Chase had been waiting in front of the tv for an hour and he was starting to wonder how Dice was doing. Who was he? Where was he from? He so badly wanted to be there, helping out Tomb, finding out more about this new kid, but rain needed to sleep a few hours and once that was done, he had to go teach hand to hand. Great. He would just have to ask Tomb tonight when she got back from archery about the boy. He sat on the couch watching the office when rain finally padded out of the room she had used. It had been three hours and it was almost time for him to start his lesson in the arena. Rain was as happy as could be and there was no hint of any anger at all left in her. She was hungry so he walked her to the dining hall before headed off to the arena.

Grinning and returned to flesh, turning his back on her and walking over to tomb, who looked amused with the whole thing.

Once back at camp, chase still had two hours of patrol to do before he could call it a day. He really didn't want to but he was already tired and didn't want to go back to patrol, but he figured he'd better go out and keep guard to be sure that no other rivals showed up. "Tomb, I have to finish my border patrol, I'll be back as soon as possible, and idk, mars can make the food, ill be late."chase told her as he adjusted his sheath and shook his head, clearing the haze caused by the residual chloroform in his nose. He kissed her and started off towards the north woods, hoping the rest of the night would be quiet.

When he walked in the door, he couldn't see tomb, but he figured she was in her room or in the bathroom, but there was no way she was sleeping. Chase grabbed a dusty boom box he'd found in a closet and a couple of cds that he'd found next to it. One was titled rock and rolls greatest hits, so he shoved the cd in the slot and turned up the volume. A clear voice came on with a solo drum beat at the beginning saying, "mister rock it." At which point a guitar blared to life and the voice replied with, "thank you." Chase really liked it, and joined in singing at the chorus, "iiiiii, wanna rock and roll all niiiite, and want it every day, oh I." And then let poisons lead singer take the rest. He was actually a decent singer, especially when it came to rock and roll. The best part was when the guitar solo played, and he totally rocked the air guitar. He was having fun.

She was the best damn woman I had ever seen, She had the sightless eyes,
Telling me no lies, Knockin' me out with those American thighs." He loved this song and smiled to himself when he saw tomb bobbing her head to the music. He finished the song and went to Tomb, about to say something when it happened. The boom bow, which had a six disc capacity went from the end of the AC/DC to another one. The song that played hit chase hard. Real hard. He had been kneeling next to tomb but he sat down hard when the lyrics came through, soft and melodic. "Starry starry night, paint your palette blue and grey, look out on a summers day, with eyes that know the darkness in my soul." It was the song that his sister had insisted he teach her for her school talent show. "Starry starry night" was the name and it was by Don Mclean. He'd thought it was kinda dark, but he had to admit, the bittersweet lyrics and the soft flowing melody was so pretty. He had spent months with his sister, teaching her the nuances of the song and how to sing it. At the talent show, she won, and even received a standing ovation. It was his favorite memory of her. Chase swallowed hard and leaned against Tomb heavily as he listened to the song. But he smiled, because it was a good memory. By the end, he poked tomb and asked, "please sing one with me?"
