Rachael | 8 comments Plot : Earth is part of an intergalactic empire. The empire had been at peace for centuries and humans had sworn off war. When earth was attacked by one of the other members of the empire, they were about to learn that humans had stopped fighting not because we were afraid, but because we were too good at war.

NO idea what this is Rachael, but I'll be adding it to my tbr mountain range when it's found.

Now for a few questions--when did you read this? A range of dates is ok if you can't remember exactly. What format did you read it in? What age range is it meant for? Is it a stand-alone or a part of a series? Any memories of the cover? Do you remember if the author was male or female? How did you find it--personal recommendation for you, it was on the Our Staff Recommends shelf at a library or bookstore, you saw a review?

Rachael | 8 comments Found 20 years ago, but it was not a new book at the time. It was recommended at the end of another sci-fi book. I don't know that it was part of a series, but it could have been.

Andy | 2124 comments Could be a lot of things - the idea that humans are superior at warfare is pretty common. See the literature tab at this link http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php... for a few possibilities. Off the top of my head, I'd suggest Niven's "Man-Kzin Wars" books as a best bet.

Note that the Man Kzin War's books' blurb includes "But the Kzinti learned the hard way that the reason humanity had given up war was that they were so very, very good at it. "

Man-Kzin Wars series by Larry Niven - Andy's suggestion - https://www.goodreads.com/series/5022...

Rachael, can you describe the non-human characters?

message 8: by Rachael (new)

Rachael | 8 comments Sorry; I cannot. This was a book description inside of another book.

Which book had the description in?
