Heather and Lara

She stayed limp, so that when Chase tried to gether her into his arms, she easily slid into his arms. Soft, silent tears still slid down her cheeks. He said he was just overwhelmed, but it was not stress that she had seen in his features, it was fear. Her wings ruffled a little, their first movement, and subconsciously Lexi drew them in closer to herself. She felt safe beneath her new mass of downy white curtains. They sheltered her, kept her warm and protected. Her shoulders were still shaking a little, as she was trembling from crying.
She loved Chase, and she thought he loved her, so why did he run? What was he afraid of? An icey thought suddenly struck her mind and Lexi tensed. "There's something wrong with me, isnt there?" She asked softly.

He sighed softly into Lexis hair, closing his eyes. He could feel her wings rustle against his arm, an uneasy feeling settling around him. Lexi seemed to tensed up all of a sudden, her tone becoming icy. Oh. Oh no, he didn't like that at all. "Something wrong with you?" He scoffed, laughing uneasily. "Oh no, nothings wrong with you babe! You're an angel, you're perfect, you turned out so wonderful...!" He mused enthusiastically, kissing her cheeks. He was sincerely happy for lexi, now that she was finally an angel, but something was wrong.

Lexi bit her lip, trying to catch the wings which were pumping hard now as a reaction, lifting her off the floor and into a wall. She started smashing into things, her panic growing.

What was going on? Why was she freaking out, was this normal? The chaos continued for several minutes, chases arms sheilding his head as he cowered in a corner on the floor, avoiding Lexis wing wrath. The redhead came dangerously close to smashing her face into a sharp corner or wall, small cries of pain and panic escaoing her as she struggled to keep herself on the floor to avoid the ceiling fan. Finally, chase couldn't take it. Without a word, chase crept along the floor against the wind, diving for Lexis legs like a pouncing animal on its prey. It took lexi down in an instant onto her bed, his arms wrapped around her thighs as they crashed into the comforter. Chase wrestled lexi into her bed, refusing to let the tainted wings flipping wildly against the covers. "Okay?" Chase panted heavily, finall loosening his hold on Lexis waist, his body laying directly on top of Lexis. He smoothed his blonde hair with his fingers, smiling softly. "Your wings will be...tough," he sighed decidedly, unstraddling her stomach and examining Lexis wings.

She rolled her shoulders and straightened, looking to him for answers. "What is going on? Is this why you were scared?" She looked down at her limp wings and noticed something. There was another colour on them. Her wings werent just white. Lexi's face filled with confusion, and then slowly shock and fear. Her eyes raised to meet his and she swallowed slowly. "Why are my wings like that?" She grabbed his hand. "Be honest. Am I..." she bit her lip and took a deep breath. "Am I... evil?"

Chase inhaled sharply then, having not expected Lexis second and third questions. What was he supposed to say? He didn't knowexactly what was supposed to happen in an angel transformation, since lexi had broken all the usual processes anyway. She hardly shed her baby feathers more than a few minutes, and her wings were tinged with black purple. "What? Er... no, its not why I was scared! I just got a little surprised, is all," chase put slowly, watching lexi carefully. "Ah- hey, why don't we-" chase tried to detract her attention from looking at her wings, but it was too late. Lexis face contorted with too many emotions at once, and it put chase on edge. Would she scream? Become angry? Cry again? He knew he couldn't handle crying, crying girls more specifically. Chase squeezed Lexis cold fingers with his warm palm, his heart sinking with Lexis soft spoken concerns.
"That's... what I freaked out about earlier," chase admitted softly, swallowing a lump ik his throat. "Listen, you're not evil. I know you're not, because youre my lexi, and you'd never be evil," he said firmly, as if his words could make it definite. "All angels start out pure, with white wings, and if they begin to turn, if their soul is dark ... white wings fade to gray, then brown, dark brown, black, then a flaming purple," chase explained slowly, biting his cheek. "I have no idea what the tipped wings mean, it could just be because you're special," chase promised, kissing her lips. "You know, maybe its just like those people with one blue one green eye, something to set you apart... remember, you've developed in two or three months, when it should take a year," he reminder her with a proud smile. He squeezed her stomach with his arms, snuggling close.

He said she was strong. That the darkness was just because of her quick growth. She wanted to believe ot so badly? But it was hard. "I want to control them." She told him, her wings pumping again, but she still hadnt noticed. That thing was stirring in her again. That strange dark magic that had tinged her wings and strengthened her. It would continued to strengthen her for her purpose. One that was set out by her missing parent.

Chase couldn't help a grin at lexis determinated tone, how her lips pursed and her eyebrows scrunched together in that cute little face of hers. He took her other hand, adjusting himself so he was sitting directly across from her, legs crossed Indian style. Their knees pressed against each other, Lexi looking quite dwarfed in her cape of wings before his 6'3 muscular frame. "Oh, well that's a relief to hear," chase rolled his eyes, intertwining their fingers. "Ah-ah-!" Chase raised his eyebrows, looking pointedly at lexis fluttering wings. They were still a little fragile, but for he most part, Lexi was ready for training.
Chases eyes locked with Lexis, before his body glowed with his essence ver so faintly. His white strong wings spread from his back to their full mighrt wingspan, nearly reaching both ends of the bedroom walls. Nearly. They curled around Lexi, enveloping her body and wings with his. The simple touch made lexis feathers flutter, some essence escaping his own pure white feathers. "Whatever it takes, I'll teach you. Shall we go over some basics? Maybe it can wait, you might be a little tired..." Chase mused, picking one of his feathers for inspection. He compared it to one of Lexis, unable to help a smile. They were exactly alike, because of his transferring of his own essence to the extent he had donated, and matched in shape, contour, and color (except for the tips). Lexis feathers were slightly smaller than his, his wingspan having a few feet on lexis.
((If they do go over basics lets skip that, it'd be boring))

She sighed softly, her eyes closing slowly as she let out a breath and all her tension with it. Her wings relaxed and stilled as she let go of all her worries and stress. She visibly relaxed, the worry disappearing from her features. Then she tipped her head a little to look up at him, a small smile on her lips. The question she had been dying to ask for so long just came tumbling out. "Can I touch your wings?"

Lexi had unquestionably relaxed in his lap since the wings incident, her blue eyes fluttering shut with a sigh. Chase took his. Position to an advantage, peering down lexis bck to take a peek at er wings again. Just looking at the black tips, seeming like broken polka dots across her wings, didnt sit well with him. Something was going on, and he had to find out. Lexis voice brought him back to reality, her question bringing a proud smile to his fce. He never was able to show them off before, and now that he could, he would try not to boast too much. "Of course, Lexi...!" He laughed softly, uncurling his right wing from her body and extending it for her to touch. It would be like a bodybuilder flexing his muscles, his eyes watching the observer carefully.

Her face lit up with delight when he said she could and she watched I awe as he uncurled the massive thing from around her. It looked so beautiful and deadly and safe at the same time. Lexi just paused, staring at it for a long couple seconds just like she always did. Then she hesitantly reached out a hand and stroked one of his feathers. A grin lit up her features and she stroked little more, both her hands wandering to his wings.
Her fingers started to delicately trace over each feather, not missing one. "So soft." She whispered, resisting the urge to just hug the wing to herself like a child might a teddy bear. She was very careful with it, almost as if she was afraid of breaking it, or harming him in anyway.

When he was sure lexi had gotten her fill of his wings, he embraced her once more, his eyes closed as he leaned his head on her chest. His wings again wrapped around Lexi, more loosely than they had before. "You hungry or anything? How do you feel...?" Chase murmured against her skin, looking up with one opened eye. Then another thought occurred to him, and chase sat straight up with a. Twinkle of excitement in his blue eyes. "Your powers, lex, you should have them by now!" Chase reminded her. "So, now, every wound or cut or sickness you get is healed in an instant!" He wanted to know if the powers had really set yet, and there was only one way to find out. "Also, you should be able to do something with your essence, something great, it's like... A ball of white light, it's the energy that can blast through things-!" Chase babbled, making absolutely no sense in his mind. He was too thrilled to be examining lexis new abilities to even comprehend.

Then her eyes lit up. "Powers!?" She asked, bouncing a little out of excitement. "How do I find out what they are?" She asked, bubbling over with enthusiasm. She couldnt wait to find out what she could do. And now, she could get hurt and be fine! That meant a life full of possibilities.

Of course, mentioning powers, lexis blue eyes illuminated like any child's would. It was cute, really, and chase couldn't resist teasing her. "Geez, calm down! It's nothing crazy," he rolled his eyes nonchalantly. "First off, Im not exactly sure they're completely... Erm.... Completely there yet?" He tried, wondering how he was supposed to put his words. "Only way to know is find out, come on," chase encouraged softly, gently pushing Lexi from his lap to go out into the living room, where there'd be more space. The wings made the room seem dwarfed, a mass of white feathers. "Invisibility, healing yourself, immortality, flying, light energy," chase listed on his fingers for Lexi to see, opening the bedroom door for the redhead.

"Invisibility!?" She asked. "Flight!" She grinned, bouncing a little on the balls of her feet. Her wings spread, sending her gliding through the living room. This made her light up even more. "Fly!" She exclaimed. "I flew!!" She clapped her hands in giddy excitement.
Then suddenly, something changed. It was one of those chilling moments, like when clouds roll over the moon during a dark stormy night. Lexi stiffened and stared straight ahead, nose flared and eyes wide with fear. She could hear voices, strange voices in her head. 'Kill the angel.' One rasping, bone grating voice whispered. Lexi was stuc frozen, only shaking her head slightly. Another voice came, 'kill all humans and serve your master in hell.'
Lexi stiffened. She knew those things werent right. She shook her head. 'I wont do it." She said stubbornly. The voice in her head seemed to chuckle a dry rasping chuckle. Then an image entered her mind, one of pain, one of her being tortured. Lexi whimpered. "No no no!" She cried.

A headache was throbbing in his temples, and his stomach growled inwardly. He was incredibly tired even if it was only nine PM, when he'd normally go to bed at eight to get up for work the next morning by five. Chase offered a weak smile, the kind you gave your kid when you weren't feeling up for it, but tey were just so proud. Lexis beaming smile only made chases wider, his body sinking into the comfort of the couch. Lexi was constantly glowing, her essence shining through her skin with a soft golden glow that radiated naturally, softening her features. Chase as happy for Lexi that she could already fly, but deep in his heart he felt a pang of upset. He had wanted to teach her, to have something to be proud of. It was beyond him now, so he figured he'd just let Lexi figure it all out.
He didnt even realize lexis fearful expression as he became absorbed with his phone, his head hung over his chest lazily as the screen shone on his face. The living room was dimly lit from the kitchens automatic lights, and lexis essence. He knew they should be celebrating or something, but chase simply wasnt up to it. A last goodnight text was sent to each of his sisters and his parents, before the phone was tossed to the side. "I won't do it," Lexi whispered fearfully, causing chases head to snap up. Who was she talking to? He hadnt said anything. What was going on? "Lexi?" Chase began cautiously, standing up ever so slowly form the couch. He stood in front of her, blocking whatever she had been gazing off at. "No what? Lexi? What's going on!" Chase demanded, uneasy as he tried to capture her attention,!)8: face directly in hers.

The voice laughed. 'You see what I can do to you?' It asked. 'I will stop. But you must do what I say.' It.hissed.
Lexi bit her lip, tears filling her closed eyes. "What do you want me to do?' She asked softly, her voice cracking with emotion and pain.
'First. Kill the angel.' It hissed.
Lexi shook her head violently. "No! No! Stop.telling me to kill him! I wont do it!" She said, curling up tighter.
The voice paused. 'You will suffer if you dont listen.' It warned.
Lexi tensed and cried out as fire burned her insides. "Stop!" She cried, shaking and sobbing, "stop. Please stop." She curled up in a tight ball, her wings wrapped around herself.

She asked aloud what he wanted her to do, or so he thought, but the distant glaze over her eyes told him that she was definitely not asking him. Frustrated, afraid, and panicked at what giving her angel abilities had done to his sweet Lexi, chase groaned loudly in frustration, bordering a scream. Chase stood up, moving to the window for some fresh air. He opened the balcony doors, a cold rush of September air sweeping inside. It felt nice, but got chilly a little too quickly. He slammed them shut, his body tensed with irritation. This was beginning to go south. Maybe... Lexi couldn't be an angel, and all this was side effects. Maybe he wasnt strong enough, or too strong for her own body.
Whatever it was left his mind as soon as Lexi began to scream again, denying that she would ever kill "him". Chase knew that that "him" was him. Whoever it was was communicating through Lexi, trying to get him out of the way. It was a demon, one without a body of their own. The spirit was convincing Lexi to do its dirty work! That was the only explanation chase could think of, suddenly terrified. Shaking in his own socks. Lexi may deny it now, but whoever it was would push her. He'd torture her from the inside, probably intensify the pains until she did it, killed him. It would drive anyone nuts.
Chases first instinct was to back away, taking a tentative step backwards in disbelief. But seeing Lexi so hopeless on the floor, her tainted wings wrapped around he body, he couldn't resist. He knelt at lexis side, resting a heavy hand on her shoulder. "Lex...? Come on, baby, Lexi... Please," he whispered gently, trying to lure her out of her state. This wasnt fair. They were supposed to be happy together, without any interfering assholes.

There was a brisk and chilling laugh. 'I wm you. Or at least. I have become a part of you. I was planted you.'
Lexi's eyes grew wide and her heart froze. The voice was... in her? "What do you mean?" She asked, her skin as pale as a bedsheet or a peice of paper.
'I was placed inside you by someone you no longer know. I have been living in you. Now you have the ability to hear and feel me.' It explained.
Lexi bit her lip, her thin hands curling into little fists. "Fine. Well. I dont care if you're living in me. I want you out now." She insisted, glaring at nothing.
The voice chuckled. 'Well im not leaving. Now kill him or ill hurt you again.'
Lexi shook her head stubbornly, and immediately the pain started again, stronger than before, eating away at her from the inside. She screamed and collapsed, shaking. She was worried that it would never end, when she suddenly felt a hand on her. She gasped, being drawn out of her trance for a moment. She stared at Chase in shock and fear. "Helpme!" She begged. "Get it out of me!"

She swallowed slowly. "Its ok. Im sorry." She whispered, her head reeling as she felt the demon try to regain control of her. "I... you should rest... just stay away from me so I dont hurt you." She said, wincing as the pain started to seep back into her bones. Then reality slipped and she could only hear the voice again.
'Kill the angel!' It screamed, putting her in more and more pain.
Lexi felt numbed. She shook her head. "I wont do it." She said over and over. She started to glow as she fought the force in her. She actually managed to push the voice back a bit, but not the pain.
'Im going to keep at this until you give in' the voice whispered.
Lexi froze. Not because of fear of pain, but because she knew she was not strong enough to last forever. She whimpered at the realization that she might actually end up killing Chase. "Please. What can I do to stop you from making me kill him?" She asked.
The voice paused, and then it destinctly said. 'Give me your body.'
Lexi swallowed and nodded slowly. "Give you my body?" She asked, clarifying.

"You're not going to hurt me, now tell me what's going on," chase persuaded, ruffling lexis red locks like he knew she liked. Just when he thought he was getting through to Lexi, she began speaking distantly again. To that damned voice. He grit his teeth in annoyance, wantin to strangle whatever was hurting his girl, whatever was threatening her with that conniving persuasion. He was almost convinced to throw up his hands and give up, hand Lexi a knife so she could stab him. At least she'd be freed, and Chase could find another body to inahbit with his spirit. The only way to really kill an angel was quite intricate, but it involved dark magic and demons.
"Lexi James, dammit! You are not giving your body to ANYone! Listen to me! Snap out of it!" Chase was desperate now, tilting her chin to face him. This was a no. He wouldn't let his girlfriend, eternal companion, be sold to the devil! What good would it do? This thing would surely kill him if he got into lexis body. And the worst part? The demon would convince chase that it was still his Lexi in there, then strike when the moment presented itself. Total backstab. "Don't let it take you, not after all we've been through, I can't lose you-!" Chase gazed into those empty eyes, feeling a little- alot- hopeless.

Lexi nodded numbly, about to agree when she felt as if she was shaken awake. She blinked, finding herself looking at Chase again. She blinked a couple times and then smiled weakly, holding her hand over his against her cheek. "Hey babe." She said softly. There was a complete and total peace in her voice. "I can save you. I will save you." She said, determined.
She took his face in her hands and kissed him gently, lingering in it as long as possible, her heart reaching out to him. Finally she broke away from it. The voice was coming back, and she didnt have much time left. "I love you Chase. Always will. Because of that, I have to go." She said softly, her eyes filled with love. Her hand fell away from his face and she blinked as she felt herself slowly start to slip again.

"No... Lexi, no, that's not-" chase struggled to find the words, regretting the phrase he had used with her. Perhaps he had been a little terse, speaking only out of anger. It never worked when that happened, as even sweet chase could say whatever first came to mind. Now Lexi was crying, the tears welled up in her eyes as her chin quivered. "Can we just please, talk this over...?" Chase whispered softly, letting the hot tears roll from his bright blue eyes down his sculpted cheeks. As for an answer, he had Lexi run past him into the bathroom, her wings slamming into his shoulder as she escaped the living room.
He had done it now, really messed things up for himself. Now what would Lexi do? He figured it couldn't be much worse than giving herself up to a demon, who would use her to do its vil bidding. Who knew what Lexi would be forced to do, how many innocent lives shed be ending, how my chaos shed bring. Chase gathered his thoughts after several moments of silence, his forehead feeling feverish as he slowly turned towards the bathroom Lexi had holed up in. "Lexi?" A soft knock sounded on the bathroom door, his body pressed to the door. She could choose to open it, or he'd break the door right then and there. No more of this escaping, no more hiding and miscommunication like last time.

She choked down a sob and shook her head weakly. She could never win, could she? But... Chase said she could win! Chase said she could fight the demon. And since he was a part of her, then she had to fight herself. Lexi got up weakly and walked to the sink, twisting the tap on with a shaking hand. She waited for it to fill. If she died, then the demon should dieas well, right? Well. That was what Lexi thought, as she had forgotten that she could no longer die the same way as a human. She slowly lowered herself and sucked in the water into her lungs as she tried to drown herself.

His hands took her shoulders, pulling her bck from the water in hopes she wasnt dead. His warm essence energy coursed through his veins, filling lexis body. If she had managed to drown herself, her lungs had been emptied of the tap water. He turned her slowly to meet her eye to eye, a serious, serene look taking him over. What so much stress, little sleep, worry, fighting, a girlfriend, and a threatening demon could do to him. With his angel essence taking ahold of Lexis soul and keeping her from making any rash movements, the demon was strangled for the moment, silent.
"Don't do this to yourself, you are strong enough to fight it from within," chases voice was a little eerie in the dark bathroom, his eyes glowing brighter than his body. "Fight it, for the one you love," he instructed, the desperation that had once taken over diminishing. "I can not help you, as the demon is inside you, but I will be here as you struggle, at your side. Only, only if you try," chase murmured. "Don't give up, the demon is desperate, it is at disadvantage, you can win this battle. You have died three times already, you have become a full fledged angel, don't give up. For me, Lexi, if you love me," chase finished, releasing her body and te influence he had on her. It had been a while since he had been in his normal state, and he felt a little woozy.

She bit her lip, listening as he talked to her, her chest rising up and down rapidly. When he finished talking, she nodded feverishly, backing up when he let go of her. She knew who he was, she was just startled to see him like that. "I..." she stammered. "Ill try." She said, swallowing slowly. She couldnt take her eyes off of him. What was going on? She closed her eyes and focused on the demon, trying to force it out. The demon screamed and struggled, fighting back.
Lexi moaned softly, hunching over. She started to glow softly as she struggled, fighting hard to stay in control and get rid of the demon. She grit her teeth and fought hard.

"Thank you." His intense gaze continued to watch Lexi in a reverent stance, observing her features. Her face crumpled up in focus, her fists grit at her sides. He didn't know how long it'd take, though with Lexi he didn't expect long, to get rid of her inner devil, but he'd stay with her, like he had promised. As tired as he was, Chase needed to support his girlfriend. As much as chase wanted to reach out and help her as she strained herself, he couldn't. This was lexis battle, he had done enough fighting for her. It was her turn, now, the first test of many that would come with her new form. He could sense a hesitation in lexis features as se became a little weak, leaning against the counter, an he interfered. "Come on, Lexi, fight harder," he whispered soothingly.

She shouted in frustration whrn she felt herself weaken. "Im trying!" Shr exclaimed, wringing her hands. It hurt her brain to concentrate so hard. She was slowly declining in energy, until suddenly her energy dropped alarmingly. Lexi sank down against the counter, gasping. She scrunched uer face and focused hard, using up the last bit of energy in her. Her eyes rolled back into her head as she passed out and collapsed. And then her wings slowly changed, the black dripping off of them like ink so that they were left snowy white.

Lexi abruptly collapsed in a heap on the floor, breathing heavily. He saw the eyes roll, his heart on an edge as he watched Lexi fiercely. He knelt beside her on the bathroom floor on one knee, his golden eyes trying to make sense of her fainting. Had she won? Or would Lexi wake up and not be Lexi anymore? "Baby?" Chase whispered, hiding the panic in his voice. Something shifted in his peripheral vision, and he saw that it was the inky black tipped wings. Slowly, lexis body began to glow, and her feather began to match the snow white color of his own. Lexi had won! Relief washed over him as he scooped his darling in lot his arms bridal style, kissing her lips tenderly. He reverted to his original self again, stepping over the broken door knob. He'd fix it later. Chase carried Lexi back to her dark room, his head pounding as his eyes changed back to their normal blue, his body's energy decreasing dramatically. "Hey, wake up," he whispered against her ear, rustling her body ever so slightly before laying her in bed.

Lexi swallowed slowly, just staring at him. She wanted to ask what happened, what was wrong, if everything was ok. She also wanted to ask what was up with his eyes earlier, but she was too nervous. She just stared, trembling a little. And that voice. Was that gone as well? Where had it gone? Lexi's mind was pounding because she had just fainted, but also now because of all the questions she was being hit with.

"How're you feeling? You did it...!" Chase murmured, smiling his boyish half grin. He sunk into the mattress at lexis side, sitting against her leg on the covers and resting a hand on the other side of her legs. He leaned in for a kiss, pecking her lips tenderly. Her white wings were spread out flat beside her, pure white. Just how he liked them. Now they could match, take the skies together as real angels. Chase could only hole that nothing else would arise, that they could be left alone for the next eternity.

Once she got one, she couldnt wait any longer. She had not been relaxed in his arms for so long. She threw herself at him, hugging him hard. She just stayed like that for a long while, breathing his scent in which helped to calm her fluttering heart. Then she pulled away and looked into his blue eyes for a second, a small smile curling at her lips. "Ive been waiting to do this since we met." She whispered, and then she drew herself closer and kissed him again, but this time with a passion she had never before shown.

Chase grunted softy as Lexi three herself at his chest, her arms squeezing his torso stronger than he could have imagined. "Hey," chase whispered gently, rubbing her back lovingly as he returned a more gentler embrace. His eyes met hers, their foreheads tilted against each other, one of his hands cupping lexis fragile jaw. What Lexi said next sent a little chill up his spine, the good kind, and he was dragged into a rather fierce and passionate kiss. Chase hadnt kissed like this in forever, the last time being with Amanda probably a year or something ago. "I love you, I'm proud of you," chase whispered when he came up for air, a soft glow illuminating the two.

She kissed his nose gently. "We're ok now, right?" She asked hopefully. "We can just be together now. Right?" She asked. After being distant from him for so long she was craving him. Craving feeling loved by him, craving how his embrace could make her blush, craving how their kisses set her heart fluttering out of control. All of this was portrayed Iin her eyes as she looked at him longingly. She just wanted to be with him. Permanently.

"We're okay? I suppose so, unless anything has been bothering you or upsetting you?" Chase kissed er cheek, unable to get enough of her soft skin on his lips. "Yours... Forever," chase vowed, linking his pinky with hers. He might as well put a ring on it, but e wanted to make sure Lexi was okay with him for a while. He wouldn't e able to handle it if she changed her mind. Chases blue eyes fought sleepiness as they threatened to droop, willing himsel to focus on Lexis bright blues that were so identical to his own. He curled Lexi up by his side, sighing as e dropped into her pillows to face the ceiling. Maybe he'd sleep in the same bed as her tonight. He was much too lazy to go get ready for bed, brush his teeth, or even go get the medicine they had prescribed Lexi at the hospital. It was nearly ten PM, they could call t a night.

Lexi beamed, grinning when he linked their pinkys. "And I am yours. Forever and always." She promised, blushing softly, her blue grey eyes filled with joy. She let him position her, curling up against him like a small child. She snuggled her face against his chest, sighing softly. Her red hair draped around her shoulders and she let her eyes fall shut. "Love you." She whispered, letting out a small yawn, her wings stretching and then folding as she got settled. She was asleep a second later.

All was silent, except the ticking of clocks and the distant hum of traffic outside the apartment suite. Then he heard it, a sob. Lexis sob. Chases ears strained for any signs of lexi, and he could hear it again. His heart broke for her, feeling a little sorry for the fear and confusion he had when he ditched lexi in her room, right when he had sworn he'd always be there for her, he'd be with her on the way to her "angelhood". Shaking his head to clear his mind, chase stood to return to his girlfriend. "Lex...?" Chase whispered gently, knocking on her partly opened door.
There lexi sat, a mess of red hair and those pure white feathers. What bugged him again was the black tips. He couldn't stand them. Chase would never say they were hideous and unsettling to Lexis face, he wouldn't even admit it to himself. "Lexi, babe... what's wrong? I didn't mean to leave you like that, I had to uh... straighten my thoughts out, got a little overwhelmed," chase laughed nervously, tripling over his words like a fool. "Why you on the floor?" Chase cooed, kneeling beside lexi and attempting to slide her in his lap. A hand tentatively reached to stroke a feather, a soft sigh escaping his lips. Tainted or not, they were pleasing to the touch.
