Depending on the secret - if it's a matter of life or death for that person or some kind of criminal investigation.

May 25, Thursday: Since it's my anniversary I'll go in that route. If you're married - how long have you been married?

message 57: by ilikeboox (new)

ilikeboox | 242 comments Happy Anniversary!

We have been married twenty-seven years. How about you?

Thank you on the well wishes :). We have been married 9 years now, so I have a bit before I hit those 20+ year marks like you guys!

Sunday May 28 - Up here in Wisconsin this weekend is the traditional start of gardening season. Do you plant a garden - flowers or veggies?

I do and I'm glad to know I am not really behind. I always want to get started the beginning of May but as usual, it's been too wet to get it tilled.

Hubby and I went out at about 6a this morning ... with cloudy skies that soon began to drizzle and ultimately forced us indoors with steady rain ... and thunder.

BUT we got a good portion of annuals planted. Still have a flat of impatiens and a flat of snap dragons to go. Tomorrow is another day ....

We do not plant edibles ... although last year our next door neighbor's teenage daughter begged for a section of yard to plant and she planted zucchini, peppers, onions, lemon grass, sage and thyme. Of course she didn't take care of it as she had promised she would ... We did all the weeding and harvesting (sharing the bounty with them). So last fall we dug everything up and planted some new hydrangea bushes in that section of the yard.

I have to laugh, because despite frost warnings and even a couple of snowfalls in early May in the past, Hubby thinks if he's not DONE by Mother's Day he's behind. Drives me crazy. He'll announce that "that section is YOUR responsibility" and I'll agree, with the caveat that I will not start until Memorial Day. Then he'll usually have it all done by Mother's Day anyway. This year he bought all the plants, but I kept refusing to put them in the ground until this weekend. He put several perennials (coneflowers and poppies) in "my" garden because he could not help himself. LOL

My husband and I usually just plant a few tomato plants. We bought 4 this year and our neighbor gave us one. I also planted a lily that I got cheap (.49). We'll see how that goes. I do not have a green thumb!

Monday May 29 - In the USA we are celebrating Memorial Day, and traditionally this weekend kicks off the "summer" (lasts until Labor Day, the first weekend in Sept). So, what are your plans for summer? (Or winter if you're in the Southern Hemisphere...)

My husband and I are spending a week in New Orleans to celebrate our 20th wedding anniversary. No kids! Other than that..not much.

ilikeboox | 242 comments We have a picnic today. Then more through the summer - some we're hosting and others we are attending elsewhere. The rest of the time I'll be doing my best to avoid the heat and bugs. I can't wait for winter!

My plan is to be retired .... my last day of work is June 9! Our niece is coming for a visit in early July (we think ... she's notoriously bad about letting us know her plans). We have a couple of cook-outs planned with friends. Other than that, I'm just gonna sit back and relax ... indoors. Just like ilikeboox, I hate heat and bugs.
