Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments Chase looked from tomb to the boy. He was so young, barely older than rain. Tomb was pretty shocked from the delivery, so chase helped her over to the boy. The little boy looked scared and on the verge of tears. No one was saying anything so he decided to introduce himself. "Hi kid, I'm Tomb. Ya got a name? Because I'd hate to keep having to call ya kid. This is Tomb, my friend, she is kind of the leader of all us miscreants, and we're here to help ok?" He said in a soothing voice, trying not to overwhelm or scare the kid. The boy looked up at him, some of the fear receding from his eyes. "I'm... I... My name is Dice." The boy said quietly. "Well dice, cmon, we'll give you the orientation, Tomb here is a really cool leader and she's gonna show you around with me ok?" He told the boy.

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments The boy considered Tomb and replied, "I can animate things. They call me the animator." As a demonstration, he pointed at a practice dummy, and all of a sudden, it was leaping about doing flips and tricks. When Dice let his hand fall, the dummy went lifeless. "Anything with vague humanlike qualities, I can animate." He elaborated. Chase was intrigued and wanted to know more, but decided not to press the boy, as he didn't want him overwhelmed. "Cmon Dice, we'll grab you some food than show you around, how does that sound?" He asked Dice. The little boy nodded his head and followed Tomb and chase to the dining hall, rain continuously babbling about tea parties, boas, and pinkies up. Which she stressed was incredibly important.

message 153: by Mac (new)

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments "I guess we're having tea now then." Chase said chuckling. Rain was getting a little huffy that the attention wasn't on her and was starting to get really fussy. She was probably just tired and a little cranky, like all little kids got. He had a sister so he knew exactly what was coming next. Chase popped off his chair, whispered to tomb he was gonna take rain to cool off. When he picked up Tomb, she was not having any of it, she was starting to yell and scream and kick. He was able to take her outside, only because she was so busy with her temper tantrum that she couldn't focus on turning to a humming bird. She hit him and screamed and wailed, but he just took her into his and tombs house. She had begun to sputter out when he walked through the door and by the time he had her in bed, she was sleeping, her cheeks still wet from tears. He wiped the leftover tears away and decided he should stay and watch her, on account that she was a three year old kid, and he wasn't taking any risks with the rivals around.

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments ((Totally!))

Chase had been waiting in front of the tv for an hour and he was starting to wonder how Dice was doing. Who was he? Where was he from? He so badly wanted to be there, helping out Tomb, finding out more about this new kid, but rain needed to sleep a few hours and once that was done, he had to go teach hand to hand. Great. He would just have to ask Tomb tonight when she got back from archery about the boy. He sat on the couch watching the office when rain finally padded out of the room she had used. It had been three hours and it was almost time for him to start his lesson in the arena. Rain was as happy as could be and there was no hint of any anger at all left in her. She was hungry so he walked her to the dining hall before headed off to the arena.

message 155: by Mac (new)

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments Chase entered the arena and observed his class for the day. It was a bunch of the kids that weren't quite getting the whole thing. He drilled them on footwork and some grappling, hoping to see a little improvement and was pleasantly surprised by how well they were starting to get their technique down. Execution still needed work but it was getting better. After his lesson concluded, he walked home, tired and looking forward to seeing tomb. Tomb wasn't in yet, but he figured she couldn't be long. He was right, as 30 min later he smiled as he heard Tomb opening the door. He ruined rubber, and hid behind a wall. When she walked by, he said, "hey beautiful!" And lightly tackled her from behind, taking care to be gentle with the wound on her back, and making sure she landed on top of his bouncy rubber body. "How was the rest of the day love?" He asked.

message 156: by Mac (new)

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments He listened to her and rubbed her shoulders, she looked so very tired and stressed, and chase felt bad for her. "Rain was with mars last I saw, she cooled down and took a long nap after her tantrum. She's ok though. You look dead tired love, why don't you shower and get some sleep? You'll feel better in the morning. And if you are hungry, I can make you a sandwich if you like." He offered, wanting to help take the edge off of tombs stress. She said she wouldn't mind a sandwich, so he made her a few that she could have once she got out of the shower. He was waiting in the kitchen for her and when she entered he smiled. I hope you like PB and J's he said, handing her a plate with a sandwich on it. He grabbed one himself and sat down across from her.

message 157: by Mac (new)

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments "Down the hall to the left. Mine is the first one on the right. The bed is all made up and I had argante make you a change of clothes in case you didn't have time to grab the stuff out of your house. Let me know if you need anything ok?" He said, hoping he'd made her transition as smooth as possible. Wanting to make her feel better he added, "you healed pretty quick, a few more days and you'll be back to normal, as good as new." She ate her sandwich quickly and sat with him for a bit. At 10:00 chase said that they had better get to bed to rest up for tomorrow. Before he went into his room, he gave Tomb a kiss and said, "goodnight, I love you." He left the door open a bit and went to go sit on his bed side. The next few days were gonna be real busy.

message 158: by Mac (new)

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments Chase woke up the next morning early. He went into the kitchen, pulled out a 5lb bag of pancake mix, and made some pancakes. Tomb walked out a little later, just as he was putting away the pancake mix. He had made two stacks, one for him and one for her. She was tired and she looked very troubled, but her bed head was cute and he gave a small smile to himself. "Morning sunshine, how are you? I made some pancakes, the first three I burned, so excuse the smell. Syrup is at the table, and I've got milk and juice in the fridge. Unless you are a coffee person, which if you are, I don't know how you drink that bitter tasting stuff. But ya know, I'd be willing to bet you do drink coffee and if you do, I'll bet ya you take it black." He said, grinning at her.

message 159: by Mac (new)

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments "Well, I get to give a lecture on the most effective and efficient way to use ones powers, and such in two hours, then lunch, and after that, I'm training a class on knife fighting, but after that I'm done. Should be done by 3:00 which is earlier than usual, but hey I'll take it. How about you?" He asked her as she found a coffee filter. He inspected tomb a little closer and say a shade of purple under her eyes, which probably meant she hadn't really gotten a good nights sleep. Her hair was messy, but in a cute sort of way. He decided he wouldn't press her about the sleep, because it was a given that she was stressed, and maybe she just had a bad nights sleep, but he got the feeling there was something more. He took a bite of pancake, which to his credit, was actually not bad.

message 160: by Mac (new)

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments Chase swatted away Alana's hand and fixed his hair he strode out the door and saw an interesting sight. The practice dummies were walking around like zombies while Dice yelled at them to stop. Chase sighed and grabbed his steel bearing. The zombie training dummies tried to attack him but they were slow and stupid. In a flash, chase had grabbed the 4 dummies and wrapped them in a hug. He tried cutting their heads off, but they didn't seem to notice. Chase guessed that the animation still worked. He detained them with a big bear huh until he got the idea of cutting their legs off. Once he did so, the dummies just waved their hands everywhere. Definitely weird. It wasn't very dangerous, but on a larger scale, it could have been catastrophic. He walked over to Dice who had taken a special interest in his shoes. "Hey, don't worry about it Dice, just try to be careful ok? You'll get it." He said to the kid encouragingly.

message 161: by Mac (new)

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments Chase listened tombs theory and frowned. That could be very bad news. If the rivals did still have someone in camp and they somehow got Dice to join, they really would be in a lot of trouble. "Hey, let's give the kid the benefit of the doubt. He is young and is scared but we'll take care of him. And I trust him to know what's wrong and what's right. Sometimes I find that the ones with the best morals are those that are the youngest." Chase commented, thinking of how his sister was morally challenged about swatting a mosquito. "Don't worry love, we'll keep an eye on him and be careful. Were gonna be alright." He continued reassuringly. He knew that this was just one more problem on tombs rapidly growing list. Chase wished he could help.

message 162: by Mac (new)

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments When Tomb took off, he considered following her, but he had no idea where she was going and what she was doing. All he could do was call after her, "Tomb!" But she either she didn't hear him or didn't care. Chase sighed, he hoped she would be careful. He walked off to go give his lecture, explaining to some kids how using your powers smartly could save not only yours, but others lives as well. After that, he ate lunch and went to combat training. Tomb hadn't shown up yet, and he was beginning to worry, especially with rivals running loose. He ran through a lesson on dagger fighting, but he was distracted. His mind was somewhere else. After their lesson, and Alana's usual fit of rage at the unfairness of sparring him, he walked around nervously, waiting for tomb.

message 163: by Mac (new)

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments Chase had walked around camp nervously for a while before reluctantly getting dinner then going back to his house. He sat on his bed with his door closed, hoping to hear the front door open. Finally, as the sun had almost completely set. He heard the front door open, and then moments later, tombs room opened and then closed. Well, at least she was back. He was a little frustrated at her for making him worry, but he decided to just let it go on account of Tomb being so cooped up lately. He knew she hated doing nothing, but he still wish she woulda stayed or come back during his time off. Knowing she was safe, chase relaxed a bunch and all of the tension that had been building was released. He got up, left his room for the kitchen for macaroni and cheese, as he had just realized how hungry he was.

message 164: by Mac (new)

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments "Yeah you're friggin sorry you walnut. You had me worried for most of the day, flying off like that. Was too worried to eat so now I'm makin Mac and Cheese at 10:00. You see what you've brought me too?" He said half joking. He was mad at her for making him worry so, but then again, it's not like she was his to tell what to do and what not to do. And that's just how it is so he had decided he'd better get used to that. "Just, I don't know, tell me where you're going next time? The rivals are still out there and even though they're weak, they are still dangerous. You just scared me a little, that's all." He explained as he stirred the noodles, then turning and hugging tomb close. She was tired and he could tell she was dying the easy Mac. "Want some food?" He asked.

message 165: by Mac (new)

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments Even if he tried, he could not have stayed mad at her. He couldn't even suppress a smile when she kissed his lips. He finished the Mac and cheese and filled two bowls. He brought them over to the set table where Tomb was waiting. He gave her the food and sat down next to her, giving her a smile. "Curse you Tomb, I can't even stay mad at you." He said, watching her eat her food. He took a bite from his own Mac and cheese and took a swig of milk. "Rain was asking for you earlier, something about running out of candy and Dice was working on getting his powers under control. The animations he made happened when he woke up and forgot where he was and got scared. He has more control than we thought, but If spooked, he can cause some animations." Added chase.

message 166: by Mac (new)

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments Chase was surprised by this and was also intrigued. What could they possibly be doing? "Nope, no idea. I didn't even know Alana would hang out with mars. She is kinda cold, and her Sherlock habit is unnerving. Anyway, no, no idea what they're doing." He said, finishing his food and cleaning out his dish. "It's really late Tomb and tomorrow I have border patrol in the morning, supervise archery, do another knife combat class and then border patrol again. I'll be out from 10:00 until 9:00. Man, it's gonna be busy as hell." He complained, sitting back down across from her. He wasn't going to have any time at all. "I better go to bed here soon, or else I will not have the will to get out of bed in the morning and get to work. What have you got?" He asked.

message 167: by Mac (new)

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments Chase listened to her and realized how bleak she must see things. "Hey, tomb, listen, its gonna be alright. You have wings right? You can escape from here, you can get out if you want. Once everyone in camp here is old enough to take over, you could get out of here. It's not like the government could stop you, and as long as you didn't do anything bad, there's no reason to stop you. There's a life outside of here Tomb, I promise. Maybe the government will give you some money and a place to live. This isn't the only place there is in life. There are so many places to go in the world tomb. There is so much out there. I promise." He said taking her hand. Realistically, tomb could leave whenever she wanted, like she did today, and whose to say she has to stop at the coast. One day she could kiss him on the cheek and fly away. He knew she had liked being on her own and that it was easier for her, so whose to say she would take him with. Of course he hoped she did, but in the end it was her decision.

message 168: by Mac (new)

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments Chase sat there frowning, thinking about how hard it must be to constantly feel like there was nothing left in the world to work to. No end goal to achieve. When she got up to leave, he said, "goodnight Tomb, I love you." And before she went into her room he added, "there's more out there, I promise." She just nodded and closed her door as she went into her room. Chase felt bad for Tomb, as she had not had the luxury of seeing the opportunities that were out there. The adventures that life had to offer. Someday he'd try to show her, someday when she was ready. He made a cup of hot chocolate and drank it, as the liquid chocolate soothed him. He thought about life ahead of him, but unlike tomb, he saw hope. Hope that he might find a quiet place to settle down one day. Hope that Tomb might join him too. He smiled at the thought and went into his room to try and get some sleep.

message 169: by Mac (new)

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments Chase woke up, but Tomb was already gone. He threw together a breakfast and went out on border patrol. He walked the border and didn't see anything for the 2 hours he was scheduled to walk it. He saw deer and raccoons, and even a snake, but he saw no rivals or any other threats. When he was finished, he was making his way back when he pulled out his two orbs. He always wished there was a better way to utilize them instead of holding them.he thought a moment and grinned. Oh he had an idea. He rushed off in a fit of laughter. When he was finished, he felt way less vulnerable and was grinning at himself. He went and supervised archery which almost killed him when a newbie let an arrow loose on accident and grazed his hip. He scolded the kid but just told him to be careful where he pointed the thing. After the lesson he made a quick trip to the hospital and got that fixed up, then headed off to the mess hall for lunch.

message 170: by Mac (new)

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments Chase had entered the arena for his combat lesson and when he entered, he saw tomb, Alana, rain and Dice, all sitting together talking. He saw tomb wave him over and he went over to her. "Hey guys, how goes it?" He asked and after receiving a round of fines, and an immediate request to spar from Alana, he complained about his archery practice. Tomb laughed but Alana just shrugged and asked again to spar. Chase knew immediately she had something planned but he did too. "Alright, I'll have to spar you in rubber as I don't have the Steel ball bearing on me," he said, turning out his pockets, "but sure, I'm up for it. Let me give the rest of the class some stuff to work on then I'll come work with you. He walked to where a bunch of the campers had gathered and showed them a disarming technique and a viper beheading strike and then returned to Alana." Alrighty, let's do this.

message 171: by Mac (new)

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments Chase felt the rubber on his back split when Alana slashed him. His rubber state was not very good at taking damage, but no injuries would translate from state to state. The only exception was if a weapon was left in him. If someone stabbed him and left the knife in him, he would then have to remove it before he changed state or else the implement remaining in him would allow nothing to form back, thus creating a stab wound. That happened to him rarely though. When he turned smiling to Alana, she got angry. "WONT YOU FUCKING DIE!?!?" She screamed slashing him more, but now her knives connected with metal. It was true that he didn't have his ballbearing, but he did have a new trick. She faltered, and that's when he stepped into her, placing his foot behind her, grabbing the front of her clothes and pushing her over his leg, tripping her. On the ground, he places his knife to her throat and says, "good one Alana, but you shouldn't falter in your attacks."

message 172: by Mac (new)

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments Shit, this was a problem. Alana was ripping into him and he had to keep shifting so his body did not get too cut up. Wait, did she say diamond? He then got an idea. "Pure diamond huh?" He said as the next round of knives hit him. He selected the diamond blade as the tip hit him, and he switched his material to diamond. He was now the strongest, hardest substance on earth. Alana's eyes widened as she realized her mistake. He reached back and grabbed the diamond knife and momentarily becoming flesh as he removed it leaving a small puncture wound in his body and then changing immediately back to diamond, gripping the blade of the knife. He pressed Alana, and after her moment of glory, she was flustered and quickly made a mistake. As he pinned her again, he showed her the blade he was holding and said, "I'm keeping this, I hope you don't mind." He got off of her
Grinning and returned to flesh, turning his back on her and walking over to tomb, who looked amused with the whole thing.

message 173: by Mac (new)

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments Chase was really confused by Alana's comment. There was nothing harder than diamond. As far as he was concerned nothing could cut diamond except for other diamond spinning really, really fast. He did not know what she could possibly be talking about. Looks like his spars with Alana were going to get a lot more interesting. When Tomb told him about Dante he was intrigued and wanted to ask questions but decided it was best not to. He liked the idea of going to live in the woods not wanting to fight, then again, it was kinda cowardly. We just fought a major battle that we didn't provoke and lost people in, but an all powerful superhero didn't help out? Weak. He'd like to meet Dante and find out what exactly who this guy was, but he figured that was for another time. He went back and concluded his class and then went back to tomb. "I've gotta take an extended border patrol, I hope your meeting goes well, love ya." he said kissing her and then grabbing his own dagger and sheathing it. He left, headed out on his boarder patrol.

message 174: by Mac (new)

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments Chase was patrolling the woods. It had been an hour or so when he encountered a trail of leaves. He was curious and saw that they lead from the edge of camp into the forest. He tracked them to a spot where they just stopped. Weird. He looked around the area but didn't really find anything. He was about to give up on it when he heard a twig snap off to his left. He turned steel, thanks to his new trick, and walked towards the noise. As he approached the area, he thought he might have heard some hushed whispering, but the wind was also acting up so he could be wrong. He took a step forward and heard a mechanical click. A net sprung up around him and he was trapped. "What the hell? Tomb! Someone! Help!" He screamed but a rag was placed over his mouth and he smelled chloroform. Before he could stop himself, he inhaled and lost consciousness.

message 175: by Mac (new)

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments Chase woke up dazed and confused. He heard tomb, but that made no sense. Why would tomb capture him in a net and chloroform him. He sat up dizzily with a stingy smell in his nostrils. "What- how- where the hell am I? Did someone chloroform me?" He asked. That's when he noticed a guy sitting in front of him that he'd never seen before. "Uhhhhh, I'm guessing you're Dante." He said examining the man in front of him. He musta been 18-19 years old. He had white hair and harsh features. He was about an inch taller than chase and a bit bulkier. His cheek sported a crescent shaped scar and his eyes were green. There was something about them though. Maybe it was the slight wrinkle around them or the depth he perceived from the two orbs looking him up and down. Whatever it was, chase knew he was out of his league with Dante and this made him uneasy. The guy had obviously seen quite a bit, and he was wise beyond his age. All that was conveyed in the instant that chase took a look at him.

message 178: by Mac (new)

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments Chase had not appreciated the comment about how non interesting he was, but he let it fly, not wanting to raise tensions between him and this Dante guy. When Dante took tombs breath away, he saw her choke for air and stood up, but he quickly let her breath again. Chase really wanted to give this guy a knuckle sandwich but figured if he tried he'd end up on his butt. "You want them to regroup?" He said echoing tombs concerns. But Dante's reason for wanting to let them live revealed something to him. Dante was a mimic! He could collect and gather the powers from other people! That had to be it! That would make him incredibly powerful and deadly. Chase instantly resolved that no matter what, he would not let Dante get his power. He would keep his distance from the guy and avoid him as much as possible. "Why should we let you take their powers and grow more powerful, while letting them regroup, just so you can sit on the goddamn sidelines and watch them make another attempt at taking our lives. You must think us-" but he too was choked out by Dante for a second, feeling the air rush out from his lungs.

message 179: by Mac (new)

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments As they left Dante's house, chase said, "man that guy is a prick. I thought that some guy off in the woods who's didn't want to fight would be all zen and kind." But this guy was a complete jerk, obviously risen up on an ivory tower thinking he was better than everyone else because he had mimic, or reactive adaptation or whatever he'd called it. Chase did not like him at all. "God, I just wanted to punch that guy in the face the entire time! What is that guys friggin problem? Huh? Man." He complained as they walked.

Once back at camp, chase still had two hours of patrol to do before he could call it a day. He really didn't want to but he was already tired and didn't want to go back to patrol, but he figured he'd better go out and keep guard to be sure that no other rivals showed up. "Tomb, I have to finish my border patrol, I'll be back as soon as possible, and idk, mars can make the food, ill be late."chase told her as he adjusted his sheath and shook his head, clearing the haze caused by the residual chloroform in his nose. He kissed her and started off towards the north woods, hoping the rest of the night would be quiet.

message 180: by Mac (new)

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments Chase spent the next two hours agonizing over what the camp was going to do. Of course it was smartest to lead an offensive soon and finish the rivals as soon as possible, but then they would also have to deal with Dante, which would be a major problem. On the other hand, if they followed Dante's orders, then the rivals would regroup and lead another massive assault on the camp, which would cost the lives of many. There seemed to be no clear decision on any of it and chase was starting to get frustrated. He had been keeping his emotions in check so well but they were all bottled up. He turned metal and pummeled a thick oak tree. The tree shook when he punched it, but he only chipped away about a inch of wood due to is sturdiness. He patrolled until his time was up. Man, what he needed was some music, he thought as he headed back home.

When he walked in the door, he couldn't see tomb, but he figured she was in her room or in the bathroom, but there was no way she was sleeping. Chase grabbed a dusty boom box he'd found in a closet and a couple of cds that he'd found next to it. One was titled rock and rolls greatest hits, so he shoved the cd in the slot and turned up the volume. A clear voice came on with a solo drum beat at the beginning saying, "mister rock it." At which point a guitar blared to life and the voice replied with, "thank you." Chase really liked it, and joined in singing at the chorus, "iiiiii, wanna rock and roll all niiiite, and want it every day, oh I." And then let poisons lead singer take the rest. He was actually a decent singer, especially when it came to rock and roll. The best part was when the guitar solo played, and he totally rocked the air guitar. He was having fun.

message 181: by Mac (new)

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments He grinned at shadow when she walked out in her PJ's and said, "the song is called I wanna rock and roll all night, and there are a ton of versions of it but Poison is my favorite. Cmon, let me play some more for you." He said flipping through the stack of CD's choosing one and sliding it in the slot. He hit play, and immediately a voice came over the speakers with a mellow guitar and an easy drum beat. Chase sang, "Some people call me the space cowboy, yeeeaahhhh. Some call me the gangster of love. Some people call me Maurice." He said, rolling the r in Maurice and an electric guitar kicking in to go waaa-wow. He smiled as "the Joker" by Steve Miller Band played, and sang along to every word. At a break in the song, he motioned for tomb to come and goof off with him, as he felt kind of awkward to be dork into out in front of her.

message 182: by Mac (new)

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments He gave Tomb a pouty face to tomb, but as the first words from AC/DC came out, which was one of his favorite bands, he turned his attention to shredding air guitar and singing the lyrics, "She was a fast machine, She kept her motor clean,
She was the best damn woman I had ever seen, She had the sightless eyes,
Telling me no lies, Knockin' me out with those American thighs." He loved this song and smiled to himself when he saw tomb bobbing her head to the music. He finished the song and went to Tomb, about to say something when it happened. The boom bow, which had a six disc capacity went from the end of the AC/DC to another one. The song that played hit chase hard. Real hard. He had been kneeling next to tomb but he sat down hard when the lyrics came through, soft and melodic. "Starry starry night, paint your palette blue and grey, look out on a summers day, with eyes that know the darkness in my soul." It was the song that his sister had insisted he teach her for her school talent show. "Starry starry night" was the name and it was by Don Mclean. He'd thought it was kinda dark, but he had to admit, the bittersweet lyrics and the soft flowing melody was so pretty. He had spent months with his sister, teaching her the nuances of the song and how to sing it. At the talent show, she won, and even received a standing ovation. It was his favorite memory of her. Chase swallowed hard and leaned against Tomb heavily as he listened to the song. But he smiled, because it was a good memory. By the end, he poked tomb and asked, "please sing one with me?"

message 183: by Mac (new)

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments Chase had been disappointed that Tomb wouldn't sing a song with him, but he didn't press her on it. When she asked what he had tomorrow, he was actually surprised by how light his workload was. "Actually, I'm taking a group on basic survival training for an hour or two in the morning and that's it." He explained as she blinked sleepily. She nodded and yawned, curling up on the couch. She told him she was going to sleep and before she nodded off, he places a kiss on her forehead, saying goodnight to her. He sat with her for a bit, and when he was sure she was asleep, he paused the music on the boom box. He glanced around and then gently launched into a song, singing softly. It was a song he was sure only he knew, but it was a favorite of his. It was by an artist named Martin Zellar and the song was about a man singing his love to sleep. It was sweet and he liked it a lot. The name of it was "goodnight Meridel" and it was a sweet tune. He reached the chorus, singing, "goodnight now Meridel don't let the bed bugs bite. Lay down your head girl and let sweet dreams fill your night." Once he was finished, he got up, and grabbed a blanket, shifting his material to match the soft fabric, picked Tomb up, and carried her into her bed. He tucked her in and kissed her lightly once more before leaving to go see if he could find sleep himself.

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments Chase had gone back to his room and fell asleep, thinking of his family back home. Sleep eventually calmed him, and he drifted off, to another dreamless night. Upon waking up, chase realized it was 8:00, and realized he didn't have to go anywhere for another two hours. He got up and stalked down the hall, into tombs room, who was still asleep. He woke her, and she was bleary eyed and tired. She didn't want to get up, so chase just lay down next to her, cuddling her as she slept a little more. He thought Tomb was extremely cute when she slept. He'd never tell her, but she made soft snores in her sleep, and she looked so very peaceful. It was impossible not to smile at the mighty shapeshifting defender of camp, curled up in his arms, snoring ever so lightly. She was so friggin cute!

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments When Tomb opened her eyes and kissed him, he smiled. He really liked her kisses. They cuddled for a while and when it came time for chase to get up to make breakfast, Tomb protested. Chase obliged and lay with her a bit longer, wrapping her in his arms, and giving her a soft kiss on the nose. When he finally actually had to get up, he said to her, "hey, I'm gonna go make some cereal so I can hop over to my survival training. I will only be gone two hours, and then I'll have the rest of the day off. If you don't have much going on, then you could tell mars about our predicament and let him worry about it for the day, and I'll meet you back here and we can do something if you'd like. A picnic, cuddle and watch movies, or go and play with weapons. Whatever you feel." He said.

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments When he was about to leave, and tomb asked him what he wanted, he didn't really know. But he had an idea, "hey, bring the bomb box and some CD's, and you can't go wrong with mars fish and chips, or PB and J's. I'll be back soon, meet you here alright?" He said, blowing a kiss to her as he jogged across the camp, late for his class. He got there only a few minutes late, and led his class to a few stations, showing them how to make fires, ways to purify water, different ways to set snares, and identification of flora and fauna. It was an easy class and he loved teaching it, because he used to love learning about this kind of stuff back home. When he had finished, he headed back to his house to maybe take a quick shower before he went out with tomb, eager to take her on what he guessed was a "date"

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments Chase got a quick shower, and went back to the living room where tomb was waiting for him. She was looking beautiful as always, with her usual black attire, and he couldn't help but smile and give a whistle. "Looking as wonderful as always love. Ready to go? This is gonna be fun." He took her hand, and out the door they strolled. He didn't know much about the surrounding area, so he didn't protest when Tomb took off in flight, carrying him with her. She flew him to a soft, sandy beach where the ocean serenely lapped at the shores, waves tirelessly climbing the bank, only to fall back into the deep waters of the sea. "Tomb, this spot is perfect, I love it! You really know how to treat a man." He said, joking with her, pretending to swoon at the beauty, and fell back into her laughing.

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments He grunted when he hit the ground, complaining that she coulda set him down, giving a pouty face to her. When she clicked on the music, chase tilted his head to listen. "Green Day? Respect, respect. They are one of the few more modern bands that I like." Commented chase as he took in the surrounding beauty of the island. The ocean was sparkling and the surrounding forest was green and lush. The beach separating the forest and ocean was about 50 yards long, with fine, velvety sand. When Tomb started pulling some food out, chase bent to help her and sorted the food from the basket, looking at what she had grabbed. There were sandwiches and he even saw some fish and chips there too. "Awww tomb you remembered! I'm so lucky!" He said, wrapping tomb in a hug and pulling her down to the blanket laughing.

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments Chase enjoyed the fish and chips. It was true it was basically the only thing he ordered from mars, but he couldn't help it! It was his favorite food and mars make a killer cape cod style dish. Chase was about to say something to Tomb when he noticed she was eating straight lemons with a little bit of sugar. He almost choked on his food as he laughed. "Oh my god you have got to be kidding me! Of course you would eat lemons without even puckering! Hahaha, of all the things I've ever seen tomb, that one is the one thing that just should surprise me least but yet it still does." He said, smiling at her. She slugged him in the arm and continued eating them. Chase cringed every time she did, puckering his lips at the thought of the sourness. Tomb didn't even flinch, acting like she were eating an orange.

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments Chase watched tomb go, and then redirected his attention to the sky, where fluffy clouds were accumulated and forming funny shapes. When Tomb got back, chase smiled, and replied, "oh, until we decide to go back. We've got the rest of the day off." He said, draping an arm on her shoulder as boulevard of broken dreams played on the radio. Chase finished his food, and got up, offering a hand to tomb. "Hey, wanna go walk on the beach? We can go swim a little too." He said, helping her up, but almost letting her fall backwards, laughing at her expression. She just scowled and called him a peanut. Wait, what? That's weird, Tomb usually said walnut. Maybe she just slipped, eh well, he thought, walking off down the beach, splashing in the water a little.

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments As chase stepped into the water, he felt the coolness of the ocean run through him. He turned back towards Tomb who had shrugged off her leather jacket, but what he saw made him freeze. The girl standing in front of him was not tomb. As his eyes had don the routine glance over her, he noticed something on her upper arm that was not covered by sleeve or glove. A faint scar that seemed to have healed long ago that looked like a claw mark. He was 100% sure Tomb did not have a scar there. That meant the girls standing in front o him was sailor. How she looked so well, he didn't know. Dante probably healed them somehow, hoping they would not die so he could collect their powers, but apparently he did not take away all the scarring. He smiled at sailor though, not wanting to give away his knowledge, but really he was worrying about the actual tomb. He stepped over towards her and gave her a hug from behind, but before he let go, he put her in a headlock, turned metal while drawing his knife, and took her to the ground, pinning her on her stomach. "Where is Tomb? try anything and I will slit your throat before I go down I swear." He growled.

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments Chase hesitated, could he be wrong? "What? No- you-, how can you be! I don't believe it!" He yelled to the girl. Chase glared at the person across from him, it was either Tomb or sailor, and he didn't know which one. He was sure that Tomb didn't have that faint scar. I mean, she didn't, right? He thought. What is one thing he could ask her to make her prove that she was Tomb. It had to be something only tomb would know? "When you sang your favorite song with me last night, what song did you sing and who was it by?" He said shakily, wondering if he had just pulled a knife on his girlfriend. Because if he had, tomb would absolutely kill him and be furious once he calmed down. But he almost wished it were Tomb, because if he was right, that means Tomb was out there somewhere, probably in the hands of the rivals.

message 193: by Mac (new)

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments She had answered correctly. Chase was as confused as ever he knew she didn't have that scar. Could his mind be playing tricks on him. He let tomb, or sailor, or whoever grab his knife and throw it behind her. He still had the flat disc of iodized steel, touching the bottom of his foot, covered by his sock and shoe, meaning he no longer needed his steel bearing, so at least he had that. She took a few steps toward him and he took one back, hesitating. Whoever it was in front of him obviously either knew Tomb well, or it was Tomb herself. He felt like he was going crazy. He fell to his knees in the sand. Maybe he was wrong, maybe it was Tomb and he'd just assaulted his girlfriend. He spoke softly, using this as his last piece of evidence that the girl in front of him wasn't tomb, "You called me peanut."

message 194: by Mac (new)

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments There was no way anyone but tomb could know that. He nodded meekly and just sat there, being held by tomb. He was so very lost. How could he have pulled a knife and threatened tomb like that? He was losing his mind and it was only a matter of time. "Tomb- I- I'm so sorry, please forgive me love. I don't know what's gotten into me. I just, I thought for sure- where did that scar come from? I've never seen it before, and when I saw it, I thought you were sailor. Oh god, I'm so sorry tomb. Please forgive me tomb." He said, on the verge of tears. He must be really going crazy. Tomb just stayed silent and held him, telling him it was ok. He just sat there, on his knees, looking at her. He supposed sailor would have killed him, not comforted him. He just sat there, dazed and confused.

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments Chase steadied himself. He really just wanted to go home and maybe nap. He was tired and he was worried. Worried that he had scared tomb off. He just attacked her and she still was comforting him. This had to be tomb. "Tomb, I... I think I should go home, I definitely need some sleep or a nap or something. Maybe we could go home and watch a movie? I just, maybe I need to relax more. I can't believe I attacked you." He said, distrusting his own sanity. He got up, fetched his knife, and sheathed it. He proceeded to pack up their picnic, shoving everything in the duffle that they had arrived with. Last was the boom box and CD's. once he had everything, he turned to tomb and said, "alright, uh let's get out of here, I feel like a mad man." He said, walking over to her.

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments Chase was gonna ask why they didn't fly, but seeing as he poorly packed stuff, and he didn't fit everything, it was easier to walk. When they got back, he flopped on the couch, and stared at the ceiling. He did kind of feel like his mind was numb, and working hard everyday had kinda fried him. He sat up and watched tomb closely, looking for any deviations from what tomb would do, but saw nothing. This had to be his girlfriend. He sighed laying back down, fixing his eyes on the ceiling. A bit later tomb came over and sat beside him, taking his hand. "Wanna watch a movie tomb?" He asked half heartedly, wanting to just forget about the date he'd just ruined.

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments Chase sighed and sat up. He went and opened a drawer beneath the tv, and flipped through the movies. He went through them and saw one that caught his eye. It was a war movie about a soldier in WWII who was evacuated from France, but his love was left in France. When he participated on the D-Day invasion of Normandy, he broke away from his unit to fight his way across the French countryside against German units, to get back to his love. He'd seen it once before and had thought it was amazing. "Here, tomb, how about this one? It's really good." He replied, putting it in the DVD player. He went back to the couch and sat down next to tomb, putting his arms around

message 198: by Mac (new)

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments Tomb laid down, her head In chases lap, watching the movie. It was really good, but the end was sad. The soldier ended up in a house five miles inland from the Normandy beach with his wife. He had found her and just had to get her out, but a German unit had seen him and had him surrounded. The movie did a really good job making someone start to feel for the soldier. So when he busted out of the house, gunning down enemy soldiers, you wanted him to win. And when he killed the last enemy soldier, taking a bullet to his shoulder in the process, you felt happy for him. But when he walks into the house, he finds his true love, hanging from the ceiling. She'd killed herself deciding there was no way her husband had survived the hailstorm of bullets that had ensued once he left. It ends by showing the soldier growing old alone, grieving for his wife. Chase watched it, knowing this already but tomb seemed to have a storm of emotions play out on her face at the end.

message 199: by Mac (new)

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments Tomb seemed to curl up closer to him after the movie. He could tell that the ending had hit her hard. Maybe it was because of her sisters power, making her think of all the people's lives sailor had cut short. It couldn't be easy for tomb having a sister like that. He held her close and said to her, "hey, it's alright. It's gonna be ok." He replied, hoping to comfort her. Then he remembered his uncle and decided to share for some reason. He felt like he wanted to tell someone, so why not tomb? "Ya know, I had an uncle that killed himself. He was clinically depressed and had just lost his job. He slit his wrists, leaving just a note. His wife and children were devastated, and to this day they still mourn him. Killing yourself isn't only cruel to yourself, but it's even worse to do to the ones you love." He said sorrowfully, remembering his nephew and aunt.

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments Tomb cried in his lap, and he felt kind of bad, but it was nice to get it off his chest. He held her as she cried and didn't say anything. He knew she didn't want to hear anything, she just needed to cry. He wiped the tears out of her face and gave her a kiss on the forehead. He picked her up, and held her while he walked her to the comfort of her bedroom, laying her down on the bed and pulling the covers over her. He stayed with her a little bit, comforting her until she stopped crying, and then just holding her. "I'm going to go to bed, and get some sleep. I'm taking tomorrow off like you suggested. I figure I need some more sleep and some time to relax. Again, I'm sorry about attacking you earlier. Goodnight beautiful." He said kissing her cheek and then getting up to leave.
