Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments Chase had followed Tomb out and when he saw sailor he got a weight in his gut. He felt partly responsible as he'd gotten captain fretted worked up earlier and made him angry at sailor. He stayed back keeping his head down letting Tomb talk to her because he was almost positive that if he tried approaching sailor she would rip his head off. He couldn't hear what was being said and figured it was some personal stuff. He glanced over at the house he knew sailor and captain shared and saw a light on with a silhouette pacing back and forth. At least he knew where captain was. He turned his attention back to the sisters and it looked as if there was some kind of heated debate going on between the two.

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments Chase hated seeing Tomb and sailor arguing because it always left Tomb pained and sailor angry. When he watched sailor storm off and argue with captain, he walked over to tomb. They both watched as sailor argued with captain but then somehow ended with captain hugging her. He hated captain so much for being such a prick. There were a lot of things his parents had taught him and one of them was how to treat someone. Captain could use a yearlong class on that lesson because he'd obviously missed it. It made chase really angry, but what could he do? "Cmon, lets go back to everyone, try to have some fun at least." He muttered. After watching that, he could definitely use some help picking his spirits up.

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments ((Nice joker reference!))

Chase listened to her and sighed as they re entered the mess hall, but the atmosphere just wasn't the same. Chase tried to have some fun, talk to people, enjoy himself, but his heart just wasn't in it. They went through the rest of the gathering only half participating. When it was over, tomb and chase headed back to their house they shared. When they got in he saw tombs shoulders droop and her head hang. She had been holding it together for all those people at the gathering, but away from all of that he could see the pain, the conflict that was getting at her. He felt bad that he hadn't seen it earlier. He walked up behind her and gave her a light hug, not wanting to make her feel constricted.

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments Chase smiled as he looked at Alana and Neus through the window. So he'd been right after all. Sadly his smile didn't last for long as he turned his attention back to the heartbroken tomb in front of him. When she told him she was tired, he swept her off of her feet and carried her into his bedroom and laid her on the bed, hoping to maybe tease a smile out of her at the shenanigans. No such luck though. "I'll be back in a second, I'm going to grab a cup of hot chocolate." He said. He went into the kitchen and made it, glancing out the window occasionally at the camp. He drank it quickly and then climbed into bed next to tomb. She snuggled up to him and he accepted her with open arms and a kiss on the cheek.

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments Chase returned shadows I love you and then waited as she fell asleep. He heard her breathing steady and listened to it, letting it lull him to sleep. He woke to a yelp from tomb and he lifted his head to see her stretching. She gave him an apologetic look and he responded by kissing her. They lay like that for a little bit and tomb told him she was feeling a little under the weather. He felt bad so he got up and prepared her favorite breakfast of lemons and sugar and brought it into heron a tray. "Here you go madam mouselle." He said doing a really bad impression of a French waiter. Which earned him a smile.

That sounds pretty good. or Dante could go rogue, try and take over the island forcibly, exrivals and campers team up, Dante capture captain and tortures him, giving him some of his old medicine so he starts to question himself. Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments It was a sunny day with a cool breeze that carried the scent of wildflowers from the forest. Chase was in the arena with a group of younger campers explaining to them how to grip a knife. It was just another mellow day and chase was happy for it. Things had been quieting down lately, making his life much easier than it had been. He was finishing up his lesson, showing them a disarming technique and watched on as some tried to mimic his demonstration. He showed them some drills they could do on their own and concluded the lesson. He walked out of the arena and towards the mess hall where he hoped he might find Tomb, as he was hoping he could grab some lunch with her before his border patrol. He wasn't sure why they still did patrol as there wasn't really a threat anymore but they did it nonetheless. Just precautionary, he thought to himself.

message 465: by Mac (new)

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments Chase saw Tomb sitting on a bench with sailor outside the mess hall. At first he was hesitant to go over because sailor was there, and sailor and him had a somewhat tense relationship. Chase had been pretty strict with captain and keeping him in line while sailor was always telling him to lay off. She didn't much like him. But when Tomb waved him over, he decided that he might as well try and make nice. He walked over and was happy to receive a kiss from tomb, and when she said hi, he replied saying, "hey tomb," then after a moment addressing sailor, "hey sailor." She looked up and gave a not but that was all. "I'm about to get some lunch before patrol. You guys wanna come?" He asked motioning toward the entrance of the mess hall.

message 466: by Mac (new)

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments Chase was up and moving in a flash. If he had heard argante correctly, then they were in for a world of trouble. Medics raced to the young girls aid as Nike screamed for them to do something. Just then, a limping Neus who had been walking the border came hobbling to him, his left leg soaked in blood. Chase was going go ask neus what the hell was going on, but he didn't have time as a fireball whooshed toward them and blasted a crater at their feet, forcing them to dive out of the way. "The camp is under attack, arm yourselves, prepare to fight!" Chase yelled. That's when their attacker stepped out of the woods, walking calmly towards them. Chase regretted telling his campers to attack now, as there was no way any of them would beat this threat.

message 467: by Mac (new)

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments "I thought the fireballs were obvious enough, I'm here to claim the island as my own! I'm tired of your puny squabbles with each other. I'm bringing order to this island. I'm the strongest out of you all so you should be kneeling before me, proclaiming me as god. I could rule not only this island, but the whole world. The weaklings on the mainland could never stand up to any attack I might throw at them. They will surrender without a fight and I will take over. For years I have known I could do this, but it seems only recently that I've considered taking action." He said with a wicked smile. Chase watched on as all of this happened, somewhat confused by Dante's sudden attack. Hadn't he been peaceful? What happened? What was wrong with this guy?

message 468: by Mac (new)

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments Chase shook his surprise and ran towards the fight. He was able to tackle Nari just as a ball of fire whizzed over them. Dante just laughed wickedly like a kid who was destroying plastic army men. He drew a few knives and sent them at chase telepathically. Chase gritted his teeth and shifted to metal as the blades clanged off of him. Dante growled and made a move towards him. Immediately chase powered down, as he was not letting Dante take his power. It was his own and he didn't want some mimic taking it for his own. He deflected the knives that came at him now rather than turn to metal. It was the only advantage he had and he wanted to save it until he really needed it. Other campers were gathering now and he saw tomb sneaking around Dante to try and surprise him.

message 469: by Mac (new)

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments Chase watched as the attack on Dante went on. It was an impressive show of strength but Dante just kept healing himself. There was no way to hurt him. Chase jumped into the fight, slashing and jabbing but non of the injuries stayed. Dante was a skilled fighter as well making it hard to injure him in the first place. He smiled as he fought and gave a crazed laugh. Suddenly he sonic blasted his attackers and chase Tomb, nari and everyone else tumbled backwards. Dante rose his voice, "I have come to tell you that in two days I will be back to accept your surrender. If you choose to resist I will kill you." He said, looking at all the campers. During the fight, captain and sailor had showed up and were looking on. Dante seemed to notice the ability blocker on captain and smiled. "Why, captain, I don't have your ability yet, let's fix that." He said. Dante lunged and seized captain and then shifting into a gryphon, carried him away as captain screamed.

message 470: by Mac (new)

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments Chase was stunned. They had thrown everything they had at Dante and he'd been perfectly fine and had enough in him to take captain away. This was bad, real bad. Sailor had gone through some scary change thing and was now sobbing on the ground, letting out mournful cries. When Tomb grabbed him and took him away to go plan, he was a little confused. Plan? How could they plan to defeat something invincible? It just didn't seem possible, but he followed her anyways. Whatever they planned, he figured he'd better take part in it. Tomb looked around for anyone else that might be useful in planning but they all were either injured or out of it. Mars was busy consoling campers, the rest were injured, and they couldn't just grab anyone. They were in ruins.

message 471: by Mac (new)

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments ((Sorry, was at a grad party.))

Chase nodded, assessing their situation. They had two days to figure this thing out or else they were a linear plane wrapped helically around an axis, that is to say, they were screwed. Chase tried to calm himself down and think. He was looking over at the mess hall, at a spot where he had sat on his first day and revealed his power to Tomb. Suddenly a flashback overtook him and he saw himself sitting there saying francium for some reason. Why had he been saying that. Something was eating at his brain and it was relentless. For some reason he was thinking about his weakness. Why though? That's when it hit him. Cold this work? It,was such a wild plan that depended on so many things that it couldn't work. Maybe he'd just keep it to himself and use it as a last result. "Don't worry, we'll find a way." He said absentmindedly, deep in thought.

message 472: by Mac (new)

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments Chase wandered off to go find Jefferson. He needed to ask him a few questions about francium. He found him sitting alone, looking at the overflowing hospital. "Jefferson, I need to ask you a few questions alright?" Jefferson looked up at him, only shock being shown on his face. He nodded so chase continued. "Jefferson, could we possibly get our hands on some francium?" He asked, looking rather expectant. Jefferson replied saying, "well, if you had a good enough reason I imagine we could get you some, but why?" He asked suspiciously. "Oh no reason, just wandering about it. its... it's nothing. I just needed to know." He replied, standing straight up.

message 473: by Mac (new)

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments Chase ran to mars next, hoping for some personal information about Dante. If anybody would know anything, it would be mars or tomb, but tomb was interviewing Argante, so mars was it. He found him talking to dice and rain, promising everything was going to be ok. Chase waited until mars finished. When he did, chase spoke first saying, "mars, when Dante gets a new power, how long does it take for him to master it? Is it right away or does he have to practice a little?" Mars looked confused but was too tired to question. "Umm, I think it takes him a few days to get used to it." He replied in a tired voice. Chase nodded and ran off to find tomb. He decided she now needed to hear about his plan as it could actually work. It had to work. It was the only way to beat Dante that chase could think of.

message 474: by Mac (new)

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments ((Sorry that took so long, cousins are over.))

message 475: by Mac (new)

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments "I have a plan." He panted, having run all the way to her. "I think we can beat him. He takes a few days to master every power he gains right? That's why he gave us two days and then took captain! I have an idea. When he comes, he'll expect a surrender and when we do he will want to take all of the powers he doesn't have yet. So let's give him mine." At first tomb was confused and then she scowled thinking he was messing with her. "No, listen. When I first developed my powers I tuned to everything I touched and got stuck as whatever I touched sometimes. I talked to Jefferson and he said he could get me a small sharp bit of francium coated in a thin layer of wax. When he touches me to take my power I can stab him with the tiny thing. The francium will penetrate the wax and He'll turn to francium and blow up. His whole essence. He won't be able to help it." He explained wondering what tomb would think.

message 476: by Mac (new)

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments How big would the explosion be? Chase hadn't really thought about this but he'd seen about a handful of the stuff explode and it was pretty big. The problem was the shockwave it gave off. There wasn't any shrapnel because the material itself exploded, but the percussion given off would definitely kill any normal human being, especially one the size of Dante. Luckily chase could turn metal but he had no idea if that would help or not. He might be just as vulnerable as anyone or he'd be virtually unaffected. It all depended on how his internals held up. He didn't tell any of this tomb of course. "Nah I'll be fine. I'll turn to metal as soon as possible. Explosion shouldn't be too bad at all. I'll be fine, camp will be fine, we all live. Sounds pretty good to me. And I gotta agree with you, we should make it look like we've got nothing to do, no plan at all." He said with a confident voice.

message 477: by Mac (new)

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments ((Ok! No worries!))

message 478: by Mac (new)

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments "Baby, I'll be fine! I wouldn't do anything if I thought I wouldn't be able to come back and see you I wouldn't do it. Cmon I'll be alright. Metal might not be immortal but it's pretty damn tough. The explosion won't even be that big." He said trying to calm her down. That last part was a complete lie though as he was pretty sure no amount of francium bigger than a softball had ever been detonated. Hell, he didn't even know if a mass of francium bigger than a basketball existed. He wasn't going to tell tomb this of course, but it really did get him thinking on the risks of what he planned to do. Tomb still didn't look convinced so he added, "hey, there won't be any shrapnel coming off of him so what harm could it do? Just a lot of flash and noise!" He added a winning smile to try and convince her.

message 479: by Mac (new)

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments Chase was absolutely not going to let that happen as the shockwave would surely kill her. "Um, you can't. The minor shockwave given off by the explosion will surely kill you. You're going to have to be at a safe distance. My metal will easily withstand it." He explained. He simply could not allow tomb near that explosion, nobody could be. He stood a pretty good chance of living because of his unique abilities but anyone else would suffer fatal internal bleeding or heart complications that would kill them immediately. There was no way Tomb could be right behind him. "Here, how about you circle above as a bird or perch in a nearby tree? That way you will be safe but ready for action as soon as it happens. There really is no reason to think it's unsafe." He reasoned, trying to get her to see sense.

message 480: by Mac (new)

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments "Rain! You want to put a 3 year old next to an explosion! I really, really don't think that's a good idea. Why would we put rain there, sure it would cover our plan but how is she going to know when to get out of there on time? What if it kills her? She's only three! I don't know Tomb, that's pretty risky. We'd have to make sure she knew when to fly- wait, we have a telepath don't we? Someone who could read my mind and then speak into rains? That way they could tell her when to fly away. Because that could actually work." He said warming a little to the idea. He didn't think the plan was a good idea, but it was the only idea. Desperate times call for desperate measures.

message 481: by Mac (new)

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments Chase nodded and started to understand better the logic of the plan. "Alright, well do it, but we need everyone else behind cover or at least 50 yards away from that blast." He added, making sure to emphasize the part about everyone. He didn't want Tomb running out just before he blew Dante to smithereens. She just nodded, brow still pinched in thought and concern. The plan was definitely starting to take shape, now they just needed to finalize and implement it. "Don't tell more than a few people about this. We don't need word getting to Dante somehow before we get the chance to end him." Chase added. He didn't know if there were spies or not, but better safe than sorry.

message 482: by Mac (new)

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments Chase nodded, "ok, good, I'll let you get things in order and stuff, and I'll go talk to Jefferson about getting our little secret weapon." He responded. Chase ran off to go grab Jefferson and talk to him about getting a little tiny piece of francium. He found him right where he'd left him and started talking as soon as he was in earshot. "Jefferson! I need a tiny sharp piece of francium coated in A thin layer of wax as soon as possible. It needs to be a secret though, I want it delivered stealthily, and I want it given to me as soon as you have it." He spouted, speaking quietly so no one else heard him. Jefferson looked up like he was crazy but after receiving a hard stare back, he just nodded and said he'd have it by tomorrow. Perfect.

message 483: by Mac (new)

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments After chase talked to Jefferson, it was getting later in the day. He stalked off to the mess hall hoping for some dinner. As he made his way there, tomb found him and informed him that Adeline was in on the plan and willing to do it, now they just needed to tell rain. They could do that tomorrow though as they had done enough for today. Tomb looked too tired anyways and chase definitely wasn't feeling up for it. They both ordered their food and then ate, just updating each other on who had gotten hurt and the general condition of the camp. After that they headed back to their house, holding hands and shuffling along slowly. It had been a hard day and it definitely was not going to be any better tomorrow or the next day. But chase knew he'd make it through because tomb was still right there next to him.

message 484: by Mac (new)

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments chase sat in the kitchen and warmed a cup of hot chocolate and kept the water hot as he might have a mug or two. When tomb came out from her bath and got dressed, she requested a mug of chases specialty and so he made her one. The drink did not take long to make and she had it in her hands in minutes. they sat there solemnly, sipping away at their chocolaty drinks, Chase decided that he was pretty tired and told tomb that he was going to head to bed. he cleaned out his mug and headed towards his bed, dreading the day ahead.

message 485: by Mac (new)

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments Chase had felt tomb climb into bed with him and burrow her way into the crook of his arm. When she kissed him and told him those three words he loved to hear so much he smiled. "I love you too baby. And don't worry, well both come through this together ok?" he said soothingly, drinking in her warmth and feeling her closeness. there was absolutely no way he was ever going to let anything get between him and a future with her. Screw the Phrase till death do us part, Chase thought. They were both barely older than eighteen, they still had lives to live. there was no way he was letting death come so soon. He held her tight and then drifted off to sleep, having been nodding off when she climbed in with him.

((wanna skip to the day of the plan or let them stew for a day or two?))

message 486: by Mac (new)

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments Chase had woken up to rain as well and was somewhat amused by the warrior get up that rain had on. He looked on as Tomb gave rain a smile and watched as the little girl waved her sword about. He got up, rubbing the sleep from his eyes and clearing the grogginess from his head. Today was the day. The day of days. He was about to attempt to set off an extremely large chemical reaction that would result in an explosion that he still had no idea of how big it would be. He sat up in bed and slid on his socks, making sure to tuck his small thing of metal into his shoe. It was his only piece of metal he had with him so he really, really hoped that it stayed with him. He got dressed and headed to the kitchen for what could be his last hot chocolate. He wasn't dwelling on these things though, as he told himself that he was going to be fine and no harm would come to him.

message 487: by Mac (new)

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments Chase gave a soft smile as his number one reason for coming through this alive hugged him and gave him kisses. He let her nuzzle his neck and then turned to face her. She had been coping pretty well the last few days and had been going about business as usual but now, as the day was upon them, he saw fear in her eyes. He wanted to tell her everything was going to be ok and that for sure he was coming back no matter what, but he knew it would make her worry more. "Hey, it's a solid plan and I've got everything in order. It'll go off without a hitch and I'll be ordering fish and chips for supper tonight like always ok?" He said, hoping to put her at ease.

message 488: by Mac (new)

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments "Maybe, but lets just get this done, they will be here within the hour and I have to go get my stuff from Jefferson." He said, kissing her forehead. She asked to come with and he happily agreed. Raid, who didn't much like the government man flew off as a hummingbird telling them, "I ready! See you soon." They walked out the door towards the mess hall where they were supposed to meet before Dante showed up. Jefferson was there and when chase got there he was handed a quarter of an inch piece of grey metal coated in a thin layer of dull, skin colored wax. He accepted it and gingerly slid it into his pocket, not wanting his body temperature to melt of the wax. Adaline was there as well and a soft voice resonated in his head saying, "good luck." He nodded. These were the people he was relying on to get to him as soon as possible if something went awry.

message 489: by Mac (new)

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments When Dante entered camp, he walked right to the center where they had expected him to go. He was holding Argante in his arms and she was shaking and cringing like she was in pain. "Dante! Leave her be! I'm coming to get her, don't hurt her any more." He called out to the villain. Chase walked out to meet the smug bastard at the center of the field and added, "we surrender ok? Well give you our new powers and we won't resist, just please do not hurt the camp or anyone here." He reached for Argante and when he finally had a hold of her, he waved in mars and Alana to help her off. "Where's captain and sailor? If you killed them then you can expect a fight from tomb." He said, fearing that he had killed tombs sister and her boyfriend.

message 490: by Mac (new)

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments Chase grimaced when the fire went up around them and he pulled rain to him protectively. He knew Adeline was out there listening to his thoughts so he thought, "Adeline, if I don't make this, tell Tomb I love her. Get ready." He turned his attention back to Dante and frowned when he mentioned captain and sailor, but he had to focus. "Ok Dante, we're surrendering, I'm unarmed and letting you take my power." He said, turning out his pockets to show him, but slipping the francium into his hand stealthily. Dante smiled and stepped forward eagerly, reaching to touch chase. When Dante's fingers touched him, he felt and odd flow of energy and knew Dante now had his powers. "Adeline, now." He thought. A buzz of tiny wings went off. He said a silent prayer and pictured tombs face in his head then moved the little piece of metal to his fingers and drove it home. Dante looked surprised and after a split second, it happened. His uncontrolled new powers turned Dante into a huge mass of Francium. Chase instantly turned metal, just barely doing so before a huge explosion ripped through the air around him. Bigger than the ship they had evacuated. It was indescribable. He was instantly blinded by the flash and the noise rang throughout his ears. None of this compared to the shockwave that hit him though. The invisible force coursed through him, rattling him to his core, shaking his metal teeth. He was thrown backwards, clutching his chest as he did so. He lost all concentration once it had hit him and he'd suffered the tail end of the blast as flesh and bone. He'd avoided the physical damage with his metal, but there was something wrong with his chest.he could feel his heart beating, but it was off, convulsing in spasms and sporadically. And then it stopped and the world started fading. His vision going dimmer like someone had lowered the brightness of the sun. He was dying, this he knew, but as he faded, tomb appeared above him and his heart gave a literal flutter and then went silent again, giving him enough strength to say, "I love you"

message 491: by Mac (new)

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments Chase had some odd experiences before, like when he'd almost died and all of his family and friends had one through his mind, but now he was just... floating. He couldn't see anything or feel anything. He was just floating in what seemed like nothingness. Maybe this is what it was like to die, maybe this was all there was afterward. Chase really had no idea. All of a sudden, like a projector, a slideshow went by him. It was pictures of everything he'd done in his life. There were track meets, old family holidays, vacations, school, his first day on the island, meeting Tomb, waking up and seeing Tomb on his bed, and so much more. They all started flipping faster and faster, showing him every image he'd ever remembered in his life. Then something happened, and there was a whooshing sound. He snapped back into the physical world. At least, that's what it seemed like. Everything was still dark but he could feel his body and could hear someone crying. He wasn't quite sure who, but he wasn't around long enough to know, as he passed out again. It was what seemed like seconds before he came too again, but he really didn't know, it could've been hours, days, or weeks. He wasn't sure. This time he felt more grounded, more settled than the last. He opened his eyes and winced as the pain washed over him. It felt like all of his chest, including his insides were bruised. But that only registered for a second as what he saw was much more important. Sitting there, at the edge of his bed was a black cat, dozing by his foot. He couldn't talk, as drawing in enough air to do so was incredibly painful, so he nudged her with his toe.

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments He wanted to respond, but all he could do was accept the kissed and smile slightly. He was so happy to see her and she seemed pretty happy to see him. Man, she looked like she hadn't eaten and slept for ages, which he guessed she probably hadn't, but right now he didn't care, he was just happy to see her. Once she calmed down a bit, he made a writing motion with his hand, indicating he wanted a paper and pencil. She got it for him. He wrote out 5 sentences before he set it down. The scribbles were weak but legible. They read, "Is the camp and everyone alright? How long have I been out? Whats happened? Is it supper time yet because I want some fish and chips and you need food. I love you." She looked over his paper and scoffed when she read "I told you I'd be alright." Chase guessed he was far from alright because he felt incredibly weak and guessed he had the biggest bruise ever on his chest. He didn't even want to look.

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments He thought over what he said and decided he'd forget about the more serious stuff until he would be able to deal with it. He smiled when she said that she was going to kill him when he recovered and wrote down, "sooooooooo I may have lied a little about how big the explosion and following shock wave were gonna be. Hey, the explosion wasn't THAT big. Just knocked the wind out of me a little. I told you I'd live, didn't I? And last time we sparred it ended in a tie." She read it and scowled at him but he just shrugged, giving his best I'm sorry smile he could. She still wasn't forgiving him so he weakly shifted his arms around her, giving her a light hug. His body screamed in protest, but it was nice to embrace her. "I'm sorry baby. I love you." He managed in a whisper.

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments Have saw the worry in her face and stoped smiling. It really had been a jerk move to almost die and he saw the toll it took on tomb. He felt guilty as he sat there, waiting for her to return with some food. If their positions were flipped he would've been furious with her for putting herself in such danger. How could he have done that to someone he loved. He'd never thought about what it would do to Tomb if he died and as he reflected on it, he felt even worse and worse about it. He was on the verge of tears when Tomb walked back into the room and the first words out of his mouth were, "tomb, I... I'm so sorry for doing this to you, I should've been more straight forward. I can't imagine what... I just... I'm really sorry Tomb, please forgive me." His voice was terribly horse, so he wasn't sure how much she understood.

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments Chase nodded, letting a tear or two escape his eye as he hugged her. When he pulled back, he said, "I love you too. So much so that just when I was about to die, you appeared over me, and it literally caused my heart to beat after it had stopped. Just the sight of you made my heart race. I love you." He finished, his voice getting a little better as he used it, though the pain persistent. He took his smoothie and downed the thing, realizing exactly how hungry he was. It was delicious and when he was done, he felt a little better. Finally, chase looked down at his body. He'd been dreading this part but he needed to know. His ribs were wrapped tightly and bandages, but any skin that was showing on his chest was a violent shade of purple. It was disheartening, looking at how purple it looked. He swallowed hard. He really really was hoping to recover relatively quickly but he guessed that wasn't going to happen, based on what he saw.

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments Chase sighed. The worst part of getting mortally wounded, beside scaring your loved ones, was having to eat mushy foods and being bedridden for a while. That part really sucked. Sure, some might say, oh, but didn't it hurt to almost die? Well, yes, yes it did. But going crazy because you are stuck in a bed while life goes on is right up there next to the pain of almost dying as far as things that sucked went. But at least he'd have Tomb there to help him out the entire time. That would really be incredibly helpful. Chase yawned really big and then grimaced from the pain it caused. "I'm feeling pretty tired already, uh, will you stay and sleep with me? I know you probably have stuff to do, but I'd feel better." He said quietly, gazing into her eyes.

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments Chase was happy that Tomb stayed with him. And as she lay next to him, purring and soothing him to sleep, he could scarcely imagine how lucky he was. To find a girl that he loved as much as Tomb, who loved him back just as much, was something he'd always thought impossible. He was so lucky to have her and knew that he would never let her go. If soul mates were a thing, than she was his and he was hers. He drifted off to sleep, tomb in cat form purring and soothing him to sleep. When his eyes blinked open the next day it was pretty early and he figured because he'd been sleeping so much he had more rest than usual so he was up early. Tomb was still curled up next to his neck and ear. He reached up and gently stroked her head and spine.

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments He watched as Tomb stretched and liked her paws and dragged them over her head. It was kinda funny imagining Tomb in human form doing that and the thought made him smile. "You're funny, ya know that?" He said, surprised that his voice had come back to him a little. It still ached unpleasantly to talk, but at least he sounded better. "Aww, tomb, you make a cute cat." He said, petting her head and then running his finger down her spine like he had before. This earned a purr from her and he just smiled. What was it like to be a cat he wondered. Probably somewhat weird but also pretty cool he guessed, observing tomb as she lazily flopped down onto the bed again. She transformed back to human and complained that he was making her fall asleep by petting her like he was. He just smiled and earned an annoyed look from Tomb.

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments Chase raised an eyebrow at her after she finished speaking. "Shouldn't you buy me dinner first?" He asked, earning a whack on the arm for his comment. He smiled at her and said, "well, if your going to do that, just don't enjoy it too much. Haha, hey, remember the first night I slept with you? Well, I'll tell you what you told me. Don't you try anything." He said with a smile, winking at her. She just rolled her eyes and went to go get a doctor. When she returned she held a small cup with some syrup in it that chase could only assume as pain killer. He downed it, thankful for a reprieve form the constant ache and occasional shooting pains. He felt his mind get foggy and he fell into a funny state of confusion.

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1738 comments Chase giggled now, thinking that the fact that she was going to give him a bath was downright hilarious. She smirked to herself and helped him up so he was siting on the edge of his bed. Schafer grimaced a few times, but they went slow and steady, careful not to strain anything. She started unwrapping his bandages and unwound them from around his body. Chase, all drugged up, became fascinated with how purple he was, even saying, "I'm a grape." Once the bandages were off. Once he was unwrapped and propped up, tomb dropped his arm around her and helped him up carefully. They walked to the edge of the water and chase dropped his robe and was then lowered into the warm water, sighing as he sat down on the bench, the water reaching just under his chin.
