JudithAnn | 2 comments Hi Andi. Hello from the Netherlands! Your first readathon? I hope you'll have a great time. It's my tenth or so. My excuse for a day of reading. :-) Judith @ leeswammes' blog (http://leeswammes.wordpress.com)

Hi JudithAnn. Anytime I'm reading I'm having a good time so it should be a good day! I hope to make it to your corner of the world someday.

Andi Listening to Reaper's Property while doing a #readathon mini challenge:

Cover From Memory: "Think of a book. Now, with no googling or shelf-searching, you need to draw it."

I drew Stargirl by Jerry Spinelli. One of my favorites.

Andi It's a little ironic. All the social activity and mini challenges are fun but distracting. I'm reading less than usual.

I know right?!

Is this your first Dewey's?

The challenges are so addictive and there are some great prizes! It's so easy to be distracted. That's why I'm only doing challenges every 6 hours.

Yes, my first. I'm realizing it's about connecting with readers/ socializing about reading more than the reading itself. At this rate I'll do good to finish 1 book. That's fine though. I'm really enjoying it.

Same here! I've been taking breaks to check online every couple of hours, and then I end up spending more time than intended. But it's all bookish, so it's all good. glad you're having fun :)

Andi Mid-Event Survey!
1. What are you reading right now?
Father by Clarissa Wild (the same book I was reading at 7am!)
2. How many books have you read so far?
Part of 1
3. What book are you most looking forward to for the second half of the Read-a-thon?
Hoping to finish Father (lol)
4. Have you had many interruptions? How did you deal with those?
A few real life ones. But most of them have been self imposed by all the online interactions, challenges, etc
5. What surprises you most about the Read-a-thon, so far?
That I would end up reading way than I thought (& less than usual) because there is so much going on! And I've had so much fun with that. Didn't expect to be so interactive.

Colona Public Library (colonapubliclibrary) | 197 comments I love interacting with readathon on twitter...a little to much because that's probably my biggest distraction is wanting to see what everyone else is doing/reading! ~Ashley

Same here but on IG. Twitter is worse, I'm sure.

Daisey | 80 comments I thought the same thing during the first readathon that I actively participated online. I got so much less reading done than expected, but I love the interaction with so many people all focused on books at the same time! Glad you joined us this time!! Good luck with the rest of the readathon, and hope you can at least finish that one book! :)

Yes, that! I did finish my 1 book and finished 2 others that I had started before the Readathon. It was a really fun experience. Totally worth only 4 hours sleep.

Yay!

I now have a splitting headache from the lack of sleep. lol
