I received one as well. Promptly deleted it. I found it completely suspect.

IF you're going to ask for free books to review at least make your profile visible and show that you are actually reviewing anything. It would be a start at least.

Yes, I received one from Doug today as well. I'm glad I read this post before responding. I will delete it. Thanks so much for sharing. Lynn

Hi,
I have created a "Starter Package" of 112 USD under which you get the following services:
a) 5 HONEST book reviews on Amazon (Guaranteed, or your money back for the number of reviews you don’t get). I will make the reviews "VERIFIED" FREE of cost if your book costs 99 cents on Amazon
b) 1 UNIQUE review on Goodreads (Guaranteed, or your money back)
Please note: This is NOT a paid review service; the payment you make is not for reviews (the reviewers don’t paid get a dime) but an administrative cost toward arranging, tracking and reporting for the same. Therefore, my review service is 100% compliant with Amazon’s terms of service.
If you do not want to take advantage of the above "Starter" package and prefer purchasing my services on a la carte basis, please visit:
==WEBSITE== (that is where you would find my other services as well)
If you are interested only in reviews then please also take a look at:
==WEBSITE==
To order, just let me know what you are interested in and your paypal address. I will send you an invoice. If you wish to pay by any other methods let me know as well.

Don't feel bad, I sent Doug a copy too. After all, I'm actively looking for reviews, and I thought that he saw one of my posts in the actively-looking-for-reviews forum. I suspect nothing will ever come of it.

Beware anyone who approaches you.

Personally, I think Goodreads needs a THREAT BOARD to inform all users of suspicious messages, so no one has to be caught unaware.

I received an email earlier today from one Alex Pavlenko offering reviews, promotion of book on social media and that I could get as many as 200 downloads/purchases....

I received exactly the same email today as well.

Same here. Now I feel like a complete fool. What can we do? Is there anything we can do to prevent "Doug" from stealing our stories?

All groups are separate and moderators cannot do anything about emails (we are users like you, not Goodreads employees). You will need to contact Goodreads directly to report abuse. Understand, however, that as these accounts get deleted, new ones spring up. The only thing you can do is not send your manuscript out to a solicitation. As has been mentioned in this and other threads countless times, reviewers are not likely to solicit. Typically they have authors clamoring for their attention.

I just got an email from: RUPERT
I didn't open it, but shot it immediately into the SPAM file.

It seems a little off to me. Has anyone else been contacted or know about this guy?
PS. I didn't know if I was allowed to post the actual email so I erred on the side of caution.
