Kat put in an appearance in this book as well. What do you think of the way her relationship with Sebastian is evolving?

[Veronica]

I was dreading her return and Sebastian's reaction to seeing her again. I know he loves Hero and he would never betray her that way but there has still always been that lingering "what might have been" feeling on Sebastian's part. That's another reason why his continued anger at Hendon annoyed me. He still seemed angry that Hendon's lies drove him away from Kat whereas I always wanted him to realize that the anger wasn't necessary on those grounds anymore because even if he could go back and change things, he wouldn't because he wouldn't trade his life with Hero now for anything. So, yes, I was somewhat dreading Kat's return and a start up again of that left over pining for what was lost.

So color me very relieved that their reunion was so...normal. Like any two friends meeting up again with no whisper of hidden passion or sparks still remaining. It's high time that Sebastian's feelings made that final evolution and I couldn't be happier. Too bad Kat didn't leave town sooner, lol.

I'm still not happy that he forgave her for her betrayal and treason.

To me, his anger with Hendon over Kat was a mask for the real reason, which was the fact that Hendon lied to him about his paternity for so long.

[Veronica]

I agree she got off too easy for her lies. It's why I don't hold out much hope that he'll hold his mother accountable if and when he ever finds her. Unlike Hendon, who he held at the edges of his life for over a year.

[Charlene]

Interesting comments, ladies. I am so relieved that Kat seemed to have some standards regarding Sebastian. If she appears again, I hope it continues.

It's Sebastian who's evolved. While he'll always love her, his feelings for Hero are so much stronger, deeper and intimate and he now knows it. And so does Kat.
