When reading about Caroline I just want to shout, "I told you so!" Nothing good comes from cheating. I can relate to her being a "middle-aged" single woman. It's not easy. But she let things go to far with Paul a LONG time ago and is only now realizing that was a mistake. I am glad she didn't run back to him when he just showed up at her coat charity. I gained some respect for her there. We can all learn from our mistakes.
It's starting to weave together a bit. Anise just showed up at Caroline's with Janina. I'm guessing somehow Caroline is going to become involved with helping The Rabbits.

I just finished chapter 29, so I'm not done with this section yet, but Caroline made me SO ANGRY I had to stop and talk about it. She should NEVER have gotten involved with a married man in the first place. And then to act so callously towards Rena -- when Rena had not only survived a horrific ordeal, but was also missing a child -- made my blood boil. I'm sorry, but Caroline's broken heart could have been avoided and in any case is small potatoes compared to Rena's struggle. Rena APOLOGIZED to her for deciding that she wanted and needed Paul, which was way more than she needed or even should do! And how spiteful for Caroline to decide not to help them find their child. SO childish. Especially considering it's her own damn fault for getting involved with a married man (I mean...Paul's fault, too. But Paul also isn't responsible for her feelings and actions when he decides to return to his wife). Rant over for now.

Preach!! haha. I definitely think Caroline hit a low point here. But her character definitely turns a corner. Keep going!
