What an asshole! I hate how he treats him! he's forever trying to help and all he wants is for his father to trust him and he still doesn't after all he's done.. I really hope he stands up for himself too and that he feels better about himself because that man made him feel like shit!

And then please explain it to me... I'm gonna stop and wait for you to catch up :)"
Thanks! I'm still 2 chapters behind.

Exactly. He needs to get away from all those people who don't appreciate him and start to stand up for himself. Move to his own house. Find something to do for himself...

And that's what he'll probably find in Rosalind... someone who believes in him.

I really hope so too :( we're becoming protective of Nathaniel! :D I want to stand up for him myself! ( but I'll probaly hurt his pride 😁)
Hahaha now you're refering to her as "whatshername" by the end of the book, you'll probably just write their initals :D

😂 but he's so precious!!! And (like Penelope) he needs someone to support him and appreciate him for who he is so he'll finally recognize his own worth. I hope Rosalind will return the favor and stand up to his family. That would be awesome!

So chapter 20 came and went and (view spoiler) I'm a bit mad for how they're treating my precious. There had better be some groveling from her at the end...

Oh poor Nate... :( Ok I'm going to read now. I will catch up to you today.

End of venting :D I will be reading more chapters later to see what will happen. And I agree, Rosalind needs to grovel a bit at the end . Even though I think it will be Nate groveling at end... he just THAT kind of guy!

The Annie thing also bothered me. (view spoiler) . Brilliant observation that she stole her life at the same time. I didn't think of it that way, but you're right. She could've just let her go, or, I don't know make her (view spoiler)
Ah. The letter. I have no idea other than for the sake of Drama. I mean. (view spoiler)

did you stop at chapter 20? or did you read more?

Yes! I read that part 2 times to make sure I haven't misread! but (view spoiler)

Oh man.... you can't imagine how much I hate this Anne women! I wanted to slap her and then slap her some more. Especially in this scene (view spoiler)
So I finished it! and I'm about to write some spoilers because I just can't stop myself. I need to vent! So don't read it until you're done. (view spoiler)
What chapter are you on?

The word I've been looking for to describe the resolution: Ridiculous! I've been searching for the right word :D because somehow, it seemed off to me... I was like "so that's it, huh" could have been solved earlier.

I can... I can't believe she had the nerve.
Lacey wrote:"I mean it was kind of obvious..."
I know, RIGHT? It was so absurd...

But somehow not really enough...."
yup. A bit lacking...

Yeah. Rosalind at the end was like "OMG it was you??? never suspected anything, how could I have been this stupid?" It was like this big, scary problem she had was completely absurd... That's how the resultion felt. But I'm glad there wasn't more drama, like Nathaniel being mad, I think that would have ruined it for me completely.

I agree. It conveniently tied up all the problems and no one had anything on Rosalind anymore and all. Could've been worse. There could've been last-minute abductions or something....

To me, it was enough that they talked about their problems. I would have wanted the father to apologize more because it wasn't enough for me. but I'm okay with Nate not doing it (the telling his father off) , because it would have been against his personality. He's a carefree, sweet and caring man. It wouldn't have suited him IMO

Oh my god! that would have been horrible! I like this ending better :D

I don't know. I wish it would've been explored more. I would like to know if moving out helps him become more independent from his family and if they finally appreciate him now that he's gone and they can't rely on him for everything...

I agree with you. It was an enjoyable read, and I absolutely loved Nate. I liked Rosalind as well, and the story was good... so I'm thinking 3.5 stars that I'll round up to 4 stars :)

I don't know. I wish it would've been explored more. I ..."
Yes, that would have been nice. An epilogue would've been great.

Definitely. Maybe they'll show up in the next book a little bit?

I'm glad we enjoyed it! I've had so much fun reading it with you :) No, I don't think you missed them, I would have loved the characters to be connected. I'm really curious about Nate's siblings. I hope she'll write the next books about them.

I hope so! I like to re meet old characters in other books.

Me too. The widowed siblings, or Bart's sisters maybe...

Of course :) I'll let you know!

Anyway, glad you guys seemed to enjoy this one, although you still didn't like some of the family drama. I liked this one. There was drama, but it felt real.

Great! I'd love to :)
Wait. There's someone who's even better than Nate? adding it! I do like sweet heros.
I liked this book. I just think that Rosalind could have stood up for herself a bit earlier. She was scared for her sister which is understandable, but still...
