I do multi task audiobooks while cleaning house and many other things. But I have not learned to knit or crochet...maybe someday!

Hello,

alongside writing, I have my children, a boy 13 and a girl nearly 3. I love film and music and have been a musician for over thirty years. I play multiple instruments and inherited, from my grandfather, the ability to sit with something for a while, fiddle around, then play it. And I love it, though some people seem to find it irritating.
I love travel, especially hiking and, in 2012, I completed the Camino de Santiago, an 800km walk across northern Spain; I completed this in 27 days.

I also enjoy sandwiches of many kinds. tmi?

M.J. Kerr (mjkerr) I'm in my early thirties and work in medical microbiology, so I find viruses, bacteria and all manners of little itty bitties fascinating. I have a toddler niece whom I adore and spend as much time with as I can, and am a proud dog mom! I love to travel and try to visit somewhere new every year, and especially enjoy when I can get out to nature.

When not reading I do try and write and almost have a first draft done. I am an avid video game player and invest time - still - in World of Warcraft. I also love to sketch, research genealogy and family history, dance and try to keep up my clarinet skills while also trying to learn guitar. Cheese is my favourite food of all kind, I could live forever on pizza, and have a soft spot for Indian food (spicier the better!)

I enjoy cheese very much as well. I am a dog mom as well. Great to learn more about you, Mandi!

Cheese should be a food group. It's my second favorite thing to eat/drink. Second only to coffee. If I could live on cheese and coffee I'd be a happy person.

I played clarinet from 5th grade through my sophomore year of high school. I hated it. If played well it has a beautiful sound. If not it makes dogs howl, literally. 😂 We had a dachshund that howled the entire time I practiced. It made me hate playing even more.

I love to cook. I grew up helping in the kitchen and had to start dinner when I was in junior high. Now I make up my own recipes. I posted my version of Italian Wedding soup in recipes thread. I just bought a multicooker/instapot and made the best chili in it last week. I'll post the recipe this week.

I'm the youngest of four girls but our age gaps are so large we were never close. My oldest sister is 15 years older than I.

I have tried to use my bow and arrows but I am not very good. My Dad was great at it.

I have been thinking about audiobooks more. How many people like them? What are your thoughts on audiobooks? I don't buy them often.

Another travel fan here! I generally have to budget travel, but I have been able to see some pretty incredible sights. What are your favorites?

I love the beach and the ocean. Near water is always a good place for me. What about you?

Penelope Bristol (pene) | 4 comments My favorite thing to do is to walk and listen to audible books. I try not to think about how many books I have purchased because its probably a ridiculous amount. I have always loved reading but now, I am a listener as well. What I wish I was good at, is gardening. I love how beautiful yards and potted plants look but I seem to kill everything I don't plant in the ground during the summer when frequent sun and rain do the heavy work for me.

You are an audio book fan, as well. I enjoy them very much! Do you have any great ones you want to share?

message 166: by Penelope (new)

Penelope Bristol (pene) | 4 comments Yes! The Silent Patient and an audible original called -Man on the Mountaintop. I think I listened to that one three times. It was done like a play with sound effects and I felt like it was just brilliant. What about you Aly? I have a credit on my audible account, it won't last long.

I really enjoyed The Harvesting Series by Melanie Karsak and The Accidental Demon Slayer was cute and funny. I really wish I could buy gift cards for audio books but so far that has not been an option. I think they were working on it though.
