Hi! I started reading a book about 2 years ago which involved a woman who either a doctor (or more specifically, a coroner) who lives in her parents delapidated house. She is also a funeral director because her parents (supposedly) died while driving (from memory, it was off a cliff) and they had previously owned it... she needs $$ and i think shes also competing for business with one other funeral home.

The Hero is a cop or a sheriff who is apparently very welthy (rich family money) and likes the hero but she doesnt know about it.

I think there is someone from out of town who sneaks in to her house and she finds him there but he doesnt attack her and there is some innuendo that her parents wernt really who they seemed to be.
