that every life you snuff out, every flame you douse, that you are stopping a whole life full of happiness and potential? Do these thoughts ever come to your mind? I bet they do, even though you hate to admit it. And even now, are you really going to charge into camp, and kill off more children? Rain is 3 god damnit. 3 friggin years old, and after the battle between you and your sister, I had to explain to rain that Tomb may never wake up. A 3 year old. And you know what's even worse? When Tomb finally came back from the dead, one of her first concerns was if you were ok. Do you see how much you hurt her? It may have been kinder for you to kill her than to leave her drowning in the guilt of hurting you. After everything you have done to her, she still loves you. And you just keep betraying her. Killing more and more people. I can't stop you right now sailor. I can't do a damn thing except hope that you will only take my life instead of some innocent kid's back at camp. It's just one more face to that slideshow sailor. Tomb wants to help you. But if you do this, you're beyond help." He said, ending his speech, wondering if those were the last words he'd ever say, as he stood there unarmed in front of sailor.

message 211: by Mac (new)

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments He watched as sailor screamed and raved. He felt bad for her, for what she had been given. When she handed him the knife and asked him to kill her, he thought about it, but knew he could never. He wasn't going to kill someone who was lost and scared and alone. He tucked the knife in his belt and put a hand on sailors shoulder. "Sailor, I'm not going to kill you. I won't. To be honest, tomb would kill me. You still have a life to live, full of potential, just like everyone else. I know you have done bad things, but you can change the affect you have on people's lives. You can improve them, make them better. Tomb still loves you and would be so incredibly thrilled if you would be on our side. There isn't a point to the violence going on. If you stop it, you could save lives instead of kill. It's one step forward in the correct direction. And sailor, please help me get Tomb back. I could use your help, and tomb would love that. Please?" He asked, cautious of the girl.

message 212: by Mac (new)

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments The fight had gone out of sailor. She had leaned herself against chase and cried, looking for any possible comfort, even if it came from someone she hated. Chase stood there, and put a hand on her back, trying to comfort her, but he felt awkward, as this wasn't tomb. When sailor said okay, chase almost smiled, almost. He had to get Tomb back, now. "Hey, it's alright, we're gonna go get your sister, and it will be like better times when it was you and her. We can get you a house on campus and you won't have to live in a constant state of fear. No more meaningless death. Tomb would love to have you there, and though It might take a little getting used to, it could work. And if there are others like you, who want an end to the useless fighting, then we can take them with. We will never make you use your powers to take lives. Though you have done bad things, forgiveness is always an option. Always. And as for captain, if he really does love you, he'll see how much this is hurting you. How tired you are of the mindless killing. He'll understand and maybe even join you. Sailor, I told your sister this, and I'll tell it to you. There is so much out on the world. This tiny island isn't the end goal. There is so much to do out there, so much good, so much adventure. It's all out there. Someday you will see it." He said, taking her hand and leading her towards camp, digging his knife out of the tree on the way. He took her back to his house so they could get supplies and such for their rescue.

message 213: by Mac (new)

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments Chase was wary of sailor, but was convinced that she'd at least help him save tomb. They set off towards where sailor said tomb was being kept. Chase followed her for a while, trekking through the forest. One thing he was especially wary of though was captain. He did not want sailor to see captain, for fear she might bail on him and give him away. That would really, really suck. He wanted to get in, and get out, nice and quick. He wasn't quite sure what he'd find when they got there, but all he could hope was that tomb was ok. If she wasn't, he did not know what he would do with himself. "Sailor, before we get there, and just for my insurance, I'm gonna say something to leave you thinking about should you decide to betray me. If you do, I will most surely be killed and so will many back at camp. I know you have quite the slideshow. How many more faces can you stand to add?" He asked, looking at her seriously. After that, they continued in silence.

message 214: by Mac (new)

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments When they walked into camp, he had his knife hilt in hand, ready to be drawn from its sheath. It was a ramshackle place and there were only a few rivals as far as he could see. When sailor told him where she was, he didn't hesitate. He ran around the corner and found the brown house she was talking about. It was a small one story home with pale facades and worn away, weathered windows. He bust through the rickety door, and it was quite odd that no one tried to stop him. "Tomb!? Tomb where are you?" He called, cautiously checking corners and peering into the kitchen. "Tomb, it's me! Your evil twin sister tried replacing you! Where ar-" he cut off, as Tomb had stepped out of a room at the end of a hall. "Oh my god, tomb! I was so worried!" He said, rushing forward.

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments (( no worries! It wasn't that short!))

message 216: by Mac (new)

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments Completely ignoring captain, he looked at Tomb. She was in terrible shape. Starved, burned, paler than he thought possible, and only a mere skeleton of herself. "Tomb, its me, it really is. I've come here with sailor and we want to help. She tried to replace you. Tomb, please, we can get out of here." He pleaded with her, not believing how defeated the girl in front of him looked. Her hollow eyes looked at him long and hard, looking him up and down. He turned to captain and in a low steely voice and said to him, "what have you done to her? You sick, twisted bastard. To what end? And as for your princess, she's outside right now talking to your friends out there. She's tired of killing for nothing. She's turning against you ya bastard. If I were you, I'd get out there if I were you." Chase was pissed.

message 217: by Mac (new)

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments With captain gone, he walked over to tomb, who recoiled and pulled her arms to her chest. He gazed at her, feeling so bad that he hadn't known sooner. She'd obviously been tortured and she wasn't in good shape. Now she was scared of him. "Oh baby, oh god. Hey, it's me, I'm really here Tomb. It's me. I knew something was off when your sister came back at the beach. But she knew you inside and out. Oh tomb. It's me. The poor kid who you hauled to the hospital, and saved." Pulling his shirt up to reveal the scars that cross crossed his chest. "The guy who followed you around on any adventure you took. The dude who was too gutless to tell you that he loved you until you almost died. The dork who sang and danced in our living room, and tried to get you to sing. It's me Tomb, it really is. It's the sarcastic kid that you call walnut. Please. Cmon, we gotta get out of here. I don't know how long sailor will actually be on our side. I was bluffing with captain, we gotta get out of here." He said to her, offering his hand to her. He didn't want to scare tomb anymore than she already was, but they really needed to get out of there.

message 218: by Mac (new)

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments Chase held tomb, cradling her. He walked out on quite the scene. Sailor and captain were embraced, but captain moved her to arms length, and said something to her. Chase heard and he gave a snort. All eyes went to him. Shite. He'd wanted to get out clean. Oops. "Ah, well hello everyone. I'm assuming like me, you just heard what captain said to sailor, and if that's what you believe, than I don't know if you guys even have minds. The fact that captain has to drill his love into you should be the first indicator that something is wrong. The only thing being accomplished here is needless bloodshed. How many of you have lost friends in fights that haven't even changed things? He doesn't love you, he controls you." He said confidently, then he turned to sailor, addressing her personally, "sailor, I don't know what to tell you. I know you love captain, and he might even have some real affection towards you, but it's selfish affection. He's not the only one who can love you. Tomb loves you, and she always will. She's your sister and she wants nothing more than for things to be like old times. She wants her sister sailor. She does love you. I hope you learn that. But right now, I'm going to get out of here. All of you are always welcome back at camp, no matter what you've done in the past. I know most of you won't show, but I hope to see one or two of you at least. There's more out there guys, more out there than this." He shot a meaningful glance at sailor, and with Tomb in his arms, he ran off as fast as he could, ignoring the agonizing pain that came when captain snapped his fingers. He just ran as fast and far as he could.

message 219: by Mac (new)

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments The pain from captain subsided from Cole as he ran farther from the rivals camp. He slowed his pace, but not by much, not wanting to stop until he was home. When he saw his own camp, he slowed to a walk. He was exhausted, but he walked her to the hospital and waited as the doctors washed her, applied salves and bandages to her wounds, and told her she needed to eat. Then they sent her with chase, back to their house. He carried her back to the house, talking to her softly, explaining everything that happened. "I tried to get sailor on our side tomb, I really did. I thought she might come, but she didn't. I'm sorry I didn't realize sooner she just was so like you. I thought something was off, but she convinced me otherwise. Tomb, please forgive me." He said as he opened the door to their house and settled tomb on the couch, rushing off to get her some food and water.

message 220: by Mac (new)

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments "I know Tomb, I tried to get through to her and if it weren't for captain, she would have come with us. She wanted to Tomb, she really did..." he said trailing off as she waved away her food. He saw the sadness in her eyes and knew she was thinking of, sailor, and everything. He also knew she felt a little betrayed by chase. He should have known he was right. How could he expect her to eat when all of these things were running through her mind. "Tomb, I need you to eat, please. It's the only way for you to get stronger and help your sister." He said, knowing this would motivate her to eat. "And tomb, I really am so sorry that I left you there so long. I drew a knife on sailor at the beach, but she tricked me. She said all the right things and I felt like I was going crazy. I'm so sorry. Please forgive me. I came for you as soon as I knew what had happened. I can't imagine what they did to you. I... I..." but he couldn't go on because the look Tomb gave him made him stop.

message 221: by Mac (new)

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments Chase listened and hung his head when she told him about what she'd been through. No wonder she flinched whenever he came near her. His eyes started watering. "I- well, I'm gonna leave it here in case you get hungry ok? Let me know when you want to go to bed. I'm gonna be in the kitchen, cleaning up some things." He told her shakily. The truth was he didn't have anything to clean, he just didnt want her to see him cry. He broke down in the kitchen, quietly sobbing, tears streaming down his cheeks. He couldn't believe what had happened to her, how they had changed her. There was no mistaking the look of distrust in her eyes, the fear in her eyes when he moved anywhere near her. He wasn't even sure she liked him anymore, and after hearing her story, could he blame her? The best he could do was try and make her feel safe. Maybe she'd come around to him again if she felt safe.

message 222: by Mac (new)

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments When Tomb tugged on his sleeve, he tried to hide his tears, but it was no use. When she holds him, he holds her back, clinging to her. He finally reigns himself in and dries up his tears. He needed to get himself together and take care of Tomb. When she speaks, he laughs at her comment, giving her a dry smile. "I'm sorry baby, I was just really worried and I let it all get to me at once. Now cmon, let's get you back to the couch so we can watch supernatural reruns and maybe I'll even trick you into eating something." He replied, lifting her in his arms. He carried her back into the couch, and this time, he sits down and holds her, cradling her in his arms while he clicks on the tv. He moves the plate with the food on it near him, but doesn't ask her to eat. Instead, he just leaves it there as an option.

message 224: by Mac (new)

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments When Tomb asked him that question, he replied immediately, "Haha, farthest I got was kissing her on the forehead. Though, she did really like to cuddle, especially when she cried." He said, thinking of how often she had cried. "But no, nothing bad at all. Er, um, sorry about that." He said, giving a small frown, still cradling her. He felt bad of course that he'd believed sailor was tomb, and he had felt kind of tainted when he'd found out that tomb was actually sailor. But he was telling the truth, because the most intimate they had gotten was when he'd tucked sailor into bed and gave her a kiss on the forehead. He shivered at the thought and redirected his focus back to tomb, assuring her, "I promise, that is all that happened. Nothing more." He said to her.

message 225: by Mac (new)

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments Chase listened to her questions and raised an eyebrow when she looked at his chest. When she told him she was looking for new injuries he smiled mischievously and said, "suuuure ya are. And as for your recover, if you eat and take care of yourself, only a few days. It won't take long. Just make sure you do everything the doctors tell you. And I'd consider taking a week off. I have two days off, tomorrow and the day after. I think you should do the same once you're better. It can really help clear your mind and allow you to get some things straight." He said. He intended to take the next few days off to be with Tomb and care for her while she was recovering. He really wanted to spend some time with her and keep an eye on her. After what they'd just gone through, he couldn't help but be more protective.

message 226: by Mac (new)

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments He laughed at the random questions she was firing off and answered easily, "I'm 19 and yes I shave." He liked having the old tomb back, and was smiling to himself. She saw him with the stupid grin on his face and demanded to know what he was smiling about. He just laughed and told her, "oh, nothing, I just really friggin love you." He said. She was being goofy, asking him more random questions like where he was from, his height, if he liked watermelon or cantaloupe better, and even what animal he would be if he could be one. Chase just laughed and answered her funny questions. Then he had a few of his own, "alright, alright, I have three questions for you. Have you ever had a gum ball, have you ever dressed in anything other than black, and if I say he lives in a pineapple under the sea, how do you respond?" He asked, laughing at his funny string of questions.

message 227: by Mac (new)

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments He lunged to catch her, but was too slow, but she just laughed and waved away his help. When She walked into the kitchen and grabbed some lemons he chucked and opened his arms, saying, "more lemons love? Haha, come cuddle with me and it might sweeten your mood." He laughed at his terrible pun, grinning at tomb as she groaned and sank into his arms with her lemons. Chase still found it weird and curious at the same time. "Doesn't that, like, hurt or something? It's gotta be insanely sour! What's it taste like? I just don't understand how you are able to do that." He said, shaking his head. She smiled knowingly at him and he just shook his head. As the commercials were coming to a close, chase looked at tomb. Already she looked better, her eyes with more life in them, what little color she'd had coming back to her body. It was good to see.

message 228: by Mac (new)

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments ((Haha, good one!))

When Tomb offered him a lemon, he adamantly refused to eat it. No way was he going to even try. When she brought up the topic of sparring, he was intrigued, it was true that they had never sparred, and they were both very good fighters, but who would win? He felt that it would be tough for Tomb because there wasn't really and animal that could do any harm to solid steel. Than again, he'd seen Tomb in action, and she was clever and lethal. He honestly didn't know how that would turn out. His response was, "well, I don't know what would happen, but why don't you try to stay uninjured long enough to find out. Haha, just recover first, then we can worry about who beats who in a fight, ok champ?" He wasn't going to fight her any time soon if she didn't take care of herself. Supernatural played for a bit longer, but it was getting late. "We better hit the hay, especially you missy. You need all the rest you can get." He said to her.

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments ((Ooooooo nevermind. I misread something. Oops.))

Chase wanted to help her to her room, but she seemed adamant that she could do it herself. "If you need anything just let me know." He said as He watched her walk into her room and quietly close the door. Chase picked up the living room, straitening blankets, putting away remotes, taking the plate with lemon peels and sugar wrappers and throwing them away. He made a hot chocolate, and sat in the kitchen, reflecting on the day. It hadn't necessarily been a pleasant one, but at least he had his tomb back. And to him, that was all that really mattered. He was so glad he had her back, and he would do anything to keep it that way. After sipping his drink for a while, he cleaned his mug and went into his room. He got ready for bed and climbed under the covers, closed his eyes, and tried to get some sleep.

message 230: by Mac (new)

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments When chase walked into the kitchen, he was the exact opposite of bright eyed and bushy tailed. He hadn't gotten good sleep last night, and he was thankful he had the day off. When Tomb told him about her plan, he nodded and replied, "I have to agree with you. I'm telling you, I was so close to making her believe there was something better, so close. If it hadn't been for captain, she would have come with us. I know it. Well do it, but you have to get better first ok? Before we go, you have to be at 100%. It ideas no good for sailor if you aren't, ok? Well get her tomb, don't worry." He said, sliding a bagel into the toaster and grabbing some apple juice from the fridge. He looked Tomb over and again, she looked loads better than she he'd first rescued her. Granted she still looked frail and weak, at least he could recognize the glint in her eyes that told him she was feeling herself.

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments "Ah, ah ah, stop right there. The camp is fine. Just because you get kidnapped for a few days doesn't mean everything goes to hell. Everything is just how you left it. And as for pushing your strength, we can take a short walk around camp. I informed mars what had happened while the doctors were fixing you up. Sailor didn't do anything to anyone, promise. If you would like to walk around camp with me, you may, but nothing else, and if I hear a complaint about it, I swear to whatever deity of your choosing I will pick you up and drag you back here." He said, only sorta kinda maybe joking. He forced Tomb to finish her breakfast, the. helped get her shoes on. He opened the door for her, bowing low and saying, "M'lady" grinning at the smirk she gave him and walked off with her.

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments He saw the mischievous glint in her eye right off and knew instantly that whatever he did or said, she wouldn't listen. She was so friggin stubborn and he hated it. "I see that look in your eye Tomb. I've been around you enough times to know exactly what that means. But you know what, this could be amusing. Go ahead, sprout some wings and fly away. I'd be impressed if you made it out of camp in your condition. Ever thought, hey, maybe I should start small and build my strength every day instead of testing your limits right away and having a better than not chance of harming yourself? I was a varsity track athlete for all 4 years of high school, and when a buddy came back from shin splints, we didn't send them out on an 8 mile run right away, or else they just got injured all over again." He said with annoyance in his voice.

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments Chase just shook is head and said, "you got it backwards, I so utterly love you, and maybe tomorrow. But right now you just need a walk. Actually, you know what, if you eat all the food I serve to you, and don't do anything dumb like flying today, I'll let you give flight a shot tomorrow, how bout that? But today, you're going to have to suffer being on the ground." He said, hoping to strike some kind of deal with her. If he could keep her grounded for one day, the recovery process would be much more thorough and wholesome than letting her fly and strain herself. Then he remembered what he told her if she complained. "Oi, what did I say about complaining? Call me a walnut but I will drag you back home." He said, throwing a grin in, letting her know he was just playing with her.

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments Chase frowned when she asked him about his time. "Well, when sailor came back on the beach, I noticed a scar on her side that I knew you didn't have, but it was very faint. I pulled a knife on her, there was a standoff. She answered a bunch of really personal questions right and made me feel like I was crazy. I took a day off because I was losing it. Watched a movie with sailor that was the start of her moral questionings. Talked to Alana who told me it was sailor. Played some dirty psychological warfare on sailor, stopped her from rampaging all over camp, convinced her to help me get you, then we came after you. At least, that's the spark notes version of it." He said, giving a very basic run through of all that had happened to him after Tomb disappeared.

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments "Well, she knew the entire friggin time apparently, but I never got a chance to wack her upside the head for it. Thanks for reminding me. Anyway, she likes you better than sailor. She told me so. But she didn't stick around to chit chat. She's kind of snobby huh? I guess I never really realized what a pain in the rear she is. Anyway, yeah, apparently she knew all along." He finished, frowning at the thought. She coulda told someone, that woulda been nice. He pushed that aside and said, "When you were on your adventure, did you find anything out about the rivals? Anything we can use for when we rescue sailor?" He asked, hoping maybe Tomb might know a thing or two about their enemies camp. Hopefully something pertaining to the layout or number of enemies.

message 237: by Mac (new)

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments Chase listened to tomb give him her assessment of the rivals forces. He was heartened to hear that with their dwindling forces, it would be very hard for them to launch any effective offensive against the camp. When Tomb talked about sailor, he pondered it. "I don't know Tomb, is we let her go mainland, then I don't know what will happen. She'd be all alone, and that's what scares her most. That's why she still clings to captain. If we get her to the mainlands, I'm not sure how she'll handle it. She could have a nervous breakdown and kill a whole bunch of people." He said, running the possibilities over in his head. He didn't know what they would do with sailor once they got her, but he did know they needed to get her, or at least try.

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments "How about we cross that bridge when we get there ok? We still have to rescue the poor girl. You still have to get better. Cmon, let's get to the mess hall, I'm sure mars would like to see you." He said as he led Tomb towards the mess hall. When they got there, mars called out, "Tombie! It's good to see you, what can I get you? Soup?" Tomb shot a glare at him for using the nickname she hated so very much. Chase ordered his usual fish and chips, cape cod style, and went to find a spot. His stomach was growling and he was really hungry by the time food had been delivered. He plowed into his food, eating the fish first, and the French fries after, dipping them in ketchup. "Man that hits the spot. I love it. Tomb, you gotta try these sometime." He said to her.

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments Chase watched on as Tomb ate. He could see that she was trying not to throw up her lunch. Once they had finished in the mess hall, tomb and chase walked back home. On the way they had seen rain and Dice, playing with each other. Of course, rain came over to tomb, and wrapped her short little arms around tombs legs. "You skinny. You need candy." She said simply to her. Pulling a candy bar out of her pocket and offering it to Tomb. Tomb waved it off saying that she had just eaten, but chase could tell that it made tombs day to see little rain. After that, rain ran off to do whatever rain does, and Tomb and chase continued on home. He could tell Tomb was getting really agitated at being so weak and incompetent, but chase knew she'd feel better soon.

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments "The kids birthdays? No I don't believe so. I think she was a little busy with the knife combat classes on my days off." He said, as he went in and sat next to her. When she wrapped him up and laid on his stomach, he smiled, putting his arms around her, and said, "when I first stepped onto this island, I never ever in a million years thought that I would be cuddling you on my couch." He said with a laugh, massaging her shoulders as she lay there groaning from what he guessed was soreness. He smiled to himself at this because if she was sore from walking, there's no way she could have flown. He kept massaging her shoulders, then her back, figuring that it would probably help loosen up her muscles and maybe even hasten the recovery process, which would be ideal.

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments She was telling him about the birthday idea and he definitely thought it was a good idea. Things could definitely use some loosening up around here. As she was talking, he moved his hands to her lower back to rub it out when she gave a yelp. At first he was worried he had hurt her, but when she looked embarrassed and glared at him, he realized what had happened. A mischievous smile slowly spread across his face. "Oh. Oh you are kidding. Of everything you could be. You don't mean to tell me that the dark, mysterious, and scary tomb is ticklish. Oh my gosh this is the happiest day of my life." He said, meeting her glare with a childish smile. "I've got two words. Tickle fight." And with that, he launched his attack, tickling her everywhere. It was so funny to think that this girl who ate lemons for food, was ticklish.

message 242: by Mac (new)

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments Chase laughed with glee, and when she finally pleaded for him to stop, he did, grinning at her widely. She was on top of him from the tickle fight and he looked up at her. She was smiling and giggling uncontrollably, looking as cute as ever. Once she caught her breath, he pulled her down to him and kissed her softly, memorizing every moment of it. He smiled goofily at her as she pulled away a few inches, so they were nose to nose, staring at each other. He pulled her back in for a hug, and said, "hey, wanna watch a movie? I can make popcorn and we can build a blanket and cushion fort." Call him childish, but who doesn't love a good fort? She looked at him, smiling and shaking her head and he defended himself saying, "oh cmon! Forts are fun!"

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments Chase fumbled with the set up, poking and prodding buttons, but it was being a tricky little thing. He poked his finger in an outlet port and received a shock. "Ow, son of a biscuit. That hurt." He said, as Tomb walked over, an amused look on her face, and kissed his hand. When she inquired about his movie selection, he considered their options for a second, wondering if there was one tomb would especially like. Last time he picked a movie he'd brought sailor to tears, and he definitely did not want to do that to tomb. "Ummmm, I'm terribly indecisive and I don't know what to watch, so automatically, the choice has been deferred to you." He said, doing the motions a football referee would do when a team defers a penalty. She flipped through the movies shaking her head at his shenanigans.

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments ((Love that movie!))

He looked at her choice and approved. It was a really good movie and the music in it was killer. "Guardians of the galaxy? Perfect, nice choice." He commented. He put it in and hit play, finally getting the darn thing to work without shocking himself. As he settled down, tomb came over and sat in his lap, handing him his popcorn. When she poked him in the chest and said he was to take care of her, he wrapped his arms protectively around her, kissed her and said, "of course I will love. I'll take care of you no matter what." She was satisfied with this and settled in, leaning against him while sitting in his lap, and his arms wrapped around her. He was happy to finally have some downtime with Tomb and seeing her relaxed and happy made his day. He ate popcorn, watching as the previews rolled through and gave Tomb occasional kisses on the cheek and neck as they waited for the movie to start.

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments Chase was really happy that Tomb was enjoying the movie, and when she pulled him into a kiss, he didn't hesitate, kissing her for a long moment. When she turned back to the screen he smiled widely, setting his chin lightly on top of her head, and watched the movie. When the music came on, he smiled and poked tomb, saying, "the soundtrack to this movie is the best. One of the reasons it's so good." She smiled and nodded, watching as the lead character flew out of a space prison with his Walkman, and his new friends, especially the big bulky one, decided he was a crazy idiot. The movie was very funny and he couldn't help but laugh along with tomb. He never wanted this to end, and it was still early in the evening, so he was glad he had the rest of the night with her.

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments Once the movie finished, chase said, "ok, cmon, lets make a fort and then we can either watch another movie, or play a game. I was thinking since I'm the architectural genius, I should be general of the fort and in charge." He said jokingly, imitating a stately general. Tomb just laughed and threw her blanket at him. They decided to use the cushions as support, and draped the blankets over them, successfully creating an inclosed fort that looked pretty cool. "Man, it's been forever since I made a fort! I forgot how awesome it was! Hey, we have to name it now, like every great fort. What if we named it the grace yard? Get it, because you're Tomb. Or what if we called it, cape de verde? Just because it sounds extra cool!" He mused.

message 247: by Mac (new)

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments Chase sighed, and went to the fridge, grabbing lemons, sugar, a plate, and a napkin. When he got back in the fort and she requested a story, he thought about one he could tell. He remembered a Greek myth that he really liked and decided he'd tell her that. "Alright, sure, I got one. Once there was a giant named Damasen. He was a child of Gaea and was born to oppose the war god, Ares. Because of this, Damasen was the exact opposite. Naturally he was helpful and peaceful, not causing any trouble. He lived as a farmer in the mortal world as a farmer. One day, a drakon appeared in the mortal world, and killed a close friend of his. In a fit of rage, he slayed the drakon, shoving its head through an oak stump, killing it. His mother was outraged by the show of violence against one of her creations and condemned him to Tartarus for the deed, where he now must fight the drakon every day." He said. "I like it, because it reminds me that no matter what I was created to be, I can choose to defy anyone who tries to make me someone else." He added.

message 248: by Mac (new)

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments When chase finished the story, he saw tomb ponder it. He knew it was a sweet story with a bitter ending, but who knows, maybe someday two demigods would fall to Tartarus and help him get out. Ya never know. She seemed to like it, but he also noticed a hint of disappointment at the ending of it. He wasn't surprised, as most Greek myths tended to end in tragedy, death and deceit. Then he saw tomb get a worried look on her face and she said his name like she was about to ask a question. He waited for her to go on with the question, but she hesitated, seeming as if she wasn't sure if she really wanted to ask it or not. Chase jumped in saying, "what is it? Cmon, don't be shy, what's on your mind?" He was a little worried, because she only held back a question if it were serious, but whatever it was, he was sure there was an answer for it.

message 249: by Mac (new)

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments Chase thought a moment. What were they going to do? "Well, we could always go back to the world. It's not like the government could stop us from going back. And we could always become super heroes or something like that. We could always aid and protect citizens in war torn countries. We could live normal lives as people. We could go back and try to build a life. There is a lot out there. I know it's been a while since you've seen it, but it's full of opportunities. We could go to college like two normal young adults. There's a lot that we could do. You name it, and we could be it. I know you think that people like us can't fit in, but I know we could do something out there. I know we could build a life out there. We could go wherever we wanted, settle wherever we desired. I never got to travel much, but I've always wanted to. It's all wide open for us, and I think we could do it." He said, brushing her cheek with the back of his fingers. He really did think that whatever they wanted to be, they could do.

message 250: by Mac (new)

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments Chase was a little stumped on that one. She was right that they couldn't take the whole village with, and if they saved sailor, they still didn't know what they were going to do with her. And they couldn't just leave all of these campers here on this island. How were they going to get on in life then? Chase had a few ideas, but he didn't want to try and face more than one big problem at a time. "Here, we can brainstorm on that later, but let's just try and save sailor first. No use in taking on two problems at once when you could just take them on one at a time. Ok?" He replied, taking her hand. He couldn't imagine what tomb must be going through with all of those thoughts running around in her mind. It must be making her extremely anxious he thought.
