Skye | 200 comments That's good to know, and thanks!

Maureen Carden | 125 comments What did y'all think of some of Manon's habits? Internet dating with careless sex, listening to police radio to help sleep? What did you think about her sister?

Skye | 200 comments I found Manon to be peculiar in so many ways: in fact, there is a touch of masculinity to her and she certainly doesn't care about personal hygiene or the frillies that many other women find significant; as the book progressed, I began to think her habits were on the OCD side and she was drowning any of her vulnerabilities with total immersion with her job. She is a pip.

Skye | 200 comments The ending ( I won't be a spoiler) really was a glimpse into the true Manon.

Icewineanne | 725 comments I felt that her burning for casual sex stemmed from loneliness & need to be desired, even by someone she was really not attracted to.

Skye you're right about the masculine aspect......as she's running around with that infected eye.........most women (myself included) would not have left the house LOL

Skye | 200 comments Icewineanne: You got it---! she gets involved with risky, undesirable men to feel something---some sense of belonging or being wanted, but she picks losers and realizes they are but still goes through the actions ( this is something I never understood about her).

VickiLee | 251 comments I found Manon, in spite of her often needy (even sadly pathetic, at times) to be a wonderfully fallible yet likeable character. The story itself, told from a variety of views, captured me at first. However, by the end of the novel, I found that I was disappointed with the resolution of the book.

Skye | 200 comments Like you, VickiLee, I thought Manon was quite unique in every manner, including her name; I liked the story, but I found the ending to be less satisfying, albeit, heart warming. I think, but I may be wrong, that it was the 'cliffhanger' for the next novel, although it wasn't much of a cliff hanger.
