Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments Chase couldn't believe his luck! She had a crush on mars! Oh this was pure gold! But he decided not to press her on it anymore for fear off making her angry. "What did I think? Well at first I was kinda scared, because I couldn't turn back. I finally managed to control it and after a while accepted who it was. I realized I had them when I was 3, and it was a little traumatizing at first. But as I got older, I started to think it was pretty cool, and now I just view it as an advantage. So yeah." He replied truthfully. He reached out and took the feather next. He felt himself turn, and all of a sudden, multiple winds were competing for his attention, syringe to take him away. He instantly turned back to flesh and bone, hating the feeling of being so light.

"Alright, alright, my turn. Hmmmm, what is the happiest you've aver been, and for a dare... I dare you to sing your favorite song!" He said, finally thinking of something to dare her with.

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments "What? You don't like music? How could you not! Ooooo, when we get back, I'm forcing you to listen to some tunes. Haha, I'll call them tomb's tunes." He said grinning. "Man, eight years is a long time to not be happy. I'm gonna help you with that." He said, giving her a mischievous grin. He thought on his truth. "Hmmmmm, nah, this is all pretty cool, and I get to meet people that are like me. I'm also sitting at the top of a tree playing sleepover games with one of the scariest girls in the world, so, nah, wouldn't miss it for the world." He replied, flashing her a grin. For his dare, he turned to rubber, and nimbly hopped onto the branch, then hopped back, using his elasticity to aid him.

"Alright, for you, what is the most annoying thing about me, and for a dare, I dare you to turn into a slug." He said holding back a laugh.

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments ((Honestly the ending is the worst part. It just drops off! SO FRUSTRATING!))

message 55: by Mac (new)

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments He squirmed uncomfortably as she landed on him as a slug, but he still laughed because he was having fun with tomb, which is something he'd never thought he'd say, and for a second, he thought he could feel Tomb letting herself have a little fun. But she quickly plucked him off the tree, and they were flying towards the camp. He'd gotten her to have a little fun. It wasn't much, but it was a start. As they flew towards camp, he had a little time to think. One thing which was hard not to notice and kept coming up in his mind, was how close he was to Tomb, but he quickly pushed the thoughts aside whenever they came up. "Hey tomb, I'm bringing music on our next flight so I've got something to listen to, unless of course you decide to start singing." He said chuckling.

message 56: by Mac (new)

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments Chase blew some hair out of his face. "Hey, not cool! This is the worst airline service ever. Not even salted peanuts and a coke!" He joked with her after landing on her back. "Hey tomb, anyone ever tell you that you have a cruel sense of humor?" He asked jokingly, looking out over where they were flying. Then he got an idea. "Hey tomb, let's do a sing along! Here, I'll start ok? One two, one two three!" and he launched into a round of on the road agin. "On the road again! Just can't wait to get on the road again! The life I love is making music with my friends!" And he trailed off, waiting for Tomb to finish the verse, smiling wickedly.

message 57: by Mac (new)

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments As soon as Chase heard the news he was furious. "What! What do you mean rain is gone? Did anyone try and stop her? How do you let a 3 year old disappear!" That sweet little girl was now in serious danger and someone had let their guard down for that to happen. As soon as Tomb was within 50 yards of the ground, he hopped off, turning metal by gripping his ball bearing and making a small crater when landing. Then he ran to the nearest camper and demanded to know what was going on. No one really knew who he was, as he was the new camper, but his expression seemed to get them to tell him without any questions. From what he heard, no one had seen rain for a couple days, and no one knew what happened. Except for him and Tomb. The rivals had her.

message 58: by Mac (new)

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments Chase hustled up to mars after Tomb flew off. "Yeah, welcome to the club." He told mars as he stood next to the boy who was keeling over. "Just let her blow off some steam for a bit, cmon, I'll explain what happened once we're at the mess hall." He told mars, helping him up. They walked through the camp of sullen campers, who were all avoiding eye contact with the angry new arrivals. "She's got a funny way of showing her affection." Commented chase as they walked to the mess hall, remembering what Tomb had said about mars, but he made no other comments in the subject. Instead, he told mars what happened and what they'd witnessed. At that moment, tomb flew in from wherever she'd been, and she was furious. She over to hit mars again, but a rubber chase stepped in between and absorbed the punch instead.

message 59: by Mac (new)

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments Chase absorbed all her punches until she was finally finished letting out her aggression. She was really, really angry and chase almost cringed when mars started rubbing her shoulders. He thought he might have to take another volley of punches for him, but she managed to restrain herself. "Ok, ummm, I'm gonna go throw some more supplies in my bag, and then I'll be ready to go. Sound good?" He asked, before hurrying off to go grab his supplies. By the time he got back, tomb was looking defeated, and mars was nearby, looking sad as well. Couldn't blame them, a 3 year old child was missing and maybe even dead. "Uuuuuhhhh, ready?" He asked, unsure of the situation.

message 60: by Mac (new)

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments Chase stared at mars in wonderment. "Dude, you got a death wish." He said with a laugh, and then he followed Tomb out of the mess hall. "So is there any particular rhythm we're going to or are we just gonna wing it?" But without answering him, she just grabbed him and flew off. He didn't wanna be dropped, so he just shut up for the flight. After a while into it, he started humming to himself the song he'd tried to get Tomb to sing earlier. It seemed to fit well as they were, on the road once again. No music was being made though he thought in a state of boredom.

message 61: by Mac (new)

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments Chase was looking around and then all of a sudden, he was almost flattened against a tree. "Hey! Watch it Tomb!" He yelled, as she yanked him out of the way at the last minute. She abruptly landed and apologized. "Hey, you need some sleep Tomb. Cmon, let's go find a spot to go lay down. I'm sure rain will be find, and what good would it do rain if a tired, exhausted Tomb got captured while trying to bust her out? Cmon, let's find a spot to sleep." He told her, dragging her towards a shallow cave in the side of a rock ledge.

message 62: by Mac (new)

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments ((Like boots!))

As tomb drifted off to sleep, chase sat, assuming his position underneath a nearby tree, taking on the form of wood. He sat for a long time, waiting for tomb to get a solid rest. Morning turned to evening, and when dusk finally came, tomb stirred from her slumber. Chase watched with interest, wondering if she'd see him. She sat up confused, looking around. Her gaze slid over him, and she was about to get up when he spoke from his sitting position saying, "good evening sleepyhead, you were pretty tired." She jumped, glaring at him as he got up changing back to normal. Finally, she shifted from her cat form back to human, still death staring him.

message 63: by Mac (new)

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments When they left, he took out the feather he'd given her earlier and took on its qualities. Immediately he was blown off her back. Shit, he hadn't meant for that to happen, but now he was being blown through the air, too high up to fall safely. He wasn't even sure she'd felt him come off her back as he had told her he was going to try and go lighter. He didn't dare scream for fear he'd draw the attention of some patrolling rivals. He must've floated for 5 mins before finally getting low enough to land as rubber, and so he did. He didn't know where tomb was, and he had no idea where he was on the island. He instantly turned to wood, grabbing a piece of bark off a tree. He sat, and waited, figuring maybe tomb would come by in a bit. He hoped anyways. For now he kept his dagger close and sat motionless, another root on a tree.

message 64: by Mac (new)

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments When tomb tackled him, he couldn't help but feel relieved. "Haha, hey tomb, am I glad to see you! Yeah yeah, I know, I'm an idiot, I was just trying to go lighter for you, but I just was blown off your back. Oh, don't look at me like that, he yes, I'm sorry." He said as tomb nudged his ears as a wolf then gave him one of those looks she often gave him. She turned back to human, and was laughing as she turned. "Ah gimme a break, I was trying to make your life easier!" He complained, pushing her off of him, sitting up from being tackled.

message 65: by Mac (new)

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments Now he was riding a lioness into battle, interesting. She was quick, and it worked well, but she was still going to tire. This time, he leaned forward, held tight and tried with his feather again. This time he held on, and immediately, tombs movements became sharper and quicker. They went on like this for a while until she stopped. He immediately hopped off. "Can't you shift int something a little more comfortable to ride? Like a camel or a gryphon? Maybe an elephant?" He teased, stretching and grinning at her as she shot him a glare.

message 66: by Mac (new)

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments He saw the strikes coming as soon as he had been sarcastic with her. After taking the two hits, turning metal so she wouldn't poke him with the spear, he walked along with her and said, "ya know, I think there are better ways of dealing with aggression, rather than hitting someone." He said ducking out of the way of another punch. "You could try talking it out." This time dodging a swing from her spear. "Maybe just hitting a pillow instead of a person." This time receiving a shot to his groin, but turning rubber to absorb it. "Hugs are always good problem solvers." And at this, she whirled on him as he dodged a series of swings, absorbing a few as rubber, and then staying that way, in case she decided to attack him again.

message 67: by Mac (new)

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments For a second he had thought she might attack him, but instead she just turned and told him he needed sleep. He just shrugged and followed her down the path. She walked a little bit, then pointed to a spot and told him to sleep. He grabbed his ball bearing one hand, but also grabbed his dagger turning to steel, that way if someone took his beating, he'd still be steel. Plus he wasnt entirely convinced that tomb wouldn't try to slit his throat. And with that, he went to sleep.

message 68: by Mac (new)

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments Chase opened his eyes and sat up, looking around. He saw tomb against a tree, half conscious half dozed off. "Oi, I don't fancy having my throat slit in my sleep." He said, as her eyes flew all the way open as opposed to half open like they were before. "So, cap'n, what's on the agenda today? Fly me into a tree? Hit me out of frustration some more? Maybe frolic in deadly black smoke?" He said with a grin, bracing himself for a punch to the face, more likely though, the groin. It seemed to be her favorite spot.

message 69: by Mac (new)

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments "Me keep up with you? Psshhhh, easy peasy. You forget, I ran track and cross country. I'll keep up just fine. So what are we doing?" He asked, wondering what the plan was. He really wanted to find rain quick and try and get her home safe. He wondered what she'd endured so far, being held captive by the rivals.

message 70: by Mac (new)

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments "Didn't know you were into handcuffs, kinda kinky." He said dodging a swing. "Alright, alright, but for real, just cuff me in something metal ok? Give me an advantage at least. I hate to walk in without my dagger, but I can get by in hand to hand." He said earnestly. This plan made him kinda nervous because it involved him in restraints and then putting himself in front of the enemy. He didn't like it, but if it save rain, it was worth it.

message 71: by Mac (new)

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments "Would you like to drag me in unconscious? Because I can act pretty well." He said. "Of course, you could just tape a bearing to my chest or thigh and tie me up with rope so it looks like I've got nothing to change into." He supplied hoping whatever he was tied in he could break it. She seemed to contemplate what what to do.

message 72: by Mac (new)

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments Chase followed her, turning himself to wood by grabbing a piece of bark from the tree. He snuck along with her, walking carefully behind tomb, watching her every movement, waiting for a signal to dive for cover. Eventually, they reached a camp. It wasn't nearly as nice as the one where we lived, but it was doable, with some ramshackle huts and a clearing. It honestly didn't look like much.

message 73: by Mac (new)

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments Chase knew they were gonna have to use him as a prisoner, and he stepped in front of her with his hand behind his back. "Ok, whatever happens out there, get rain out. If it comes down to a choice between one of us and rain, we gotta get rain. Ok? Promise?" He looked at her, a solemn look on his face. It had to be that way, they had to save rain. No matter what. He was prepared to do whatever it took. "Are you ready?" He asked?

message 74: by Mac (new)

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments The swipe hurt, but he knew why she did it so he just grimaced. She pushed him forward into the camp and all heads turned their way. The demon he had wrestled with came forward and said, "sailor! Nice catch! I'd like some quality alone time with this one." Swiping a claw across his chest, opening up a large gash. He gasped in pain. Oh man that was deep. He pretended to thrash around for a second but gave it up when the demon punched him in the face. God damn, he didn't know how much longer he would put up with this.

message 76: by Mac (new)

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments Chase was glad he wasn't going to get torn to shreds anymore, but this captain guy was interesting. He had jet black hair and it was as if evil just radiated from his eyes. Chase just glared at him, partly because that's what he expected to do, but also because he actually just generally did not like him. He just looked like someone who would be a mass murderer. Shifty eyes, mopey features, hint of craze in their face. Captain walked up to him and snapped his fingers. Immediately he felt pain course through him with a vendetta. Every part of his body felt like it was burning. This guy could cause instant pain. Chase fell too his knees, grimacing too hard to say anything. Captain snapped again and the pain left. Chase fell over panting and received a kick for doing so. "Another stitch huh? Well this one looks more useless then the kid." He sneered at chase.

message 77: by Mac (new)

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments Tomb picked him up and shoved him toward wherever rains voice was coming from. His shirt was soaked in blood fro the gash the demon had given him, he was spitting blood out of his mouth, but he wasn't sure where that was coming from, and his whole body tingled painfully from whatever captain had done to him. He'd been better. Yet when he rounded the corner where rain was, he couldn't help but smile at her. But when she saw him, her eyes went wide, "OW! You need bandad. You beeding.doctor for you." He responded with a weak croak saying, "that would be nice. How are ya rain?" She looked ok, but the bars of her cell were like chicken wire, with gaps not even a humming bird could get through.

message 78: by Mac (new)

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments He was left in front of the prison with a dagger and some ingenuity. "Rain, once I finish cutting a small hole in this chicken wire, I need you to fly back to camp. Fly home ok? As fast as you can, like a race! Ok?" Tomb seemed delighted to have a race. He set to work on the chicken wire and in no time, he had a little hole big enough for rain to fly through. She landed on his shoulder and he said, "ready? Set? Go!" And she took off like a speeding bullet in the direction of camp. He really hoped she'd make it alright. Next he turned his attention to helping rain. He snuck around the outskirts of the village. He wasn't sure what good he'd be in a fight, but he had to try and help.

message 79: by Mac (new)

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments Chase was pulling himself along the edge of the woods, sliding the camp when the commotion happened. Orbs in hand, dagger in the other. He was stalking forward and had caught sight of tomb, surrounded by black mist, and something sticking in her arm. That's when he got tackled. Demon boy was back. He saw the punch coming and turned metal, fracturing the demons wrist. He lunged forward with a slash and mad a deep cut across his chest. He dodged a flash of claws and jumped onto the demon, plunging his blade into his chest. The thing went still.

He turned back to see what was happening with tomb and it was not god. He was 50 yards away when he saw the whole camp surround tomb. Shit. He grabbed a rock with his dagger, and ran to help tomb. He was within throwing range and threw the rock. It nailed captain in the back of the head and he went down like a sack of flour. But just then sailor summoned the black smoke. Tomb yelled out as she ripped the thing from her arm. He knew what was coming. He threw his knife. End over end it tumbled, until it found a spot in the lower left side of sailor. She doubled over and fell to her knees. He doubted it would kill her, which was too bad really, but it had to hurt. But chase was out of tricks. He'd diverted the enemies attention and they were bearing down on him. He had lost his orbs when he'd been tackled and he'd thrown his dagger. He hoped tomb was safe, because as the first claw ripped through his shirt, she was in the front of his mind.

message 80: by Mac (new)

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments Chase was vaguely aware of being lifted off the ground by what he thought might be a full grown African elephant but then again, he could just be hallucinating on the brink of death. Then he was moving fast. Real fast. Branches grabbing at him, leaves brushing him. Then he was set down, and he felt a wet nose nudge him and a paw prod him. After a second, he opened his eyes. Oh man, his chest was a mess of claw swipes. He couldn't count how many, and he wasn't sure he wanted to know. But he didn't focus o that. There was Tomb, as a wolf, looking at him.

"Tomb, come here, I thought of something" he managed. She stepped closer and listened. "Tomb, I thought of a song I want you to listen to when we get back. It's a classic, and it might be one you like. It goes like, bye bye miss American pie, drove my chevy to the levy but the levy was dry, them good old boys were drinking whisky and Rye, singing this will be the day that I die. He sputtered out the verses. "Tomb, it doesn't look good. If... if I don't make it, tell my family... tell em that I'm sorry. And Tomb, one last thing, I think you're pretty cool. When I first saw you, I thought you were something special. I was right. Thank you Tomb." He croaked. That was all he could manage, and he closed his exes, trying to recall the faces of his loved ones.

message 81: by Mac (new)

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments ((I thought you might! OMG BE SAFE! TRY NOT TO DIE! CLASSIC BOOTS TOO!))

Chase had heard the oddest thing in the middle of his black out. Now, he'd never tell Tomb, but he thought he'd heard her singing. His mind was too fuzzy to make out any words, but it was like a distant voice, clear and clean, gently singing. It was nice. He knew he was bleeding out, he could feel his energy draining from him, could feel the life leaving his limbs. Then all of a sudden, there were a lot of hands and a lot of pain as all those hands kept touching his chest. But he just closed his eyes, and drifted off, maybe for the last time he thought fuzzily.

When he woke it was dark. His mouth was dry and his chest felt like, well, like he'd been clawed to ribbons. He tried sitting up but pain immediately stopped him from moving any further. He managed to get a look at his chest though. It wasn't pretty. It looked like a cats scratching post, claw marks all over him. He looked away. So he'd made it. He'd done it. He started crying. He wasn't quite sure why, but he felt hot tears slide down his face. Everything overwhelming him at once. And so he cried.

message 82: by Mac (new)

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments Chase didn't even car that Tomb had watched him cry. He just did, and when he finished, she was still there, wiping away his tears. He was grateful for the company, especially tombs. She'd saved his ass, and he would never ever be able to repay her for that. "Tomb" he said, barely audible, "thanks for getting me outta there. I, uh, I thought I was dead. I threw that knife and I expected to die. Thank you. You saved me. Ill never be able to say thank you enough times." Breaking into a cough on his last words. Man, he really was in terrible shape. He felt as if he'd been put through a shredder. "Tomb, what happened after your sister took that knife to the side? Did rain make it?" He asked, anxious to know if the lovable little girl was ok.

message 83: by Mac (new)

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments ((Haha, I feel. And it's good to be not dead.))

message 84: by Mac (new)

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments He allowed her to feed him, mostly because he was to weak to use his own arms. The soup was good, and he ate all of it. He sat back when he finished, and felt the metal frame of the bed. He changed to metal for a moment, then back. At least that still worked. "Two days huh? And how have you survived two days without me constantly smarting off over your shoulder? Luck I suspect. Man that battle plan we had unfolded a little differently then I had hoped. My plan didn't involve a near death experience at least, I thought it didn't. Are we getting any more trouble from those evil ass hats that thought it would be a good idea to aggravate us?" He asked, hoping that maybe they had put a temporary stop to the rivals for now.

message 85: by Mac (new)

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments Chase sat there, thinking about the past few days, wondering how he'd ended up here like this. But if rain was ok, it was so very worth it. He gave a long look at tomb and could tell that she was tired and sad. The last two days had somehow worn her out more than the journey they had just been on. He saw his bag in the corner, and weakly asked for Tomb to grab it. She did and when he asked her to pull out his phone, she did. He opened his phone and went to music. He tapped play, and the song started.

A long long time ago...

He looked at Tomb and saw a faint smile. "I told you I was gonna make you listen to it." He said in his weak voice, giving her a grin. "Care to sing?" He added again, just for old times sake. At this she smiled even more, shaking her head and grinning at his joke.

message 86: by Mac (new)

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments Tomb stayed with him the rest of the night. He laid awake for a while, but finally went to bed in the hospital. When he woke up the next morning, tomb was still there, head resting on the hospital bed. When the day got started, he ate breakfast, feeling much better than he had when he first woke, but still very weak. His chest was extremely carved up and he still had that weird tingling sensation from whatever captain did to him. He was just finishing breakfast when rain came in, giggling and holding a couple candy bars. "Rain! How are you doing? Are they feeding you enough candy?" He asked playfully as the 3 year old looked him up and down, assessing his situation.

message 87: by Mac (new)

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments He talked to rain, asking about her candy bar shortage, laughing when she pouted about it. "Rain, how are the other campers? Is everyone ok?" He asked, wondering how she was taking all this. "No no. Bad campers leave. We no like campers leave." She said, shaking her head disapprovingly. What? Campers had left? How had that happened. He needed to talk to Tomb. He thought he'd seen her leaving with a doctor. "Rain, I'm gonna get Tomb." He said to her, sitting up painfully, but rain was already a humming bird in his face, forcing him back. She landed as herself and scolded him saying, "you no up! You no up!" He sighed, "fine rain, will you get tomb for me? Please?" Rain considered this and seemed to be ok with it as she walked out of the room eating another candy bar.

message 88: by Mac (new)

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments "To be honest I feel like crap. But that's not the reason i need you. Rain told me some campers left, and I wanna know how many. They looked strong before, but if they gained even more, I don't know what were gonna do. Tomb, we barely survived rescuing one of our campers, who's power is invulnerability no less, from that group of renegades." He said, worry evident in his eyes. He looked down at the mess of lines and stitched tissue he now called his chest and back to tomb. She looked down. Her expression told him she'd already spent countless nights up thinking about this. She looked pained, and he felt bad for saying everything he'd just said, knowing she had already gone over it all in her mind and he was just putting salt in the wound.

message 89: by Mac (new)

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments "Well, I guess I can't do anything about it now. And that is a yes please to the pain medicine, my chest feel like someone tried to hollow it out. Hey tomb, what happened after I blacked out on your back? Did I see you as an elephant? Because if not I saw some weird hallucinations. Butt if you did turn to an elephant, that also means you sang too! Haha, can you believe it? It took a near death experience from me to get a few notes out of you. That's what I call stubborn." He said. Tomb smiled at this and he saw a hint of embarrassment play out on her face.

message 90: by Mac (new)

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments And the next few days were just that. Hectic and busy, people rushing about training harder than ever, Nike was getting better at flying, rain learned a bunch of evasive maneuvers, and tomb learned some new moves with her shifting that she told chase about. As for chase, it was a big accomplishment when he made a whole lap around the hospital on his own, but he was getting better every second, feeling strength coming back to him faster and faster. Tomb had been extremely busy preparing and training everyone, so chase hadn't seen much of her. Today he was going to actually leave the hospital to the mess hall today instead of eating in bed.

As he left the hospital, shirt on top of his heavily stitched and bandaged chest, he saw the camp in full activity. The arena sounded busy with training and campers improving their powers, pushing themselves to the limit. He reached the mess hall and was greeted by mars who brought out a basket of fish and chips cape cod style, just how he liked it.

message 91: by Mac (new)

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments When Tomb came over he was a little surprised at how tired she looked. Her skin was paler than usual, which he hadn't thought possible, her eyes had violet bags under them, and she looked tired in general. Man, she must really be working hard, holy cow! As she sat down and greeted him, he noticed a tension about her too. She asked how he was doing and he shrugged, replying, "been better, but a few more days and I'll be good as new. I just have to wait for the cuts to close up and then I'll be good." He said, trying to sound optimistic.

"What's been happening? It looks like they've got you slaving away, when's the last time you slept?" He asked, as if he were to venture a guess, he'd say over a day ago.

message 92: by Mac (new)

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments Chase gave a chuckle. And over the next three days, he did as promised. Rested, took his medications, and kept up his health. He was finally feeling up to full strength and boy did it feel good. Before he'd been released from the hospital, he had stepped in front of a mirror to get a look at the scars that would be with him for the rest of his life. It wasn't pretty, that's for sure he thought. He walked out of the hospital and over to a shed, where he managed to find a metal ball bearing. Rain had given him a rubber bouncy ball, so he was all set, except for his dagger, which he had left in sailors side. Oops. He walked into the arena, looking for tomb. She looked better then when he last saw her, as if she'd actually gotten some sleep. "Hey tomb! Guess what? I'm back baby!" He called to her as he strode across the field to greet her.

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments "Sweet, so what can I do? I need a new dagger because I lost mine. Is there an armory around here? Oh please tell me there's an armory around here." He said with a grin, hoping to add a few new blades to his person. "But seriously, do you want me teaching? Training? Helping? I can give good lessons if you like." He assured her, wondering where he might end up. He was the new guy so he wasn't quite familiar with everyone and wasn't sure if he'd be trusted with a teaching role yet, then again, he'd gone off to save the whole camp first day he got here, so, that had to count for something he thought.

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments He shot her a dirty look for her joke, but was happy to do stuff. He'd actually shot a bow and arrow before, as he used to hunt, so he was happy he'd get to go help show how. He went and tracked down mars, and got directed to the armory. When he walked in, he gave a broad grin. There were rows of swords, spears, staffs, bows, arrows, pikes, and an array of knives on a center table. He was like a kid in a candy shop. A very dangerous candy shop. He walked to the table and inspected the knives there for offer. His old one had a Damascus steel blade and an iron studded grip, which he had loved, and he would always miss. But he saw some nice candidates. A carbon steel blade caught his eye, with a leaf blade and studded grip. It was a beautiful design, and he liked it a lot. After grabbing his new dagger and strapping it to his leg, he grabbed a quiver of arrows and a bow to go help with archery

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments At archery chase was helping a few campers with shooting. After getting bored shooting live targets, her turned to steel and ran and dodged as campers shot arrows at him. By the end he couldn't move two feet without getting pegged in the chest by an arrow. When he was finished, he swung by the hospital but wasn't needed so he went to go find tomb again. She was in the arena talking to victory, who was complaining about an ache in her wings, probably from all the training. Victory was allowed to leave and tomb went around picking up knives that were stuck in various targets around the arena. "Alana was here throwing knives? It looks like it. How was your day Tomb? One day back, and I'm already getting arrows shot at me." He said, going on to explain how target practice went.

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments Chase smiled at being invited to patrol the perimeter with her, and accepted. "Yes, I'd love to come help walk the perimeter. How are ya doing Tomb? I never really thought about it, but I'm sorry for putting a knife in your sister, I guess you don't like her, but you're still family so I thought I'd apologize anyways." He said, figuring it had to be said. At one point Tomb had probably loved her sister. He pulled out his new dagger after receiving a nod and showed off his newest acquirement. He was quite fond of it and said, "whaddya think? Maybe I'll manage not to lose this one." Giving Tomb a slight smile.

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments Tomb led the way out of the arena and towards the perimeter. He had never done perimeter duty before, so he let Tomb take the lead, and he followed. It was a peaceful walk so far as they picked their way through the forest, walking quietly. "Hey tomb, you know how they say your life flashes before your eyes right before you almost die? Well, I can attest to that being the truth, but not in the way you'd think. You see, I saw what made up my life, not moments in my life. I saw my sisters, my old friends, my mom, my dad, I even saw rain. And I saw you too. It was weird, it was like I was seeing all you guys and saying good bye one last time. I saw everything that made my life what it is. My friends, for the life I left behind, my parents and for the life I'll always have, my sister, rain for what I'm living for now, and you, for the interesting parts of my life. Haha, that is funny, never before you has my life been interesting, but I guess you made it so." Chase said chuckling.

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments He could tell she didn't quite know how to respond to him, but before he could say anything, she shifted into a cat and bounded up a tree. He immediately saw why and turned wooden, snatching bark from a nearby tree. They were at the outskirts and he could make out two rivals laying in wait, binoculars looking at the camp. There was two of them, sitting there waiting for something, but what? He snuck closer, using his natural camouflage, until he was ten yards away. He saw a cat that must've been Tomb on a branch above him. When she glanced at him, he motioned to the one on the right, indicating that he would take him. Tomb nodded back. He held up his hand, slowly drawing his dagger. When he was ready, he quietly turned to metal, and they both attacked, tomb as a jaguar, chase as a steel carapace. He landed on his guy with an elbow, probably crushing his ribs with it, then had him in a chicken wing with his knife at his throat, he looked up and tomb had her jaws around the guys throat, ready to end his life. "That went well." he said to tomb, still metal.

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments Alana ran to chase as he sat up and offered a smile. He looked over at Tomb who had dislocated her arm to escape, but was now in the painful process of popping it back in. A bit extreme he though. "Alana, I could kiss you right now. Never ever have I seen more perfect timing." He said as she helped him out of the bonds. Chase looked down at his chest, and none of the cuts had reopened, so that was good. He picked up his two orbs that had flown out of his hand when he fell, but he'd managed to keep hold of his dagger. "So, tomb, you know these guys? They were obviously up to no good, so what do you think they were doing?" He asked, not knowing who they were or why they were here.

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments Now that he came to think about it, why had Alana followed them? He hadn't known she'd been following him, and she'd done a good job concealing herself, but why was she? This was suspicious to chase, and he could tell Tomb didn't like it much either, but maybe it was lucky, because she definitely saved our asses. "Well, I guess we ought to thank you, but uh, maybe try not to follow people, because it isn't necessarily social construct to stalk after others. Anyway, nice work with those knives, you're getting pretty good, might even start to give me a little trouble." He said to her jokingly. She just rolled her eyes and snorted. Tomb didn't really look happy with Alana at all, but he didn't necessarily know why. Maybe it was the part where she'd dislocated her arms for nothing, who knew? "You alright tomb? That blast sure knocked the wind outta me." He admitted.
