Emily Kestrel | 22 comments Besides books, I enjoy hiking, birding and spending time with my dogs. I also love to travel, but haven't been able to do much of that recently. I was an exchange student to Maizuru, Japan (in Kyoto prefecture) my senior year of high school, and later taught English as a foreign language for two years in Morocco. Now I have to try to satisfy my travel bug by exploring different places in Illinois, where I currently live. Luckily, it turns out that I love to visit prairies!

Sarah, we have these things in common. I want to see the movie called "The Commuter". I think this looks like a good movie. I also love to rent movie in my spare time from Red Box. I will go to St. Lucia this year. I have not been to this country before but I am looking forward to it. I am also looking forward to the next "Maze Runner" movies this year.

Karin This is fun!

Things I loved to do BC (Before Children) included travelling, CREWEL embroidery (as in with wool, and more artistic and not like a craft, although I did craft crewel embroidery with lovely kits from my aunt first as a kid/teen), photography--mostly slide photography because my eldest was born BDTO (before digital cameras took over), hiking and some camping.

I finally have a good digital camera so I can get back into photography, but so far I'll I've done with it is to buy a shotgun mic, etc, and record my son's auditions for several things last fall (hours and hours and hours and hours while he Got Things Right, or as well as he could).

I love knitting, but took a break for tendonitis and have yet to start again, but soon I hope. I hope to get back to crewel work and finish the large project I started 12 years ago (what was I thinking? My kids weren't grown up enough.)

And I love to sing, so am taking voice lessons at my age, but since my mother started taking lessons when she was in her 70s (she is 79 now, but quit last summer) I figure I'm ahead of the game.

Board games--yes, I like some of these. I really prefer ones like Taboo and Scattergories now to the ones that depend on dice (used to love Monopoly but not so much now.

I avoid video games because I always want to beat my score so it is not healthy for me personally. This doesn't mean I don't like them:).

TV - yes, I like some TV but it's easy for me to get "addicted" and then lazy and also stop reading much, so I make Rules for myself. Right now I tend to enjoy comedies, but not most comedies. I like Scorpion, Speechless and Psych at the moment, but I am also going to be watching season 3 of The Colony because my brother is going to be in several episodes (so I binge watched the first 2 over the holidays).

I only have my baby (a joking nickname that he thinks is funny) I still chauffeur to activities, but he's in grade 12/a senior so this may end fairly soon. It used to be sports for all 3, and some dance, but now it's mostly music for him.

Death Wish was very good. I am looking forward to Tomb Raider, I know it comes out March 16th but I maybe have to catch it a weekend or two later. Crazy schedule sometimes, you all know I'm sure. I am watching the new season of Jessica Jones on Netflix and I love the Sims 4. I saw they came out with a new expansion for a vacation. I will have to get it soon and check it out. I loved the Sims 3 vacation expansion with the tombs, mummies, and more. I hope the Sims 4 vacation expansion has cool things like this in it.

I have 2 yorkies and 1 pug all girls. And we can't forget, my Adriana, she is my calico Manx cat. She is about 16 years old now. All pets for me and traveling. Keep watching my blog you will see where I go this year. I will add pictures once I get back.

I am sure I watch way too many TV shows but I love Special Victims Unit, Magicians, Scorpion, Once upon a Time, The Gifted, 911, all the Chicago shows,( med, fire, PD), The Good Doctor, The Orville, Shield, The Resident, Shadow Hunters and I can't wait for the new Siren TV show coming out on Freeform. I record most of these show and catch up with them on demand or on my DVR when I get time. I'm sure there is probably more I am missing.

I love to sing and have been singing since I was 5 years old. I took singing lessons all through school and I loved them. I would sign up for more anytime.

Have you played Scene It? I love them and there are soo many version. Scene it music, Scene It 80s and more.

I have jessica Jones saved on my to watch list. Think I will wait that one out until I have more time on my hands too. Sims 4 and 3 vacation isn't something that I rush out to buy but I do love adding to my neighbourhood so I might wait till next month. Speaking of Sims 3, i prefer the game play but sims 4 graphics is soo much better.

Jim Vuksic Upon retiring in 2001, my late wife insisted that I create a bucket list and follow through completing it. Sitting at home doing nothing was not an option. It contained four items.
1. Date night twice a week. (Completed! - Still date occasionally.)
2 Eat out at least four times a week! (Completed! - Still do.)
3 Write a novel. (Completed!)
4. Visit all 50 states by car. A minimum of 3 days to qualify as a visit. (Visited 43, so far. 7 to go!)

Yes, to Scorpion, one of the shows I enjoy and have followed since it first started! My daughter and I used to watch Once Upon a Time, but the first season was by far the best in our opinions. I tried the Orville, but not my kind of humour much of the time (I watched it for about a month or so).

Well, my parents brought their volkswagen station wagon, bought during my dad's sabbatical/2nd year of surgery residency, home by the ship we took home, so it is possible to transport cars ;). Of course, there aren't really ships that take people overseas for regular travel anymore now that airplanes have taken that over.

In 2006 two Canadian university students once hitchhiked to all 50 US States in 50 days, although not always by car. Their rule was they couldn't pay for any rides.

There have been numerous imitations since then, so it was hard to find it at first. When I remembered it happened shortly after One Red Paperclip I searched for it, then googled what I wanted with the following year and, voila, found it! I was going to offer them a ride, but they got through New England in one day or something like that, starting in NYC, because not all states would go that quickly. It was on the news, etc.

I live in Belgium and visited lots of european countries (Italy, Spain, Germany, UK, France, Austria, Switzerland, Sweden, Portugal...) but never been outside of europe. It's one of my dreams to visit each continent at least once!
Besides books I also really love music, movies and TV shows. I play the flute. Some of the TV shows I'm watching are shadowhunters, the bold type, girl boss, grown-ish, jane the virgin...
And my love for food is endless.
