Just about to start this as my first book for the challenge. Haven't come across the author before so it will be a new experience all round.

Susan Wright | 17 comments Finished reading 'Murder Solstice' review on my goodreads page (I think, I'm still getting used to how the site works.) An enjoyable read and I'll be looking for others in the series.

Next up is Shadow of the Castle Shadow of the Castle by Matthew Macleod

Susan Wright | 17 comments Finished reading Shadow of the Castle but still trying to work out how I feel about it. Don't get me wrong I enjoyed it but there's just something that didn't feel right about it. I just can't work out what that was yet.

Moving back onto more familiar ground next with Offshore Offshore (Shetland Island, #6.1) by Ann Cleeves

Ann Cleeves shouldn't disappoint!

I've already read all bar the latest Shetland novel and have enjoyed the Vera tv series although i haven't read them yet so I'm sure I'll enjoy this one too.

Have now put a review on my page although I'm still a bit unsure about this one. I've tried to get a handle on what didn't feel right about and I think it may be that it wants to be part of a series but isn't.

Susan Wright | 17 comments Have now finished and reviewed Offshore (Shetland Island, #6.1) by Ann Cleeves .

As predicted I really enjoyed it, the only thing I can really say against it is that being a collection of short stories I was just starting to really get invested in each story/character when it finished.

I could happily have just kept on reading.

Susan Wright | 17 comments Moving into very different territory with my next read, Yellow Peril: The SNP Bad Campaign Yellow Peril The SNP Bad Campaign by Pat Anderson

It won't be to many peoples taste but from what I've read so far, it should be very interesting.

I've just added this to my Kindle for reading when I finish my current book. I like the Shetland series, and watch the Vera series on tv, so I'm hoping this stands up.

Susan Wright | 17 comments Finished Yellow Peril: The SNP Bad Campaign Yellow Peril The SNP Bad Campaign by Pat Anderson which was an interesting read but one you will either love or hate depedning on which side of the debate you are on. Not going to say much about it as a result although it did raise a few interesting points.

Susan Wright | 17 comments Followed it up swiftly with The Quasimodo Trunk An Oz Blackstone Story - 3 (Oz Blackstone Story --- 3) by Quintin Jardine The Quasimodo Trunk: An Oz Blackstone Story - 3the latest Oz Blackstone short story by Quintin Jardine which I'm including because although the story is set in Canada and Spain, one of the main characters and of course the author are definitely Scottish.

Being a short story it only took about an hour to devour and now I'm impatiently awaiting the next one. Review on my goodreads page.

I'm now starting Exciting Lives Exciting Lives (Death on the Clyde #3) by Hunter J. Walker the third book in the Death on the Clyde series.

Susan Wright | 17 comments Have finished and written a short review of Exciting Lives (Death on the Clyde #3) by Hunter J. Walker The 3rd in a series and after a short break I will be moving on to the 4th installment.

First though I've just started In Line for Murder In Line for Murder by Colin Garrow a period detective short story/ novella set in Victorian Edinburgh.

Susan Wright | 17 comments Have now finished a run of short stories starting with In Line for Murder quite a fun short detective story with a twist. Then read Too Good To Be True a Shetland series short by Ann Cleeves, review here https://www.goodreads.com/review/show.... Next was the Ian Rankin short The Travelling Companion which was too strange for my taste as mentioned in my review https://www.goodreads.com/review/show....

Susan Wright | 17 comments After these short stories I returned to a full length novel with the first first book in a legal/crime series Relatively Guilty Relatively Guilty (Best Defence #1) by William H.S. McIntyre This was the first time I'd read anything by this author and I enjoyed it so much that I moved straight onto the 2nd in the series Duty Man without really stopping to do a review. I will come back to it though.
