Nanba Prison (Nanbaka RP Group) discussion
((O.O ermmmm well he won't leave her alone today... so something about maybe a bathroom break? He won't follow her there so either in the bathroom or on the way, outside...?? idk))

(Maybe he could get called away???)
((He would refuse, after her crying, he just no... there wouldn't be anyway he would agree))

(Um...so... What do you want me to do???)
((to the bathroom? She was crying, she could want to wash her face a bit??))

Charlotte wiped at her face, but she knew that the tear stains would not magically disappear. Brushing a hand through her silky hair to push it out of her eyes, she gave Dureau a shy glance. "Em... I'm gonna go wash my face, okay..? I probably won't cry again today anyway, and I have makeup on my cheeks and stuff..." Even as she spoke, she knew full well that the day would be filled with her tears. Going to wash her face somehow seemed productive. Or at least it was something to do to keep her distracted. She offered her brother a small smile and then pulled herself to her feet. As quick as she could to keep Dureau from trying to go with her, she strode down the aisle and toward the library doors.
Ila had been keeping an eye on them, checking on them occasionally while she looked and read some books. She made her round to peek on them to see Harumu fast asleep and Rene looking rather tired himself. She headed down and gave the boy a smile. "I hope you two had fun," she said softly. Rene looked at her cautiously but nodded. His side felt numb with the weight but he felt rather at ease and sleepy. Ila went over to gently pick Harumu up, trying not too move him too much and wake him up. She was about to head out when Rene realized something, grabbed the book and darted to his feet to give to her. "I am free whenever he wants to finish," Rene told Ila quietly, placing it on Harumu's stomach before backing away.
Ila smiled, "I will," she promised him.
Dureau nodded in agreement, "okay," he said and adjusted himself to pick himself off the floor but she was already up and out of there before he made it to his feet. He sighed, realizing she didn't want him to follow but headed towards the entrance of the library to wait for her. He knew when she wanted some space and needed it.
By the entrance, he happened to run into Ila where she stopped when noticing him. "Miss Vesta," he greeted politely but his tone as curt as before.
She smiled and nodded, "Dureau," she said. Dureau glanced at the sleeping boy in her arms and his brows furrowed. "Are you okay with carrying him?" he asked. She looked like a fragile thing that he could break with his pinky.
She nodded though it didn't ease his bit of concern but he wasn't going to press the issue. He didn't want to touch the boy. "Have a good day."
"You as well, Dureau," she said, bowing her head slightly before she left with Harumu.
((If it's okay, brief time skip to after her bathroom trip?))
When Charlotte exited the bathroom sometime later, there was a questionable man standing outside in the hallway. He was tall, lean but clearly had a firm built to him. However, he was a pale guy, with big, captivating blue eyes and long, dull red hair that was braided far pat his shoulders. He was wearing unusual clothing, not a guard uniform nor prisoner wear. Instead, he wore a dark coat and a scarf around his neck with bandages wrapped around his forehead and some can be seen peeking out from the sleeves of his coat.
His head was tilted down a bit, hands folded in front of him while he stood by the wall. He then straightened up when she exited, eyes closing while he faced her completely. "Miss Labelle," he greeted, a smile on his lips that looked earnest and kind, "you're quite a wonderful guard I hear, very reliable and strong. Only the best for building 1," he said, his tone light and calming. "It's nice to see that even the toughest of people can cry."

He found it simply fascinating that her instincts were so well pristine that she could just sense something was off. The chances of him being a prisoner was a higher ratio, so she wasn't intellectually inept. It meant that he didn't have to baby step this scenario. Not only was it fascinating, but it was quite relieving for the man. Too many people were fooled.
He held up his hands, slowly to show he meant no harm, unarmed in fact. His response in reaction to her grip on her weapon and her hissed words.
"I want a lot of things as does many others," he replied and he fully opened his eyes to look at her with the eyes of a sadistic criminal. He always hid his eyes when pretending to be something he wasn't. His cunning and cruel gaze was something he couldn't change, especially not when they revealed his wavering sanity. His sickeningly sweet smile slid into a thin line.
"Public places are not the best choice to reveal something so tantalizing," he continued, "I propose we talk," he stated, nodding towards her whip, knowing she couldn't risk knowing what he knew.

He stepped away from the wall then, one step closer to her, then another before he turned. Deliberately showing his back to an armed and skilled guard. It was abundantly clear that this man did not view her a threat in the least. Often, when a prisoner underestimated a guard, it was due to pure ego but the way he carried himself, it was likely he had something to back up his confidence.
"If you do not follow me, do not regret the consequences of that result," he said. It would not have been as threatening if not for his deliberate glance in the direction of the library, where Dureau was waiting for her.

The man eventually led her to a room not too far from the library but the first thing that was concerning [besides being in a small room with the man] was the fact the room lacked a functioning security camera. He had entered the room, waited for her to enter before closing the door close behind her. Every movement of his was relaxed and wasn't threatening in the least. He moved gracefully and with purpose.
He slid the lock into place before turning to look at her, his eyes closed and the smile on his lips once more. "Just so no one interrupts us," he explained before he moved to sit on the only chair in the room. It clearly looked to be an unused room that likely was the location to torture inmates.
He sat with his hands on his lap before opening his eyes once again to look at her. "I want information," he stated, cutting to the chase a bit. He was a guy that liked to take his time and tear apart someone's sanity but he needed her somewhat sane to get what he wanted from her. "Information only guards have access to," he continued, "about prisoners, the layouts of the buildings, trap locations and schedules."

"Why do I need to answer that?" he asked, his tone cold and unrelenting. He wasn't going to answer any of her questions. He wasn't one of those villains that told the good guy their entire plan and gave them a chance to escape.
"Will you do what I ask?" he asked, though curious why she wasn't challenging his ability to do something to her brother. He seemed to be quite the weakness for her. What a silly thing to put in Nanba prison. A siblings pair that would die for each other.
"I should mention, if you mention this to anyone..." he drifted off, not needing to continue the threat. It was abundantly clear that he would do something rather awful if she did.

"It was nice meeting you," he told her before he turned and after unlocking the door, he left to return to his cell before anyone got suspicious. He had persuaded the guard to allow him to go for a walk.
He had purposely left her his name. During the time she'd be getting him that information, he knew she'd search him up and what she will find will clarify that he would do exactly as he threatened to do.

hopefully this works >~<))
Dureau's attention on why she was like this soon waned as her condition worsened. By the time that she was shaking with tears streaming down her cheeks, Dureau had forgotten his desire to know who had done this and why to stopping her panic attack. He pushed her back away from him despite her grip on him. He cupped her face to move her tear clouded gaze to focus on him. "Lottie, focus on me, only me. Don't speak but describe my face," he told her, trying to get her to focus on something to distract her from whatever that was plaguing her. His voice nudged her into following his order, making notes of his face that would gain her focus telling her some truths about details or lies to keep her focus. Eventually, he was running a hand through her hair. "Breath in," he commanded softly but it was a strict demand. "Hold- 1,2,3... now breath out, 3,2,1," he said, his voice calm. He repeated these words for a bit until her breathing had returned to normal. He kept her close, his hands never leaving her walking her through this attack and bringing her back into control.

Lottie knew that she would do anything the man asked if her brother was at risk. Anything to keep her brother safe. Anything to keep him alive and unharmed.
"Do you think you can stand?" he said gently a bit later, adjusting the hand behind her head.

Lottie began pushing herself to her feet and only just made it when her shaking knees collapsed under her. She wrapped her arms around herself, her breathing getting worse again. One hand shyly reached out and grabbed at Dureau, finding a hold on his shirt. "I...I'm s-sorry," she whispered, blushing in embarrassment. "I... P-please don't let g-go of me..."
He had no idea how he was going to get her all the way to building 1 without having anyone [besides security] see her. He could scoop her into his arms bridal style and cover her with his jacket or something. It would be very suspicious though.

"I will carry you, trust me now to do at least that."

Charlotte sobbed softly, a shudder running through her at the words 'my strong other half'. It broke her, thinking about how much danger she had unintentionally put her precious brother, her other half, in. She closed her eyes Dureau's forehead pressed to hers, shaking her head slowly as he spoke. The woman trembled impossibly hard. It seemed, at least to Dureau, that this could be her long-awaited breakdown accumulated from the years since her last one. However, he was unaware of the fact that it was both a piece of that and her being overwhelmed by the events that had occurred when they had been separated several minutes prior. "I-I-...I-'m s-s-sorry," she sobbed in a whisper as she wiped furiously at her tears, having pulled away from Dureau just enough to do so. "I tr-tr-trust y-you... I d-do... I...I a-alwa-ways will..."
((move to?))

(His room, right?)
It had started off as a fresh new day. He teased some inmates, ate good food but when he went to visit someone... they were busy... again. He just wanted to have a little goddamn fun but it was so smoothly halted just because of an unexplained absence. Surely this seemed to be a little irrational thing to be irritated about. Tano didn't care, this world revolved around him. When things continuously don't work for it, it can just get a little annoying.
Thus, he needed a nice dish of cat to heal his wounds. Was all this just a convenient excuse to bribe a lap nap from a certain Neko? Probably. Especially since along the way, he didn't run into the other cat-like person that he'd get his relieve from whether they liked it or not. They hated it. Nonetheless, his destination was always going to be here.
Tano rose his hand out of his pocket as he approached the desk, quickening his pace enough to vault himself over the counter. "Asahana!" he sang loudly so he may be heard, his lips curling into a grin. He clicked his tongue, his hand returning to his pocket, "~here kitty kitty~"
He leaned against the counter, looking around. If he wasn't here, he was either in his office, putting away books or ended up napping in a sunspot. If it was the latter, he'd have to go searching and damn sure that he'd be scaring the poor thing awake.

Asahana, who'd been responsibly putting away returned books in an aisle down a ways from his desk directly to the left of the library entrance, startled at the sound of his name. Now, ordinarily, thanks to being partially deaf, a person needed to be standing directly next to him or speaking loud enough from farther away, for him to hear them, which meant that his immediate response was to glance around him to see who was trying to get his attention. Luckily, the momentary concern that he was hearing voices when he saw no one around him was immediately debunked by a familiar, loud voice calling for him yet again. From any other person, the slightly condescending kitty-call would have upset him, but from Tano... Asahana giggled and skipped to the edge of the aisle.
"Hi, Tanoshi-sama! I was just putting some of the books away. Would you mind giving me a hand?"
And indeed he was. The surprising musculature of his arms was on full display thanks to a rare garment change—a white traditional Japanese-style, broad-shouldered sleeveless shirt tucked into a lovely pear green hakama pants, in addition to his clean, pink-toed bare feet and his hot-weather updo—as well as the thick stack of books resting in his palms and nearly reaching his chin. He must've had a bigger pile earlier on as well considering the cute flower clip holding his bangs out of his face. He only ever wore it when working hard, after all. And yet, despite his clear need of a break, his twin cat tails flicked around happily and his eyes sparkled all thanks to Tano's presence. Maybe he had a tiny little crush on Tano...
"A-and, um, y'know, afterward, maybe we can sit and rest for a little bit? You've probably had a busy day, right? And, um, I have rice-crispy treats in my office, if you want to snack a little?"
Or maybe he had a huge one.
Tano lifted his other hand out of his pocket to give him a finger wiggling wave along with a grin. "I would much rather watch you work," he drawled as he straightened up and strolled around the counter and over to the aisle. He had gotten used to projecting his voice instinctively whenever he was around Asa so that the humanoid feline would always hear him. Tano was not about repeating himself, ever. He stopped once he was standing in front of him, leaning close as he plucked a single book off the pile he was lugging. "Cute barrette," he told him before leaning back with a grin. He rested the book against his cheek and shoulder. "Best work fast, I'm looking forward to tea time," he teased.
((sorry it's short))

Asahana sucked in a deep breath when Tano got up and didn't release it fully even after he'd plucked a book from the stack in his arms. He always seemed to have trouble doing that around Tano. Y'know, that thing...breathing. Tano made it nearly impossible. He was just so charming, and tall, and handsome, and he smelled so good, and wow he was standing really close, when did he get so close? A bright blush lit up his cheeks, and he forced himself to exhale.
"Oh, th-thanks," he giggled, biting his bottom lip softly. "Um, I can definitely make you t-tea if you want, afterward... After we put the books away, I mean. 'Cause I...kinda need to do that... The...books, I mean." To stop from making an even bigger fool of himself, he took a step back from Tano and cleared his throat. "Books. Right. Um, this way, Tanoshi-sama."
Asahana flashed his company another smile, and then led him down the aisle a ways. Luckily, he reassumed his innate librarian focus, mumbling inaudibly to himself as he scanned the shelves for the next book's proper placement. He continued on this way, almost forgetting about Tano's presence until the second to last book gave him an issue. The shelf it belonged on was impossibly high, and no matter how much he stretched, he simply couldn't reach it. With another blush ablaze on his cheeks, Asahana gave Tano a shy glance. "U-um, T-Tanoshi-sama, would you please help me? I c-can't seem to reach the shelf..."
(it's fine, mine is too)
"Tea was a joke, little kitty," he drawled, "those snacks you mentioned are just fine," he told him with a grin. Listening to him ramble in comparison to him getting down to silently working was a pleasing contrast. Tano was chuckling to himself as he wandered down after him to put the book he has in his grasp away. Once completed that extremely tough task, Tano spent the rest of the time silently watching Asa work. It was because of that keen observation that Tano was already stepping behind Asa just seconds after him calling his name. He hadn't moved sooner because watching him struggle was just plain adorable. Seeing his tail move and ears lower the more embarrassed and self-aware he became.
Tano was pressed up right behind Asa, peering down at him. "What? With this one?" he asked, "you sure you can't reach it?" he drawled with a flash of teeth. Even before Asa could reply though, Tano's hand followed Asa's arm just barely missing it before he plucked it from his grasp. He then rested his chin on Asa's head, enjoying the sensation of his ears touching his face. They were incredibly soft though, the same could be said for his hair as well. "Where does it go? Here?" he asked, purposely moving closer to trap Asa against the bookshelf as if he was struggling to reach the top row. Something that he could manage with ease but his gaze wasn't where he was placing the book. Tano already knew exactly where that needed to go. His gaze was pinned on Asa, having moved his head just enough to see the edge of his face. He wanted nothing more than the golden reaction he was sure to get.

A shiver ran down Asahana's spine when Tano's much larger figure pressed up against him. His ears now lowered in an unmistakable display of submission, he inhaled shakily and forced himself to nod, his blush now covering his unusually bared nape. He flinched hard at the sudden pressure on his head, his shoulders hunching upward. Why did Tano have to mess with him like this?! Was he doing it on purpose?! He couldn't possibly be that oblivious, could he?! With a shy pout on his face, he peeked over his shoulder at Tano's face as soon as he moved his head.
"D-don't tease me, T-Tanoshi-sama...," he grumbled, turning away quickly and stretching on his tiptoes to point to the book's place. "Th-there... It goes there." Timidness consuming him once again, he scurried out from under Tano's arm and a little way down the aisle. Asahana looked back at him, pout again on his lips. "W-we still have books to put away..." It was only three, but still. Whatever gave him the excuse to run away from his bold crush.
After about ten more minutes, thanks to an out-of-place non-fiction book that belonged on a shelf on the other side of the library, Asahana finally completed reshelving the returned books and paused right in front of Tano on his way back to the front of the library. Those last ten minutes, he'd been purposefully keeping just out of Tano's grasp, but the only way to his office (and thus the snacks he'd offered) was past the mountain-of-a-man. Thanks to Tano's size, Asahana was trapped. The blush from earlier not having faded and still blazing strongly on his cheeks, he lowered his bashful gaze to his pink toes.
"U-um... T-Tanoshi-sama, I... I c-can't get past you...," he mumbled, pulling on one of his earrings. "The, um...the snacks are in my o-office..." His tails flicked around nervously behind him. "U-um, would you m-mind...sc-scooching over a bit...please?"
(Sorry, it's kinda crap lmao)
"Tease? Me? Never," he hummed with an innocent smile, one that slid away as soon as he created distance from Tano. He placed the book in its spot, regretting that he hadn't acted when he did. He could have gotten a nice reaction if only he'd blew on his neck prior. He would have gotten a nice reaction from that. Nonetheless, Tano chuckled mutely as he watched Asa scurry away to deal with the 'books' he had to put away. He drifted after the feline, stalking him as he had to trek across the library to put one of the books away. He stayed leaning on one of the shelves, silently observing him as Asa began making his way back to the front counter. Tanoshi lowered his gaze as he came closer but didn't move away from where he was crowding the aisle. He tilted his head curiously when Asa mentioned he couldn't move past him.
"Oh? My bad," he said, moving off to the side to allow him to pass without any fuss. His gaze eating up the sight of Asa's lingering blush, his fidgeting and flicking tail. He waited until Asa was passing him to bend down close to his ear. "I'll find us a sunny spot," he murmured in his ear, making it more breathy than necessary just to get a nice ear flick out of it. However, as soon as he said it, he leaned back and skulked off to find a nice spot for snacks and a nap.

Asahana slowly crept past Tano as soon as he was given enough room to, side-eyeing him all the while, convinced that he'd pinch him or pull on his ear. Unfortunately, what he actually did was much worse and got a far greater reaction than the things Asa had thought of. The combination of Tano leaning in close, whispering in his ear, and the hot breath tickling his fur not only escalated Asahana's blush but also made him squeal in surprise. Slapping a hand over his ear, he skipped away from Tano, a pout on his face.
"Sn-sneaky..."
Placing a hand over his racing heart, Asahana scurried away before Tano could strike again.
A few minutes later, Asa, with a basket full of treats, drinks, and a fluffy blanket, ducked back into the bookshelves in search of Tano and the sunny spot he said he'd find. Gods, that Tano. He drove Asa crazy! There wasn't a single moment Asa shared with him where he felt completely at ease, simply due to how unpredictable he was! He was so handsome and smooth and surprisingly kind. He pretended he was hardcore, and sometimes he could be, but there was something undeniably sweet about him. Plus, he always treated Asa gently. Ah, in many ways, he was perfect. Though he was still a big ol' butthead.
Tano turned his head as he heard Asa arriving, a grin brightening his features as he slid off the ledge to greet him. Hands once more in his pockets. "I've fetched us something to sit on," he drawled, nodding to the cushions he'd grabbed from a couch in a small seating area nearby. He'd plopped them into the sunspot and now plopped onto them. He patted the spot beside him before sniffing at the goodies.
((Do we want to figure out a direction?))

Speaking of perfect, Asahana nearly tripped over his own feet when he finally found Tano basking in the sun like a freakin' god. For a quick moment, he let himself take in the beauty that was Osoreru Tanoshi... But then he noticed the drool in the corner of his mouth and forced himself to step out of the shelves and approach Tano like a sane person. He smiled, a bright blush on his cheeks.
"Th-this is a nice spot, Tanoshi-sama," he praised shyly, avoiding eye-contact as he lowered himself onto the cushion Tano had gotten for him. He set down his bag of goodies, desperate to ignore how close Tano was. "Th-thank you for the seats... I brought the rice-crispy treats, some Caprisuns, a couple chocolate-chip granola bars, and a fluffy blanket because fluffy blankets are always nice." He pulled the snacks out as he listed them, and then giggled softly. Unfortunately, he quickly sobered, his ears and gaze lowering with guilt. "T-Tanoshi-sama? I'm s-sorry if I was a little rude earlier when I was trying to fetch the snacks... It was very kind of you to find this spot for us..." He quickly swiped up a rice-crispy treat and held it up to Tanoshi, his eyes hopeful. "F-forgive me?"
(Perfect!!!)
He watched Asa approached and joined him on the cushion. "Only the best," he drawled as he scooted that a tad closer and reached over to snatch a rice-crispy that he immediately plopped into his mouth. He nodded as Asa informed him of all that he'd collected, waiting until he'd engulfed the treat and licked his fingers clean so he could claim the blanket. Tanoshi's brow raised when everything about him lowered. He reminded him of a guilty dog.
"You weren't rude," Tano dismissed quickly, not even giving it much thought. He didn't think any of it and had done it on purpose to get that reaction after all. "there's nothing to forgive," he stated and bent down to take the treat directly with his mouth. He bit down, never taking his eyes off of him while he also chewed and swallowed. "As delicious as always," he praised before taking the rest of it and worked on finishing it off while he began laying the blanket across his legs. Once he was satisfied, he was down with his head on his lap. "Hope you don't mind," he drawled, looking up at Asa. with as innocent of a smile he could conjure up, "I feel like a cap nap."

Asahana's ears perked at Tano's easy dismissal, everything about him relaxing. Never before had he been so relieved that he hadn't offended someone. That isn't to say he's ever been happy or even eager to insult someone, just that Tano was extraordinary to him in a way other people weren't. He was special. Different. Exciting. When around him, Asa felt like he should never lower his guard. Tano riled him up and put him on edge and challenged him like no other. He was wild and dangerous, and Asa loved it. Of course, that never prepared him for what Tano would do next. Including when Tano flopped down with his head on his lap.
Squeaking, Asahana froze with his hands near his chest. "A-are you sure?" he mumbled, hesitantly sinking his fingers into Tano's hair. "I...I don't mind, I just..." He trailed off shyly, blushing brighter. "I just don't know if my lap is that comfortable... I-I can let you use my cushion if you'd like?" Contrary to his words, his hand continued to play with Tano's hair, making it evident that he actually enjoyed his crush napping on him. After a moment of silence, he continued, "You...you usually come to me when you've had a bad day... Is that the case today, too, Tanoshi-sama...? Do you wanna talk about it?" He smiled. "You know I'm a great listener."
(Alrighty. What do you want me to post now???)
