Do you think Fred should have lived?

Personally I really wanted Fred to live- I love the twins. But when Rowling gave us her speech about why she killed everyone off, I understand why she did it. Or that's what the logical side of me says. The other side is screaming how it was totally unnecessary and unfair to readers to kill off such a lovable character.

In a literary perspective... Not necessarily. It was a great plot device to upset readers and someone needed to be killed off in the war anyway.

Looking at it through a lens of empathy... Yeah, he should've lived. George would've lived a much better life if he was alive.

In reality, yes. We all wish he would have. But in the book? Absolutely not. I feel that it was an important plot point. He didn't deserve it but it was a hell of a plot twist.
